  • Dustpetal's blue eyes flicked open. Yesterday's thoughts fluttered gracefully through her mind. Yes, she just got an apprentice. Littlepaw. Dustpetal jumped up excitedly and raced to the apprentice's den. "Littlepaw," meowed Dustpetal, trying to sound like she had authority.

  • Littlepaw was curled into a tight ball, and his ear flicked at the sound of his mentor's voice. Lifting his head sleepily, the apprentice asked, "Is it morning already?" Without waiting for a reply he stretched and yawned. Littlepaw smiled at Dustpetal as he slipped past her and into the clearing. He tried to hide his excitement with a few licks to his chest fur. "What are we doing today?" His tail swayed happily, his small body trembling just barely with excitement.

(If you've read all the books, what point in time, like which book, is this taking place?)

  • (I think this site is alternate universe, so it can be any time, but I think it is more in the Original Arc series)

Dustpetal purred, happy her apprentice was enthusiastic. "My, we should do some...," she began, pondering over what they should do, "a tour." Dustpetal guided Littlepaw to the entrance of the camp so he could look into the large forests of ThunderClan.

  • Littlepaw purred, bouncing with every step. He'd never been out of the camp, not even just outside the entrance like a lot of the kits have. He'd preferred the safety of the camp. But recently Littlepaw, Littlekit at the time, and been more restless and had begun acting like a normal kit. "Where are we going first?" He tried to calm himself down, but was still smiling and purring.

  • "Hm, we should go to the river," meowed Dustpetal, walking swiftly around the pine trees, checking that Littlepaw wasn't getting lost.

  • Littlepaw kept up but just barely. His short legs were fast, but his steps were small. He couldn't keep the silly grin off his muzzle, occasionally tripping or narrowly missing things because he was distracted by the new sight and smells.

  • "Here it is." The bright sunlight hurt Dustpetal's blue eyes for a moment, but the beautiful, flowing rivers, thawing from the Leaf-bare, were rushing quickly like it usually did. Dustpetal stepped forwards a little bit more, waiting for Littlepaw to catch up.

  • Littlepaw was panting a little when he stopped beside Dustpetal, but his breath caught when he saw the scenery. "Wow..." He purred. "It's beautiful!" He ran down to the river bank, and touched the water with a hesitant paw.

  • "Be careful," meowed Dustpetal cautiously. Her blue eyes fluttered down to the rippling stream and she lapped gently from it. "The river is purely used for drinking. We leave swimming and fishing to RiverClan," she meowed lightly, gesturing to a jagged array of stones further down stream. "If you want to cross, use those," she advised.

  • Littlepaw nodded, taking a drink from the river himself. "But why would we need to cross?" He took a few steps away from the river in case he slipped.

  • Dustpetal gestured to the forest on the other side. "That is our territory as well," meowed Dustpetal. She was still recovering from the move, after ShadowClan burnt down their previous territory.

  • Littlepaw stared. "Really? That's a lot of territory." He slowly turned in a circle, taking a long look at all of the territory around him. "Does our territory ever end?!"

  • Dustpetal shrugged. "It will, it will collide with another Clan's territory. I do know we are close to ShadowClan," meowed the warrior, flicking her tail to a distant mountainous region. Dustpetal turned her back on the stream and began to walk slowly through the tall grass. "Come, Littlepaw," she meowed quietly.

  • Littlepaw turned to follow her, and was unable to see over the tall grass because of his height. "Will being little make it harder for me to be a warrior?" He worried.
