Featherpaw was already awake and her excitement had woken up one or two other apprentices. She hoped to go hunting and practiced the hunting crouch her slightly older friend had taught her. She wanted to impress her mentor, and was scrambling around preparing for it. Then Icestare walked in, and she tried to act casual, just sitting there waiting. She casually licked her chest fur (embarrassedly) and said, "I'm ready when you are." :)

  • "Okay, let's go on to the river," Icestare mewed. "I'm going to show you how to fish." She waited for Featherpaw at the den entrance with a smile.

((Sorry for such a small post))

    ((its ok))
Featherpaw rushed forward, all the excitement she had been holding back coming through. "Ok, ok, now what?" :D. She pranced after her mentor, with a jump in her step. Though she was so excited, she made sure to watch her mentor carefully, knowing that too much excitement might cause her harm. She had after all, heard the story about Cinderpaw.
    [move] :D :D :D :D :P[/move]

  • "First things first, the basics," Icestare began. "Remember to always stand at an angle in which you do not cast a shadow over the river. If do cast a shadow, the fish will see it and move out of the way or swim faster. Just shift your position until you don't see your shadow." Icestare stood by the river and demonstrated.

Featherpaw copied her obediantly. As soon as she had perfected it using a line drawn in the earth, and was able to do so quickly and well, she asked "Can I try it over the river now?". Suspecting the answer was yes, she did so, and waited for approval.

  • "Yes. Good, good," Icestare confirmed. She stood beside Featherpaw in the same stance. "Now, you just have to wait for a fish to come. When one swims towards you, you have to strike with your paws."

  • Featherpaw waits carefully. She sees the glimmer of fish. She scoops in and hooks her paw on the fish quickly. She swipes it up onto the ground, then scratches it to end its misery. "Thank you starclan for this prey" she says. Looking to Icestare for approval, she moves out of the way of the river.

  • "Wow, Featherpaw, your a natural," Icestare mewed in slight awe. "Good job." Icestare smiled and turned to the river. She hooked two small fish at a time and set them next to Featherpaw's prey. "Let's get this back to the freshkill pile and well come back here so I can teach you a few more things."

  • She smiles at the praise and picks up her piece. "I might have practiced a little... :-[. She starts padding toward the nursery, looking to see that Icestare followed.

  • "You came out here before becoming an apprentice," Icestare asked, her voice muffled by the fish in her maw. Her tone of voice wasn't upset, she wasn't. She didn't care if Featherpaw had practiced before becoming an apprentice.

  • "No, I didn't. I practiced the moves in the nursery when Darkpaw became an apprentice. He came into the nursery and taught all of us in the litter." she said, telling the truth. "Sorry about not being clear about how I practiced" she said apologetically.

  • "No, no, it's fine." Icestare padded over to the freshkill pile and dropped her fish on it. She then stood by the pile of kill and waited for Featherpaw to drip off her fish.

  • Featherpaw padded up to the fresh kill pile. She was about to drop it, when she decided to take it to the elders. She wanted to get on their good side. She walked toward the elders den, thinking about things. When she arrived, Tawnyfeather, the oldest elder was telling some kits a story. "Sorry to interrupt, but I brought a fish for you Tawnyfeather." Tawnyfeather nodded in appreciaton and the kits stared in admiration.

  • "I'm going to take you to a special place in the forest of mine. Then, I'll teach you a few fighting moves," Icestare mewed.
