• "Yeah. I mean yes, Ma'am... of course." She stood up as her new captain strode away towards the entrance to the main deck, feeling a little put-off. This was ship life. She needed to get used to this fast, or she might be in real trouble. As Rune thought, Elsa came back down to the galley, presumably to clean up her mug. "Oh, hi again."

    ~~~~~~~~~
    "The captain is finished with you, then? Let me show you to your quarters. You'll be sleeping right below my rack." After winding through the maze of passageways, they came upon a rather wide room filled with clusters of beds for the crewman. She led the sandslash to one on the far wall, at the very bottom. "You'll be here. Simple enough, right? Now, let's go join the Captain outside. You are the guest of honor, after all. Well... so to speak."
    ~~~~~~~~~

    "Yeah, simple enough." Still not having a good grasp of which way she was going, the sandslash stumbled around until the hit the galley once more, easily finding the deck entrance. The captain and her first mate were already standing at the railing.

  • (this is gonna be it for me as well)

    Tetsuo smiled, "Nice!"

    As their ship drew ever closer to the Draco pirates', Yamagata grew more and more anxious. What if a fight broke out or they requested a duel? He would be useless unless he broke the code of honor hammered into every Lucario since their birth. If he did that, he could never show his face in his homeland again, and his family would probably disown him. Damnit...

    Zari walked up to Yamagata and noticed his anxiety. She pitied the Lucario, knowing his honor code barred him from laying a hand on a woman. " We'll be okay," she said smiling, " I have no doubt one of the crew will step to take your place. You just have to trust their power as much as your own. And if it looks too bad, I'll find a way to get us out of it." They were almost to the Ryuujin (I'm just gonna start calling their ship by name during the narrative parts).

    Maria saw Elsa and Rune come up on deck, " Ah, here for the show?"

    Anna was chuckling to herself. I hope they don't lose too early...

  • //Gotcha. Good place to stop, anyway. : P //

    "Yes, Ma'am. I suggest we pull along their left side as we approach. Our ship lists more to the right, thanks to our previous cargo shift, so in case they decide to counterattack in force, the underbelly of the ship will be that much less vulnerable."

    "You're surprisingly knowledgeable of this ship." Rune smiled at the miltank. She kept surprising her at almost every turn.

    "Why does that surprise you?"

    "Uh... not really sure, actually. Just didn't really expect it."

    Not pleased with this answer, Elsa huffed and returned her focus to her captain and the approaching ship.

  • Dark rolls up his chart, putting it into a modified quiver. He closes the lid, then looks at the enemy ship. "I really hope this doesn't come to a fight..." he mutters, thinking. "Do you want me to make a fog?"

  • (don't worry i'm not dead! :D :D :D :D)

    "this is most defiantly a trap" T.J said darkly "i can't believe Rune betrayed us" he added and looked to Yamagata "your not going to be able to fight, are you Yamagata?" he asked

  • (at least you actually listened to me for once)

    "Betrayal can only be punished in one way"Stine said Irritated"Intimidate death , unless they had to"

  • The Combee looked at Stine with wide eyes, "Maybe not death...how about mortal wounding?" Death seemed a little too harsh, but then again she was betraying them like if they were nothing to her...

    Jess walked up from behind Rune and Elsa, "Will I have a chance to fight?" She didn't want the others to have fun without her, that just wouldn't be fair.

    Spiritus, being her quiet self, walked up to her captain, making almost no noise. Instead of trying to start a conversation, she simply stood next to her captain in silence. Being there incase he needed anything, what else would a Cabin boy(girl) be there for? Her position was to be there for him, almost like Yamagata, but of course of lower rank.
    Narrowing her eyes at the enemy ship, fear and excitement ran through her. A strange mix of emotions, but she hoped it's what everyone else was feeling too. Please let this go well, please...

  • " No..." said Tetsuo, responding to Dark, " And I'm actually inclined to agree with Stine, Mcllis. Trust is the highest gift one can give, so taking that gift for granted and throwing it back in the giver's face is the ultimate insult. In my book, no title or word is more filthy than 'traitor'. " He put his hand on Spiritus' shoulder.

    Yamagata swallowed, gritting his teeth. "No..." he said quietly, " I'm sorry."

    "Nice thinking Elsa," Maria said to the miltank, then to no one in particular, " Pull up along their port side."

    "Yes, Captain." came Yukime's voice as she appeared at the helm. They finished their turn and pulled up alongside Tetsuo's ship.

    Looked down at Tetsuo and laughed, " You can't possibly have thought this was anything other than a trap? Even if you were stupid enough to think Rune had taken out my entire ship in less than an hour, I know your first mate isn't that naive." However, her laughing was interrupted.

    "RUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!" Tetsuo called, intent on speaking to the sandslash, not particularly caring about Maria's words.

  • Spiritus stayed steady at Tetsuo's side, but inside, she was a nervous wreck. This could either way, and rather quickly too. And to top it all of, Yamagata couldn't fight. Her body tensed, but kept her face free from any emotion.

    Mcllis nodded at his captain's remark, he did make a very good point. And it seemed that Stine's wish would soon play out, if things went accordingly. Which he was a little fuzzy about, the odds were completely out of their favor. Swallowing hard, he tried his best to stay calm.

  • Stine walked next to the captain and spirit "We must not lose hope or doubt our selfs it may have been my wish but actions must make it come true."

  • T.J cracked his knuckles "i'm ready to make them pay" he growled his smile more of a challenging one now "don't worry Yamagata we can handle this so you wont have to break your honor" he told the lucario reassuringly

  • //Sorry guys, turns out my job is keeping me busier than normal. If someone wants to take over Rune and Elsa until I get off of work, that's fine. I don't like that idea, but I would hate to slow this RP down, unless you guys don't really care about the speed of it. I'll let Ulgamoth decide what's gonna happen.//

    Rune peered over the railing of the ship, looking down on her old captain and crew mates. Her eyes wandered off, looking for the exact spot on the deck which held her precious cargo underneath. She smiled nervously, not entirely liking the situation. "What do you want, Tetsuo? I'm with this crew now if you couldn't tell."

  • " Thank you, " Tetsuo said, smirking, " That's exactly what I wanted. To hear it from your own mouth. Now I'll have no regrets when I'm standing over your ashes."

    "Not so fast Tetsuo, " Maria interrupted, moving Rune behind her, "I like to look out for my crew, and I'm guessing you do as well." She took his silence for agreement. "Let's only put ONE crew member's life on the line instead of risking the lives of everyone here and both of our ships."

    Tetsuo was silent for a moment processing what she said, " So you want a duel."

    "Precisely." Maria said, then she grinned, " First mate against first mate."

    " We can't do that." Tetsuo answered immediately, without even asking Yamagata. " We'll fight your first mate, but it won't be with ours."

    Yamagata smiled inwardly. It was moments like this when he was reminded why Tetsuo was his friend.Tetsuo didn't even see him breaking his code of honor as an option.

    "Very well..." Maria said, everything going according to their plan, " Then who do you think could possibly stand up to a Tyranitar with years of battle experience and not even one loss in a duel?" This was too easy.

    "Our Technician." Tetsuo answered simply. He then turned to TJ and spoke in a low voice, " Before you object: you're faster than her, none of her ground-typed attacks will effect you if you just stay in the air, and she's weak to ground type moves. If you can land a few Earthquakes around her, she'll fall. You just have to stay out of reach. You'll be open when you have to hit the ground for the Earthquake, but you've gotta get outta there fast. Tyranitars are known for physical strength...and let's face it, you're not exactly a tank."

    Zari came over and whispered to them, " If you're in a pinch and she's about to knock you senseless, or if you really need an opening badly, " she grinned, knowing they wouldn't expect the next part, "Compliment her looks."

    Tetsuo was livid, "I can't believe you're joking at a time lik-"

    Zari put her hands up in defense, "I'm not joking. I like to find people's weaknesses so I can take advantage of them if necessary. Anna thinks she's really ugly. If you can sound as sincere as possible while complimenting her looks, I can guarantee she'd at least pause for a second. Haven't battles been decided in less time than that?"

    Tetsuo thought for a second then turned to TJ, " Do it, but only as a last resort. It's a bit underhanded for my tastes."

    "Not to mention it'll only work once," said Zari, " Anna's not stupid, she'll realize she's been had after you take advantage of the opening. Then she'll be even MORE pissed because the compliment wasn't genuine. So I'd save it for the finishing blow."
    ________________________________________________

    Exactly as planned. Maria had them eating out of the palm of her hand. "If you insist." she said, gleeful on the inside, " Do you mind if the Technician is your opponent Anna?"

    "Not at all." mumbled the Tyranitar.

    "And are you willing to duel?" she asked TJ.

  • T.J smirked and nodded "let's do this" he said energetically and jumped into the air just as he begun his descent flygon wings sprouted from his and and started to flap keeping him hovered about a meter above everyone's head

  • "Um... ma'am? Did we even set the terms for the duel?" Rune kept her guard up against T.J., even though she knew that Anna was his target. Still, she stayed close to Maria, knowing that he wouldn't dare strike near her. "What happens if we win? Or they win?"

  • (sorry it took so long, I've just got a lot of crazy stuff going on, plus my internet was being janky)

    " The terms of the duel will be this:" Maria began, " It will be a one on one fight in a location that gives neither of the combatants an advantage. Anything goes: hits below the belt, traps, etc."

    Tetsuo grinned, " And if we don't accept your terms? Lemme guess: you blow us sky high?" He took the gleam in Maria's eyes as a 'yes', " Well, I guess we have no choice then...We accept. But what's the incentive to win?"

    "Anything." Maria said, watching his eyes grow wide, " If I can do it, I will. However, if you lose, you give me everything you have; food, water, weapons, cargo, even the clothes off of your backs. You also give me Zari to face judgment for her betrayal."

    " Alright, seems fair." he said, catching Maria off guard. "I already have something in mind."

    What could he possibly have in mind that could make him think of that as a fair trade...

    Yamagata smiled to himself. She had angered Tetsuo, endangered the lives of his crew members, referred to all of them as 'incompetent', and just generally done everything in her power to incur his wrath. He would humiliate her and make sure she could never pose a threat to them again.

    "Anyway," Tetsuo said, " How are TJ and Anna going to get to this location that doesn't provide either of them with an advantage? Fighting on ships not only endangers everyone, but also puts Anna at a massive disadvantage."

    "I was getting to that," Maria said as a girl walked up to stand beside her, " This is Connie, she'll get them there."

    Name: Connie
    Age: 19
    Gender: Female
    Pokemon: Kadabra
    Appearance:
    Pirate crew: The Draco Pirates
    Postion: ??
    Personality: EXTREMELY smart. She uses logic to approach every situation, not taking emotion into account most of the time. Brought up in a culture that was completely based on acquiring knowledge, that believed emotion got in the way of logic, and thought that women were too driven by emotion to be logical beings. They believed, and the girls were taught from a young age to believe, that women simply existed to create new generations. Connie's father thought differently and educated her, which got them both exiled. Maria found her after her father had died.
    Signature Technique: Teleport

    The new girl didn't wait for introductions or greetings. She walked over to Anna, grabbed her hand, then held her other hand out to TJ. "Take my hand. I will teleport us to the battlefield, and teleport us back."

  • (I'm sorry too, I've been freakishly busy of the late.)

    Spiritus looked down at her hands to see that they were shaking, Is this normal? Had she gotten to some tight spots before? Of course, but not once did she leak any emotion. But this time, she was much to worried, scared, and pure angry. She hated Rune and the rest of the her new crew, the only problem was that she had to respect them. Being a all women crew, Spiritus just had to show some respect. Looking back up, she saw Connie and knew this would probably be the last time she saw T.J. before the battle.

    The Combee fluttered his small, useless wings in a nervous habit. Biting his index fingers knuckle, he thought he would make it bleed. He absolutely hated this idea, but he knew they were goners if they didn't agree. Being such a happy person, he didn't like to see fights, let only whole duels.

    Jess smiled as she looked over at the other ship, Anna won't lose, I just know she won't. She looked up to Anna, and wanted be exactly like her. Tough and strong, always ready to fight. But alas, she was just a mere Drantini.

  • T.J smiled reassuringly to his crew mates "don't worry guys i'll be back before you know it" he said with confidence "and Captain i can't wait to see what you have in store for these guys" he said and grabbed Connie's hand "let's do this" he spoke to Connie with a nod

  • Dark nods a little, keeping the clouds up, just in case that the pirates betrayed them. He looks at his captain, then at T.J. "Don't lose." he says, smiling weakly. He was really nervous, and his control over the storm was showing it quite clearly.
