Teddy wandered the streets, if that was what they were. He had just got adopted by some twolegs, and he was positively joyful. Life was so much better without a cage. This was so much better than that stuffy 'store.' Why should twolegs do that, anyway?
New cat in town!

Potsticker, a black-and-white she-cat, was perched on a brown fence. She looked at the birds timidly, wondering if one day she would ever catch one. She noticed Teddy from the corner of her green eye and just gave a warm smile.
-
Teddy nodded. His white and gray pelt sparkled. His green eyes weren't clouded with confusion anymore. He understood the ways of cats.
-
Potsticker grinned, and embarrassingly fell from the fence. "Hey, cat! I haven't seen your face before," she mewed.
-
Teddy spun around. Someones talking to me! "I'm new around here." Teddy explained. "Before, I was stuck in some stuffy Twoleg 'store'. I was stuck in a big cage."
-
Potsticker wrinkled her nose. "You went there too?" she mewed. "My owners bought me just in time!"
-
Teddy nodded. "Did you go to the one with the big cedar tree?"
-
Potsticker nodded. "Sure did," she mewed.
-
Teddy tipped his head to the side. "Does that mean when one of us get brought home, the store gets a new cat in?"
-
Potsticker nodded an unsure nod. "I guess," she mewed.
-
"Huh." Teddy didn't really like pet stores, but he was still glad his Twolegs came when they did.
-
"The owners of the store were about to give me this shot that would kill me, but my owners came at the last minute!" Potsticker mewed.
-
"Why would they do that?" Teddy asked, confused. "Why would they want to kill you?"
-
"They needed more space for other cats," Potsticker mewed.
-
Teddy shivered. Twolegs were so careless!
-
Potsticker sniffed. "My sister... she didn't make it in time," she whispered.
-
Teddy made a weird sound. "I'm so sorry." he whispered.
-
Potsticker blushed as she instinctively rubbed against Teddy. "It's fine," she whispered. "At least I'm with you."
-
Teddy nodded.
-
Potsticker rubbed against Teddy. "You're very warm," she purred.
