So, a lot of you may be wondering just what a nation RP is to start with. Picture a Warriors RP. Now, allow only one player to control a single Clan in its entirety, and put in the rest of the Clans. That's an NRP. You control an entire faction and manage the politics, diplomacy, economy, resources, military, etc. of that nation. It takes more attention, but that challenge is what makes it fun in my opinion.
Those of you who don't know Metroid all that well, don't worry. Here's all you need to know about it.
The Galactic Federation is the biggest power in the galaxy, and is composed of the humans, who hail from the planet Earth. They do support and protect budding civilizations and encourage growth, but they have a bit of a micromanagement problem and like to be in control of everything. Out of the two remaining big nations, they have the most advanced technology and will always advance a project far faster than their counterparts, the Space Pirates of Zebes. I don't know who their leader is, but they're very easy to ally and get along with.
The Space Pirates are the most hated power in the galaxy, as well as the only one that can pose a threat to the Galactic Federation out of all the factions (this isn't including Dark Samus, who may not be appearing here). They are comprised of the Zebesians, hailing from the planet Zebes. They are constantly experimenting with dangerous creatures and substances in an effort to conquer the galaxy. They are led by a resurrected Mother Brain, a biological supercomputer created in an effort to control the metroids. This nation is a bit more difficult to get along with, but make for a very powerful ally.
The third and final big nation isn't actually here anymore, so to speak. They are the Chozo hailing from an unknown planet. They are an ancient civilization, predating humanity's entry to the galactic level and possibly even humanity itself. Through insight and philosophy, they attained enlightenment, allowing them to achieve great works of technology. They engineered an entire species, the metroids (however, they regret this creation), and perfected all forms of biotechnology. However, nobody will ever meet the Chozo anymore, as they have all ascended beyond physical existence. Individual Chozo found unworthy of ascension may be met, but most have cast aside their bodies. Traces of their civilization can be found on almost every world, though the ruins are often fresh because the ascension was less than 50 years ago.
There are two secondary nations that may possibly be encountered, which are the Luminoth and the Ing. They reside on a world torn in two at the dimensional level, with Aether holding the Luminoth, and Dark Aether holding the Ing. The Luminoth are not very different from the Chozo, and are very wise and extremely advanced. The Ing are a tribal faction hailing from Dark Aether, who have little need of technology due to being able to possess more advanced species and using their tech. The Ing and the Luminoth are both engaged in a devastating war, mostly on the Luminoth's side. The Ing are decimating the Luminoth, to the point where the Luminoth are willing to accept all the help they can get. They will be easy to ally with.
Now for the rules.
1. Not every WCRPG rule applies here. I'll list my own rules for this RP.
2. Cursing is fine, but don't overdo it. I'll leave it up to your own judgement.
3. Don't godmod. Just don't. It's no fun for other people when you do this.
4. I am very lenient about auto-hits. My policy on powerplay is that, as long as the attack wouldn't instantly incapacitate them or do too much damage, autohitting is fine. There really won't be that many important characters aside from national leaders, though, so this shouldn't be an issue.
5. Do not claim any of the canon nations. You can make a nation composed of canon species, such as another Zebesian nation, but do not claim a canon nation.
6. Use common sense.
7. Have fun!
I'll not be making a custom nation because I'm going to be playing the GF, Space Pirates, Luminoth, and Ing. I'll also do any NPC stuff that's needed so you guys can focus on running a nation. I will do sheets for these four in addition to a sheet for the Chozo.
Nation Name:
Species:
Important Planets: (include both name and description; you may have up to five planets to begin with)
Important People: (there will be a sheet for important people)
Approximate Population: (A small-ish nation will have around 5 billion individuals)
Ratings: (these are done on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being extremely weak to 100 being the most powerful in the galaxy. All except Influence will start between 0 and 10, because we're budding nations, not established giants.)
Military:
Economy:
Influence: (you will start with a range between 40 and 60. The lower the rating, the worse your reputation is)
History: (focus on what got your civilization into space here)
Other:
Species:
Lifespan:
Physiology: (this includes special abilities stemming from just being this race, for those that don't know)
Anatomy: (Anything not noted as being different from humans will be assumed to be the same as humans)
Appearance: (Same thing with anatomy applies, so you only have to include the differences from humans)
History: (This includes evolutionary ancestry, if you're feeling like doing it, but mostly include a brief recount of their history as a sentient species)
Culture: (food, normal activities, etc.)
Religion:
Other:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Species:
Nation:
Position:
Other:
If you feel like something is missing from these sheet templates, feel free to bring it up. Chances are I might have forgotten something. I certainly feel like I am. I'll get my five sheets put up soon. I have a lot of writing to do for them. Ugh.
