Eliza was not in the house, although she was not too far away. She had left in the night and found a stream in the woods. At the moment, she was washing herself in it, something she hadn't been able to do peacefully for a long time.

Eliza shook out her wet hair and dried herself. After she had been sitting in the sun for awhile, she realized two things. One, she had not told Greyson she was leaving. Two, she had no idea where she was. Swearing, she pulled the good of her cloak over her head and retreated the the shadows of a willow.
