Romeo is smart, genius, being Arab, it's in the blood. This quick wit gives the horse a huge advantage on the quarter horses that he competes against, it isn't hard, he thinks it's boring sometimes actually.
This cocky attitude shows in his fancy gaits, and ability to take advantage of you.
The horse is a snob his breeding farm was actually called "Empress Arabians."
The reason Romeo looks crazy and like he can't be handled, is because he is hard to catch, hot headed, crazy fast, awful on lunge line, and even Will is taxed in patience sometimes, with his desire to be pampered. Like, how he only likes to wear midnight blue polo wraps, and has to be lead in a matching halter, or a leather one.

History
Romeo- Raised on one of the fanciest Arabian farms in the United States, and trained by their trainers, Romeo had potential that you could practically see. Once well broken in, one of the trainers loved him so much, she pampered him, and practically spoon-fed him everything to which he was National Breed Champion twice for saddle seat and Native Costume riding. One day when his real owner was watching his rides, he realized how talented the gelding was, but how dangerous he was in the arena. And put him up for a 50,000$ sale.
How Will got him- "No, I did not pay 50,000$ for him, I can't obtain 50,000$. I got him through my parents, who knew the person who bought him. The person was complaining about how her new horse was too hot for her, if anything he was "Insane" and "a rip off." My parents told her I was a skilled rider and she trailerd him over. The first time I mounted up and worked his gaits, my parents said they were beautiful, I thought they were smooth, but they were FAST. Our arena is huge, but he cleared one side at the trot in hardly 10 strides. This was due to his long legs and saddleseat background. Poppy, the woman, practically begged us to take him, we payed 25,000 and she hauled ass out."
