Ambervine strolled away from Sunningrocks and as the stars were starting to settle in, she found a large rock that was hard to climb. She clawed her way to the top and sat there. She looked at the moon looming over her. She was so sick of the tears, she was sick of wishing that he was here. She was sick of how she still loved him, sick of all those times she had spent her nights lying to herself, telling herself that he would come back. She was sick of everything. But as much as I love him... I can't stand thinking of him. She just couldn't simply let him go. She hated how she loved him. But he's gone now, so It dosen't matter anymore.
So Sick...

Frostsoul entered a small, woodless clearing and started to make his way towards the other side when caught scent of another cat. Tallpines has been active for the past few days, and the idea that a cat would be here was not all unnormal. Frostsoul stopped halfway through the clearing and searched around. On top of a nearby rock, sat a stately she-cat. He could smell unhappiness.
Frostsoul approached the rock and mewed, "Hi there, are you alright? I am Frostsoul of Thunderclan."
-
Ambervine looked at the cat with tired eyes then surprise. She saw a handsome cat with silver fur and green eyes. She shook her head. "I'm sorry, I'm just tired of all of the things that are going on... " She looked around the now cooling clearing. Her silver and white fur fluffed up against the breeze. Her amber eyes were wide and reflected the moon for a moment. A swift moving caught her eye. And she looked over to see a mouse run in the opposite direction. Ambervine sighed and said, "It's freezing." She grabbed the slight chance this cat might become a friend. Or at least friendly...
-
Frostsoul sensed the longing in her devine voice. The silver of her coat reflected like a dew-covered flower. Frostsoul approached slowly, he was involved wholly. He relaxed his movements and drew in a nervous breath.
"It is okay, you seem to have been through a great deal. I will not push, but if you want to talk, I'll gladly listen. It is very cold, if you would like we can take a stroll to keep warm. If not, we can remain here. So, may I ask your name?" Frostsoul replied evenly, yet warmly.
He was unsure of how close - close was for her, and he did not want to frighten her. So, he remained a couple tail-lengths away. He really wanted a friendship, and the she-cat looked like she would like some company.
Frostsoul purred warmly and waited for her reply.
-
Ambervine smiled and said, "Yes, we can walk." She got up and yawned, her eyes sleepy. This cat, She thought,Is very nice." I actually have been holding a lot in since I got to Thunderclan. No one has asked my story yet." She purred and said, "My name is Ambervine."
-
Frostsoul's soft gaze rode over the intricate details of her face and coat.
So perfect he thought.
"I would love to listen to your story, let's go this way." Frostsoul answered flicking his tail towards a parted portion of the forest's coverts.
"You say, "When you got to ThunderClan""? Frostsoul asked softly, "What happened before?"
His warm ivy gaze settled on her stately markings. This will be a great day, Thank you Starclan! Frostsoul silently prayed.
-
Ambervine smiled and said softly," I lived in a Twolegplace before I came here. It was mad. There was fighting every two steps, everyone fought over food... If they could find any. And everyone.... everyone hated each other. There was constant fighting." She got up and stated walking. The cats green gaze was soft. She smiled and paused. " There was one place that was peacful..." Ambervine's pelt was glossy in the moonlight. "It was called the docks. There was a wooden plank and endless water... And if you got there at the right time, you could see the sky turn fire red and the sun disapear. Someone showed it to me. Another cat..." She looked at Frostsoul with large, amber eyes. "He... was a friend. A good friend. His name was Scar. Then he abandoned me. He wanted to meet me at the dock. I went, but... " She looked at her paws." He said that I was getting too weak and he didn't want anything to do with me."
She looked at Frostsoul, His green eyes sparkling in the dim light. He didn't look happy. " Then he ran off and I didn't know how to get home. So, I heard there was courageous cat with big hearts and would not turn a cat in need down. So I came to
Thunderclan." -
Frostsoul's long ivory coat shimmered like a dew laden field, and his eyes had become deep and insightful. This cat had a story, a long story. Yet, she had a spark, none like Frostsoul had ever seen before. Her tone reflected her words, but her eyes told their own story. She had heart and courage like no other cat he had ever met. She had spunk!
Frostsoul tilted his head just slightly enough to drink in her sweet ThunderClan scents. When she spoke of the cat her voice lifted, but fell hard. He wanted to be the cat to keep it high. He wanted to be the one friendly cat that would not defer her, that would not abandon her. He wanted to be her friend.
After a short silence, Frostsoul drew in a deep and insightful breath, "I am sorry for his actions, frankly I am sorry for him. Scar did not know what he had left behind that day. You are the most courageous she-cat I have ever met. ThunderClan is a great place for you to be. Your heart and strength will be noticed."
"It just seems so odd, that he left so suddenly. I wonder what happened. Tell me about the Sun-Drown place..." Frostsoul said, diverting the path of conversation.
"I was wondering.... would you like to be my friend?" he asked nervously. It seemed like such a harmless question, but it is extremely hard to ask. He did not want to injure her further. However, he was willing to give it a go.
-
Ambervine's spirits lifted and her heavy heart lightened. "Yes... We can be freinds. I would like that... Thanks." His eyes reflected the moon and she knew that they would a have a long-lasting friendship... Or mabye a little more...? She thought but let the breeze carry that small hope away. "The Sun-Drown place was beautiful." She slowed down a little, lost in thought, then trotted up to walk beside Frostsoul, pelts brushing. "Every day, all the cats would wait for that time of quiet peace, that silver lining in the horizen. The endless water was surrounded by a beautiful forest, and long, tall mountians. It was hard to belive a place could be that beautiful with all that ugliness was beside it..." Her words trailed off and they approached a still puddle. They both looked into it. Amberine looked and saw a pale cat with large, scared eyes. She growled and slashed at the water. "I hate my reflection!" She sat beside the puddle, breathing hard.
-
The she-cat's voice reflected throughout the forest with sharp peculiarity. She was so stately, so perfect.
He was glad she accpeted his friendship, but when she looked at him to give her answer, there was a glint in her eyes that Frostsoul had never seen in any cat before. It was similar to the look his mother gave him when he was a kit, but it was different."Good, thank you." he said warmly, flicking his tail to and fro.
---
As she spoke of the Sun-Drown place, Frostsoul closed his eyes in an attempt to visualize such beauty. Heavy crimson flames danced across the black canvas of his mind. There was salt wallowing in his scent cavaties and the monotonous squeak of gulls filled his ears. The beauty was overwhelming. Everything was complete with Ambervine there.
Frostsoul watched as Ambervine sliced at the water with her claws. Quickly he pressed up against her and intertwined his tail with hers. He showered her ear and shoulder with small licks.
"That is not true, your beauty is divine. Like a cat born of the stars. I know it may be hard to see all of that now, but it is true." Frostsoul continued, "I find you to be the most striking she-cat ever. It is not just physical. You have heart and desire. You have been through a lot and you have not broken yet. I believe that I can help you mend. I am not a medicine cat, but I am a friend. Sometimes that is all a cat needs."
A shower of moonlight fell upon the two cats. Above the felines, a shooting star shrieked across the skies.
A sign... from StarClan!! Frostsoul though, thoroughly surprised.
"Look at that," He said, "even StarClan agrees with me."
-
Ambervine's eyes grew wide. His strong body preesed up against her small shape... They shared warmth on that cool night. She smiled and blushed. She looked up as he murmered his words and she saw a star race across the sky, leaving a trail of fine dust behind it. Ambervine looked into Frostsoul's deep eyes and knew what he said about her was true. She was a whole lot happier than she was before, this cat had helped her see the beauty within herself and she wanted to help him. "Thank you. You are a good cat. You are..." She searched for the right words. "Perfect." She looked down and kept her tail intwined in his. "You have helped me so much... And I'm really thankful." She wanted to say more, to say she wanted to be with him, but she kept her lips closed.
-
A hearty purr exploded from his body. He licked her once more and stared at the trail of stardust. It was a beatiful night. Her warm scent floated in the air mingling with his own creating a single scent. It was wonderful. A dim breeze swirled it about and the moon shone brightly on their tabby coats.
"I feel connected to you," Frostsoul said in a shy manner.
He leaned into her and snuggled closer.
"Let's keep going, I want to be with you as much as I can before we go back to the camp." he said. He did not care if they questioned him, but he did not want her in any trouble.
He took a step forward and gave a quick, yet enthusiastic mrrow. He loved her deeply. He just hoped it was not too soon for her.
-
Ambervine followed his step and padded along in the quiet forest. She was combing her thoughts to put them into words. "They are probably looking for us now..." She shook her head softly. Somehow this felt wrong. But it made her feel so... Happy. She curved their trail to Fourtrees, wondering if he'd say anything else. He was sweet, and he made her feel like nothing else mattered. She smiled. "It dosen't matter, though. I don't care." Even if she got back to camp and she would get the most harsh punishments... It would be worth spending time with Frostsoul.
-
Frostsoul purred loudly as she spoke.
"Perhaps, but I'd rather spend time with you." he said softly.
He began to prance. The soft soil beneath him felt like air... felt like he was floating. He began to realize the feeling he had for her. It was a connection so deep. Warmth spread from nose to tail-tip.
Is this the will of StarClan? He thought, Am I ready?
-
Ambervine felt a rumble rising in her chest. She purred in delight. "I would too." She padded alongside Frostsoul and saw he started prancing and laughed. Up ahead, a small puddle was shining in the light. She ran up ahead and splashed Frostsoul with water. Lightning streaked the sky and she looked up. Big, black clouds were forming over the horizen. "Mouse-dung." Ambervine muttered crossly.
-
A light wave of puddle-water engulfed Frostsoul. A delightful chatter escaped his lips. He snickered and splashed back.
The sky lit up in a fantastical display of natures grandeur. For a moment, Frostsoul froze in his tracks and stared at the ominous embankment of clouds in the distance.
"Uh oh," Frostsoul thought aloud, "Well, looks like this is going to be a wet walk!"
He was not going to give up their time even if he looked like a RiverClan cat as a result. He bounded up to his, Ambervine and licked her ear.
"How about we find a semi-dry place and chit-chat?" He asked wearily, " I have a few things I want to ask you."
A furtive smile glance across his lips. He had a really important question to ask her. A very important question. He was slightly afraid of the answer, but deep down... he knew it would be in his favor.
-
A trickle of warmth made Ambervine purr, and look up at the sky. The clouds were racing over to them, and she could hear the sizzle of the rain very faintly. They padded up a slope, brambles catching on their fur. The large shape of Fourtrees loomed ahead and she quickened her pace. She wanted to get to the giant trees before they were too soaked to even dry fast.
-
Frostsoul opened up his gait to catch up with his friend. The rain formed a transluscent barrier pounding down hard on their heals. A small hollow loomed before them. Also, a deeply tangled thicket invited them.
Frostsoul pushed through the tangles and into the dry area. He turned back to see if Ambervine was close by. Her sweet scent made the formidable shelter a little less angry. He began to lick his rain-dappled fur and waited.
This is it... He looked up to the stars (now the ceiling of the thicket) and prayed silently for guidance.
-
Ambervine shook the cold droplets off her fur, and looked around. The sandy clearing was large, but dry. The outskirts of it had thick ferns and four large trunks. She padded up to the large rock that the leaders stood on, and clambered up. This is harder then it looks... She noted, panting at the top. It was really high, and she was awed. She looked down triumphantly at Frostsoul. "But you can't do that!" She felt a strange power being up here, close to the stars. She looked up, but couldn't see past the thick, leafy roof. Only the moon shone through the leafs. The soft light sliced through the darkness and washed over her
-
A purr rumbled throughout Frostsoul's body as he watched her leap smoothly to the top of the Great Rock. It was a fine sight. She looked so happy.
Rabbit scent wafted through the trees; Frostsoul's mouth began to water. He just realized how hungry he had become. He shook the feeling away and sat beneath the Great Rock and watched Ambervine.
The skies were clear, but were obscured by the thick coverts of the forest. Frostsoul pushed hard against the soft, sandy earth and bounded up the side of the Great Rock. He moved closer to Ambervine. Her beautiful tones shined divinely in the moonlight.
"It feels so weird to be up here, yet so good. Just imagine... every leader from this age and back to the times of LionClan and TigerClan stood here. It just feels so... intense." he said staring into her fantastical eyes.
He twined his tail with hers and sat on the rock. He understood that he did not belong on the rock, but the power that the rock exuded was far too invigorating. For the first time in his life, he felt close to his warrior ancestors.
