  • "Now hold it raht there!" Applejack ran ahead of Spike, cutting him off from leaving the entire farm. "Now I ain't no mind reader, but I know when somethin's wrong. That, and y'all look purty far from 'fine'. Tell me what's wrong." She lowered her voice a bit before asking, "Is it somethin' ta do with Rarity?"

  • He clicked his tongue, agitation raging inside him, "No Applejack." He said as calmly as he could, as he brushed his claws down his stomach scales as if to straighten them. He glared down at his feet and stated flatly, "I don't like Rarity anymore... Sure she's pretty... But I don't feel that way about her."

  • So that's why he's so upset... Must feel terrible to go chasin' after that one mare so long then just lose your motivation like that. "Aw shucks... An' here ah was thinkin' it was gonna go somewhere soon, what with how yer gettin' older. Tell ya what, come wit' me an' ah can get ya a nice fritter'r somethin'- Us'ly cheers me on up. What'dya say?"

  • He shuffled his feet for a few moments, before his greed got the best of him, "Okay... Alright AJ!" He said, now suddenly cheerful again, "Thank you, you really do so much for me." He admitted a bit sheepishly as he curled his claws together and gave her a bright, yet reluctant smile.

  • "See? Tha's the spirit." With that, Applejack turned to head back to the center house. [color=orange]"An' don't mention it. Ah kinda now how yer feelin' right now, considerin' the same sorta thing happened to me a few times in the past."

  • Spike's ears would've perked, but he technically had none, so his eyes simply widened in surprise, "Really? He asked as he fell into step next to her. He suddenly twiddled with his thumbs again, "If you don't mind me asking... Who would not like you? Your so nice, hard-working, helpful- I'd say as kind as Fluttershy if you'd ask me!" He suddenly crossed his arms, thinking every stallion should've had a crush on this mare, and not Rarity. What'd she have to offer anyways? She was pretty? Yeah, gorgeous, but... Was that all they cared about? She that's all he cared about when he was a kid, but now... Applejack had always been there for him, and he wanted to be there for her.

  • {Spike, your taste is maturing, but your ability to avoid awkwardly blurting out comments needs to catch up!}

    Applejack raised a brow, surprised by the sudden wall of flattery she'd just been backhanded with. "An' where'd all that come from, anyway?" she couldn't help but ask. Spike wasn't usually one to say things like that, and whenever he did, it was usually around a certain unicorn he'd supposedly stopped chasing after. If there was any correlation, then Applejack wasn't sure she liked the direction this was going.

  • Spike felt a knot form inside of him, once again twiddling his thumbs. He looked down at them, his bright green eyes widening as a pink blush spread across his scales. He looked over at her, hoping he wouldn't slip his tongue again today, "Ah, sorry AJ." He apologized, "Your just so under appreciated by almost everypony!" He blurted, "And you've always been there for me."

  • "Well, Ah'm flattered'n all," Applejack replied, still suspicious of his behavior, "but it's just a bit strange you handin' out all these compliments so soon after ya got over Rarity. Don't blame me fer thinkin' ye'r up to somethin'."

  • He shuffled his feet along, watching the dust float up for a moment before settling again. He responded a bit sharply, "Look." He started, narrowing his eyes, "Rarity is my friend and all, but I just gave up on her after chasing after her for such a long time with no progress what-so-ever. No matter how kind, helpful, sweet, or whatever- I was to her, she just used me." He suddenly hissed, clenching his fists, wrath building inside him as his snake-like tongue flickered out of his mouth. He placed his claw on his head, rubbing it for a moment before sighing and setting it back to his side, "Look- It was just... the more and more I chased her, the more and more I grew apart with her."

    It was obvious, Spike had changed after his maturing. He wasn't as good of a dragon he'd used to be, innocent, helpful, sweet, now he seemed opinionated, serious, and simply mature.

  • Obviously, Spike was not a fan of a certain fashionista anymore. Best not to speak of 'er, 'spose... "Alraht... Sorry if Ah struck a nerve there pardner, just bein' careful, y'know? Y'all aren't the only one with a bad record on relationships."

  • Spike cocked his head to the side, stealing a glance towards Applejack, "What do you mean?" He questioned, "You've been turned down a few times before?" He asked, hoping not to bring up any bad memories of her past, even if Applejack wasn't one to cry, never had he seen her even tear up before for that matter.

  • "Once," Applejack corrected as she pushed open the front door. "Was a while back, actually... Anyway, Ah kinda had a crush on this one colt back in mah younger days. Real musical type, sung in 'is own band. Group had masks on, bragged about runnin' round, fillin' themselves wit' anythang they could get their hooves on, gettin' bunch'a mares... Wouldn't think'a me as the 'bad colt' kinda filly, but that's the way it was."

  • "Ah, sorry." He said, giving a nod of his head in thanks, "Why did you like him exactly? Was it only because he was a bad colt? Or...?" Spike questioned as he entered the farm house and looked around, remembering the encounter with Big Macintosh earlier, "And... If I may ask, how'd he turn you down? You don't have to answer if you don't want to... I know it could bring up some bad memories." He said a bit nervously, hoping not to upset her.

  • "Naw, 's fine. Funny story, actually. At first, he did accept my offer, and o'course, I get all excited, like, 'oh C'lestia, Ah'm datin' a rockstar!' that kinda stuff. So then I show up at the place we agreed on and he shows up with this pagasus mare rockin' pink-on-black, that kinda thing." Applejack paused to snicker before continuing, "So Ah start freakin' out, makin' a real big scene in front of this fancy-pants restaurant- Ah think Ah threatened the guy with a cigar cutter, I was outta mah mind! Best part is- Turns out this mare's his sister!" With that, she broke off into a fit of laughter. Whether it was in genuine amusement at her own misfortune or simply a coping mechanism may remain a mystery forever. "So anyway, after we all got that settled, we broke off the date... An' then Ah got banned from his concerts... Ah think he filed a restraining order or two..." The cowpony put a hoof to her chin, trying to better recall the following events.

  • Spike was a bit taken aback at first, but then joined Applejack in the laughter, "Well, that's a bit extreme." He admitted with a chuckle, "A cigar cutter?" He kept chuckling, "Heh... Hehheh... Sorry, AJ, but that's a pretty good story." And, just all of the sudden, his face became gloomy. He sighed as he looked down at his scaly toes, "At least you got to say you've been with somepony you really liked..." He muttered with his frumpy face on.

    OOC;; I have a really good plot idea for this c;

  • {It's funny because cigar cutters are always a man's greatest weakness. ifyouknowwhatimean.jpg}

    Applejack let her own laughter wear off as well, but refused to stop smiling. "Aw, don't be lahke that, sugarcube. Now come on, get'n tha kitchen- Ah still owe ya a fritter." She led the way to the kitchen where she began to rummage through one of the cupboards.

  • OOC; oh my god xD

    Spike gave a nod and let a grin creep onto his face and spread like ants at a picnic. He replied smoothly, "Yeah, okay. But its like everypony has a special somepony now, or at the least almost has one. Twilight with that Flash Century stallion, or whatever. Rarity with that Fancy Pants and surprisingly, Pinkie with Donut Joe, who's a pretty cool pony." He noted off to Applejack, his face not sad nor happy.

  • {Flash *Sentry. A 'sentry', by definition, is a guard appointed to a gate or other way of passage, usually to help defend against dangerous individuals that may pass through.}

    "Can't say Ah 'gree with ya there," Applejack said as she pulled a pastry box from the cabinet. "Joe filed a restrainin' order 'bout a week ago, Fancy Pants and Rarity haven't hit it off yet, and Twi hasn't even spoke with Flash since the whole crown thing... Ya still got plenty'o time to catch up. Come ta think of it, maybe Ah should try catchin' up." She shrugged. "Not really mah priority at the moment."

  • "Yeah, but Twilight contacts him by letter every so often, and won't stop talking about him. He's usually busy with guard duties, so when he answers it's really rare, but he says he loves her." He rolled his eyes, making a kissy face and batting his eyelashes, "Oh Flashy-Poo, how I do miss you darling." He impersonated Twilight than stopped and put on a disgusted face, "I mean, I know I would've been like that with Rarity a while back, but no way I'm like that anymore." He thought for a moment, "And Rarity is just about the same way with Fancy Pants, and won't stop talking about how he broke it off with Fleur."
