Castor was out hunting near his home when he picked up two very distinctive scents- neither of which was prey. He snarled as he scented the vampire.Oh, no you don't... not in these woods!
He quickly raced off in the direction the scents were coming from, praying he'd be in time.

With a snarl and a muttered oath, Castor's blue eyes turned gold and he leapt at the vampire, knocking him away from the girl he had just bitten and sending him and the vampire rolling on the ground.

Castor fought tooth and claw against the vampire. He knew that he would need to hurry if he wanted to save the girl from this wretched creature's fate. With a snarl he raked his, now claws, across the vampire's chest."I'll say it once more... if you want your life, leave!" he growled in a guttural voice. "You're no match for me in my true form!"

With a furious, deep throated snarl, back fur covered Castors, body, his face transforming completely into a wolf's. He pounced on the vampire, his snarling jaws at his throat.Strike three. You're out. he said before ripping the vampire's head off.
Castor returned to the girl to see that she was still unconscious. Either the change hadn't happened yet, or the vampire hadn't injected any. Either way, Castor had only one choice...
Please... give me the strength of will not to kill her... literally.
With that, he held his breath and sucked out a bit of the girl's blood to determine whether there was venom in it or not, being careful not to release any of his own.

Castor gently lay the girl down and backed away from her, his werewolf body shaking. The good news was there was no vampire venom in the girl's blood, which meant she was safe from the transformation. The bad news was that the vampire wasn't lying- the girl's blood was absolutely delicious... so sweet, like nectar- and it had awakened Castor's own bloodlust, which meant the girl was far from safe from him.Castor backed away a few more paces and his eyes turned from gold to blood red. He moved into a crouching position.
NONONONONONONO!!!!! his human side was yelling. Snap out of it Castor!
His wolf side was thinking only one thing: Prey.

Castor crept closer and closer to the unconscious girl, saliva dripping from his fangs. Just as he was going to make the kill, Castor bit his fore paw instead, howling loudly from the pain. But it man aged to bring him back to his senses. Hobbling around of three paws, Castor shifted back into a human, holding his hand which was bleeding profusely. He quickly tore off a piece of cloth from his shirt and wrapped it around the injury. He then looked down at the girl.May as well finish what I started...
Castor gently picked the girl up, wincing a bit from his injured hand, and carried her through the forest to his home in the mountains.

Castor gently carried her to his cave and set about building a fire to keep her warm. He then got some disinfect and a bandaid to heal the bite wounds since they could still become infected.

Castor was starting to worry about how long this girl was unconscious for. He moved her closer to the fire, then lay down next to her so that his above average body heat could add to keeping her warm.
