    Alex came back later, and looked at Amy. "So, I got you some clothes, and I finished my business in the forest." Alex said, she had some secrets of her own. She pulled a pair of flannel pants, and a shirt. "Here are your night clothes, and the bedroom is to the left down the hall."

    Amy stood up to grasp the material and she felt the roughness, but some softness. Once again she said her thanks and smiled. She didn't ask about the forest, but simply left and walked back toward the bedroom to sleep. She was exhausted.

    Alex pulled a stolen newspaper from her pocket. "Why are there soldiers coming?" She whispered, but found nothing in the paper. So she went into the attic, and slepted on a rafter.

    Amy didn't wake until about midmorning. It was about 10 o'clock or so. She was a little hungry, but not much. She nearly forgot where she was until she saw the room and clothes she wore. Amy then pushed herself up and went out toward the main part of the house.

    Alex was in the kitchen, making oatmeal. "There were some cool soldiers coming this way." she said.

    Amy came in rubbing her eyes and when she heard soldiers her insides went cold. "Soldiers? What for? "she asked as she tried to play it cool. Maybe they wouldn't recognize her if they came. No she was sure they would. They were her own soldiers and they would know who she was. She could just feel it. They would know.

    Amy only nodded. She disappeared back into the room and then reappeared dressed in her tattered garments. They were better than pajamas and they weren't that bad looking. Just a little dirt and some rips on the knees and little things.

    Amy wondered through the racks and decided the best way to go was some simple work clothes. She had seen servants of the castle wear such garments many times as they worked on the gardens. She grabbed two sets of clothes and then walked back to Alex. They were nice clothes.
