  • "The hunters might have a better idea on what the bear might do. After-all they always chase the prey around. But... my guess is that the bear will try to eat up all of our food and then it might try to attack the pups and elders of our pack. Just try not to think about too much for now," Pulse said with a slight smile, trying to go back to being a cheeky and cheerful scout leader again.

"Got it alpha," Scooter said his smile became one of determination for the mission that they were about to go out on.
I just hope that we can catch something for the pack, he thought to himself. It wasn't enough that the prey was just magically disappearing.

  • Smudge flinched at the anger in her voice. Though he caught the also playful tone and her voice and trotted over. " I'm not sure if I should go. Dakota would go crazy if she couldn't find me. Plus, did you hear about the bear?" He barked quietly, a hint of fear in his eyes. Smudge looked unsure, he glanced around carefully. He noticed Dakota was busy and he turned to Kiara " Fine I'll come!" He whispered before going closer to the other pups.

Dakota was sitting down, she heard her name out of skipper and jades conversation. Immediately, the Indian Dog trotted over. Dakota dipped her head to Skipper politely " I heard my name. Am I needed?" She asked. Dakota guessed it was a hunting patrol, but she was unsure.

  • Jade nodded, dipped her head and turned toward Dakota. "Oh, hi, um, can you set up a hunting patrol?" She asked, shutting on her haunches. She looked at her and then glanced back toward the alpha. She sighed and straightened. She thought about what the alpha said. Sure she seemed like she was all straight and perfect, but she was only trying to impress the alpha, as she was becoming a beta soon then maybe an alpha. She needed to prepare. She shook it off and listened for Dakota to answer if she was going to do it or not, or if she was too busy.

  • " of course! I have nothing to do right now. Plus, the pack must wet!" She barked before going to search for her hunters. She didn't see any and she assumed she would hunt alone. Any Hunters available for a hunting patrol?" She called out load.

  • Scooter wagged his tail, "It's great to have you on the pack's patrol, Smudge," the pup glanced at Kiara and smiled, "I think we're ready now. The alpha has to lead the way."

OCC: You guys can power-play a few fake hunters for now, if you want.

  • Kiara touched Smudge's shoulder with her wet black nose, "Don't worry. We will stay clear of the bear." She nodded and lifted her nose up, taking in the scents. Hunting patrol was leaving soon o she would have to avoid them, "Make sure you roll in the snow. It will hide our scent."

The grey pup's fur was covered in snow for she had already had rolled in it. Kiara bounced forward since the snow was higher and much harder to can through. She would make sure the covered their newly made tracks later.

Razor sighed, "Ok, Thanks Pulse." He raised his head, seeing if any scouts were around. He wanted to leave now since it was the best time. But, hearing about the hunting patrol, Razor guessed that it was wiser to wait until they got back.

  • Ok

Dakota heard few replays so the patrol left. Dakota sniffed the air and found a strong scent of rabbit, so the pack split up. She found to rabbits and she easily caught them. After a while of hunting they patrol soon joined back together with a large amount of prey. They arrived back at camp and deposited the prey in the practically empty fresh kill pile.

Smudge nodded with a smile " Glad to be here." He barked before slipping through the hole. Yet, he felt a strange urge to go back.

  • Scooter sniffed the snow, "Hey... Kiara? I have a great idea that might work for hiding our scent and trail," he called out to her as he begun to hide their tracks.

Skipper got up and raced over to a large den. The wind slapped against his long fur coat as started and slowly stopped as he slowed down to a pace. He poped his head inside the den and spotted a large curled up white body at the back of a den.
"Pepper," the alpha sighed when the dog rose his head into eyesight, "We need to talk."

  • Kiara wagged her tail as Smudge appeared next to them. Hearing Scooter, she turned her attention back to the older pup. "What is it?" Kiara asked, tilting her head. She was always interested in new ideas. The wolf-puppy glanced over her shoulder, always on alert in case some patrol comes too close.

  • Thunder sat that entrance of the apprentice. He just sat there watching his pack-mates move around camp. He had another dream about his past again with his father, it was getting annoying having them. It wasn't thunders fault that he left. Thunder took a deep breath. This was his home, now he had to forget about his past and forget father.

  • "We can try making a tunnel under the snow. Kind of like a mouse would do. That way the snow would still look naturally laid out and our scents would be too far under the snow for the pack to sniff them out," Scooter smiled with pride in his idea. He just hoped that the other two liked it.

"Talk about what?" Pepper yawned, still tried out.
Skipper walked into the den and stood like a mountain above the tall dog that was still partly asleep, "About you, the pack, and us."
"That sounds like nothing important right now... unless someone is injured," the wise dog smirked.
"Pepper," the alpha growled in a dangerously low wolf way. The older dog sat up and narrowed his eyes at the wolf-dog in-front of him. If a hybrid like him was mad, then he was walking on then ice.
"I was just joking," the Shaman muttered, "No need to get your fur all knotted. So... start talking because I believe that we both don't have all day to chat." That seemed to calm the alpha down a bit, but his fur was still bristled.

  • Jade sighed and padded into the Shaman's den. She dipped her head to the two and sighed. "Do you want me to tell him?" She whispered into Skipper's ear. She swiveled her ears forward, waiting for his reply. She sat on her haunches and yawned. She placed her paws in front of her, carefully aligned with her fluffy tail, which didn't take long to curl up to her back.

  • "It's best for me to tell him," Skipper whispered back to Jade then glanced at the Shaman.
"First of all," the alpha started in a clear and strong voice, "I would like to talk about the meetings that you always miss out on. As the pack's Shaman, you must try to listen to what the pack knows and maybe even fears."
"They have nothing to fear expect the fact that the very world might freeze into a ball of ice," Pepper muttered.
Skipper sighed, "They are not afraid of that."
"Then what do they fear? Is a sickness about?" the Shaman asked, now alert and interested.
    "He returned."
"You don't mean-!" Pepper yelped like a pup being pulled by the tail.
Skipper nodded, "I do mean him. This time he may even try to start a killing spree. Once he gets a taste for dog blood, he will try to get more."
The Shaman sighed, "Fine. You win. I'll start going to the meetings."
"Second reason why I came here," Skipper began the second topic, "You need to promise me that you will get an apprentice."
"I have already begun the search," the healer smirked.
"I will not and can not-" the alpha stopped, "Wait... what search?"
Pepper's smirk grew, "I know that I am old. My skills can not be wasted so I began my search for a suitable apprentice. When you test the next batch of pups... if one of then gets an even score, I want them to follow under my test. If they fail it would be under your paws, but if they do well, I would want them to be under my guidance."
"An extra test?" Pepper nodded to Skipper's question, "You win. Whatever floats your boat on getting an apprentice. I'm just happy that you finally agreed."
"Patience is what you, young whopper snappers, must learn. But telling that to a wolf, like you, is only a waste of words," the Shaman barked as the alpha left the cave with a happy smile.

    RECAP:
The secondary leaders and the alpha had a meeting about a threat, a grizzly bear had returned from a year ago. The grizzly bear seems to have gotten more cranky, so the beta female and lead of the warriors started to fight, but Skipper broke it up and told the secondary leaders what he wanted to be done for the matter. The hunters are to be cautious while hunting and must be ready to fight to escape if the bear attacked. The warriors must be ready on case the bear wanted to start a killing spree and the scouts are to be the alpha's personally eyes and ears.
Before the meeting was let out, three of the pups snuck out and are planning to explore their one-day territory. One of the pups is giving the leader one an brilliant idea of how not to be found out or tracked down.
Since the meeting has ended, the delta went out on hunting trip with the lead of the hunters. They were lucky and caught a lot of prey. And now Skipper is in a angry wolf-mood state with the Shaman and is talking to him about the matters.

  • The silvery huntress would flick her ears before stalking towards the lumbering bear. Her eyes were narrowed, and she was fortunately downwind. She would rush at the bear by herself, silent and quick. But of course, not strong enough. She was beat down with a large paw, and fell heavily. She let out a yelp before running under the bear and snapping at its stomach.

  • The sharp yelp rang through Jade's ears. She let out a snarl and stayed put. The yelp sounded like a dog's, a dog's that was in her pack. She rushed to the entrance of the cave, her ears swiveling in front of her. She let out a loud snarl. Her heart was beating faster, her flanks heaving as she listened carefully. She stopped her snarls and listened once more, the yelp of pain, probably wasn't the end of it.

  • Skipper started towards the yelps and roars then skidded to a stop. He glanced at the delta female.
"Get Frank, now! Tell him that the bear has started to attack!" the alpha male's bark was mixed with a wolf's snarl. He started to run like the wind. The scent of flesh blood hit his nose as he got closer. Before his eyes he caught sight of the battle in-front of him. He growled and leaped at the bear. The bear was caught of guard as the alpha landed on it's muscular back. The wolf-dog's sharp fangs sliced easily into the grizzly's fur and clamped down as the great beast tried to shake the hybrid off, only to have little.

  • "No!" She whined, getting up and running at the bear. "Guys, go back! You'll get hurt!" She yelled, then grasped the bear's paw in her jaws. Big mistake. She felt bone-crushing fangs dig into her sides and instantly let go of the paw, letting out a loud yelp as the bear threw her to the ground hard and put it's paw on her back to hold her down.

  • Jade nodded and looked frantically for Frank. She headed toward his den. She snarled. "Frank, the bear has started to attack!" She yelled, sternly. She ran toward the entrance and darted toward the snarls and roars. She lunged at the bear and tore at it's large back. She snarled as she sunk her fangs into it's shoulder blade, trying frantically to dislocate it. She sunk her claws into it's back, digging them deeper than where they are. She clung to it, hoping it wouldn't fling her off as she clamped her jaws deeper into it's shoulder.

She would close her eyes before curling her lip into a menacing snarl, eyes blazing. "NOBODY TOUCHES ANY OF MY PACKMATES!" She roared, twisting around and grabbing the bear's paw again before twisting and rolling, using the crocodile move to tear the bear's paw. It roared at her and she snapped furiously at it's muzzle.
