    I looked around to make sure nobody was looking. When I was positive the coast was clear, I stood up and jumped into the ocean, disappearing into the waves. I knew I shouldn't be in the water, but I couldn't help it. The water was calling to me. Whispering for me to jump in. I shouldn't have been surprised. Mermaids are drawn to the ocean if it's been too long since they've last gone in, and it's been weeks.
