The rather small Meerkat made his way to the decided training spot. He glanced up at the arrow tree and shook his head. Ohhhh how he hated pictures. Maybe Wagner could help him with that too. He was a good guy.

[fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Arriving to their agreed training place a few minutes behind Oblivion, Wagner offered a worried and apologetic dip of the head to the small creature. "I am sorry I'm late," said the member of the culture division, closing the distance between himself and the meerkat as he stood beside him.
Glancing at the younger male through glowing golden eyes, he added, [b]"I am happy to start whenever you wish. Do you prefer to try practicing hunting or fighting?"
"Whatever you want," Oblivion chimed, winking one friendly ebony eye. "As long as its fighting," He added, a grin spreading across his little face. Maybe he wasn't a cat, but he had a few battle tactics, and he hoped to add many more to the list, because his few was in fact only one. The small Meerkat forced himself into an awkward battle position, and his grin grew wider. "Lookie, I've been practicing!" He said excitedly, though he didn't have time to laugh because he fell flat on his face into the snow encrusted ground.
[fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Yellow eyes blinking as the excited mongoose fell flat on his face, the navy blue tom felt torn between helping him up and fighting back a smile. Eventually, however, he just frowned and lowered his head to study Oblivion, "Are you alright, mein Freund?"
Unfazed, Oblivion hopped up quickly a face somewhere between serious and silly plastered on his face. "I just found something really important out," He tried to use a serious voice, but it wasn't really working. "But I'll let you figure it out for yourself," He lifted his head high and closed his eyes. "Now, attack me fry-und" He tried to pronounce the German word Wagner had spoken, but he just soundly like a total goof. Well, he sort of was a total goof.

At the kitten's botched attempt at German, Wagner allowed a faint smile to cross his face that flickered away as quickly as it had come when the meerkat looked back to him. Though he found the scenario amusing, he didn't want Oblivion to think that he was laughing at him in a cruel form so much as he was a friendly one.
Choosing not to thwart the young mongoose's intentions, whatever they may be, he simply nodded at the directions provided to him. While he was somewhat small for a feline, he was still a good deal bigger than the pup, so he mentally warned himself countless times to be careful.
Darting forward in a predictable motion for the time-being, solidly refusing to use his invisibility, he aimed to swipe -- really it was more of a poke -- a sheathed paw at Oblivion's side.

Letting out a small oof, Oblivion decided to try one of the moves he'd come up with, if it was even a move. With great effort (and efficiency) he climbed around the back where Wagner couldn't see him, then started to aim carefully, but decided against it. He would wing it. Hopping out of the tree, the little Meerkat tried to swim towards Wagner in the air, but he was pretty sure he was coming just short. As he landed, he did a small barrel roll, accidently sliding under Wagner's belly, and in a flurry of attempting to get up, might have even poked him.

A bit surprised by Oblivion's tactic, Wagner decided to continue looking forward instead of trailing the apprentice with his gaze as he went behind the tree. In a flurry of movements on the young meerkat's part, he soon felt a brush of ecru fur against his belly; stepping out of the way so that Oblivion could stand up without crashing into him even further, the German warrior studied him for a moment, willing the smile away that had nearly flickered onto his lips.
"That was a nice try, Oblivion," said the male, his dark blue tail coming to wrap around his paws as he took a seat. "But you need to think out your attacks more. A battle is rushed, yes, so you won't be able to take all of the time in the world -- but to simply go in without a preparing thought ... It is more dangerous, no?"
"If you had taken the time to think it out a bit more, you would have perhaps realized I was too far away to jump on. Your best bet would be to attack me while on the ground and lure me towards the tree, then use that move. It was a good tactic, though, yes."
Rising to his paws, tail uncurling and fanning out behind him, he meowed, "Would you like to try again?"

Sorry about this late post, my last one didn't show up and I never noticed.
"Nah," the meerkat mumbled, shaking his head to clear it. "I'll try and dodge an attack," he barked, looking at his mentor expectantly.
