"Wait, where did you get that bruise on your arm? That wasn't there when I saw you a few hours ago!" Lindsay demanded, seeing a bruise on my arm that I had gotten from when Anthony attacked me. "Lindsay, it's nothing. A Slytherin decided to send a couple spells my way, that's all. It doesn't even hurt that much." I replied, trying to get Lindsay to change the subject. "Those stupid Slytherins! I'm taking you the the hospital wing after dinner just to make sure you don't have any other injuries. You can never be too careful." Lindsay insisted. "Lindsay..." "No 'buts'!" Lindsay cut me off before I could protest. "Fine." I finally agreed. There really was no point in fighting.

  • Zeke looked over at the Griffendor table and over at Elisa. It looks like she's talking to her friend. I wonder what they're talking about. Hopefully it's nothing about when she almost was beaten up by Anthony he thought.

Immediately after dinner, Lindsay grabbed my hand and dragged me to the hospital wing. "Lindsay, I'm fine!" I protested as we rushed through the halls. "Okay. I'll believe you after Madame Pompfry has a look at you." Lindsay responded, not slowing her step at all.
A few hours later, I was finally sitting in my bed in the Gryffindor common room. I had stayed in the hospital wing for about half an hour, and I was perfectly fine, just as I thought. Of course, I couldn't blame Lindsay for caring.

  • Zeke laid down on his bed in the Slytherian common room. I can't believe what I did today. I actually stood up for a Griffendor. Why did I do that? Maybe Anthony was right when he said I was out of my mind he thought.

The next morning, I got out of bed and headed for the Great Hall for breakfast.

Meanwhile, in the Slytherin common room, Anthony was talking to his friends. "Guess what? Zeke helped a Gryffindor girl yesterday!" He said as Zeke passed by.

  • "Now, why would anyone in their right mind help a Gryffindor? Are you in love with her?" Anthony teased him.

  • "I've got my eye on you, Zeke." Anthony said before leaving the common room, his friends following him.

The first class I had after breakfast was defense against the dark arts, with the first year Slytherins. Personally, I had to intention of going anywhere near the Slytherins again, but that didn't matter. At least Lindsay was gonna be in class with me. We waited outside the classroom as the rest of the students gathered, waiting for the doors to open. "What do you think we're gonna learn today?" Lindsay asked. "I'm not sure." I responded.

  • Well I better head to my first class. That'll at least get my mind off of what Anthony said this morning Zeke thought walking over towards the defense against the dark arts classroom.

I saw Zeke join the group of students, but didn't say anything. A few minutes later, the doors opened and we all walked into class.

The professor taught us a disarming spell and assigned us to partners to practice. "Elisa and Zeke." The professor assigned us to work together. "You know, just because you helped me yesterday, doesn't mean I'm gonna go easy on you." I told Zeke.

I pulled my wand out as well. "Good. Expelliarmus!" I said the spell, waving my wand at him.

I was surprised at how well the spell worked. Normally, it took forever for me to learn a new spell. "Great job, Elli!" Lindsay called from across the room. Elli was a nickname Lindsay often used for me. "Thanks! You're doing great, too!" I called back to her.
