No Cheating

Alright, eternity is a long time. Well...it's all of time, actually. And Nightbloods, as we know, mate for eternity. And over that time, there might be a few chances where eyes wander and and...hearts as well. And, we all know that a heartbroken Nightblood is highly dangerous. So...Nightbloods have a anti-cheating method.

If a Nightblood is mated with a dragon (Sylfyn, and technically Azzy too) they have a tattoo of them on their back. It's a full body picture that would take up their whole back, along with their mate's name. On males, the head would be near their shoulder blades and the rest of the tattoo would go down. Because commonly, they didn't wear a shirt or anything to cover their backs.
Females, however, since they would have something covering their breasts, their garmet would have to cover the top of their back, so, the image would start with the head at the small of their back and go up, so the face of the dragon was visible.

If a Nightblood is mated with another troll (Lepída) then right under where their top would be, their mate's name and symbol were tattooed there, along with their blood color (which would be the ink color of the symbol).

If a Nightblood was caught cheating, they would be beaten to near death in public, and given only one more chance. You do it again, you're either killed or exiled, depending on how merciful your victimized mate is.

Esprit's hiss on the other hand makes her sound like a spawn of Satan. I mean, since we all can agree she probably is one.

Hair

So as we know, in Nightbloods, hair grows fast. In females, it's their head, in males, it's facial hair.

A Lamia loses their hair while shedding, but it regenerates quickly only the . In other circumstances, like getting a haircut, theirs grows normally.

Laughter isn't the best medicine...it's blood

Because the very first lamia was cursed--the specifications on her curse and surrounding it vary; stories change wherever you go, and this may be because of the secrecy most Lamia's tend to have over their race, much like Nightbloods--all of her descendants have been cursed, too. Which to say is...every Lamia ever. Ever Lamia is born with some disorder. It is very well known Esprit's is schitzophrenia.
However, every Lamia has their own cure out there somewhere in the form of another troll. Whomever it is, to the Lamia it can cure, they are known as the 'Cure Blood.' A Cure Blood is usually someone who has a strong will or an unbroken heart. Even better if they have both. A Lamia can be rid of their ailment in two ways. They could murder their Cure Blood and drain them dry, and then go about their merry way without having to worry about their disorder anymore. Remember that saying 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away'? Well, that's kinda the second solution. Better worded as 'a sip a day keeps your crazy away'. Yep, it only takes one nice gulp a day. (Note: A 'gulp' and 'sip' are measurements that vary through each Lamia)

Ravenn is Esprit's Cure Blood, which is why she first intended to kill him and...on her worse, darker days, where her mind is plagued by darkness, is sometimes still tempted to. So, after being almost two whole years without that limey goodness, that girl is off her rocker inside but refuses to tell Ravenn.

Nightblood Teeth

Nightbloods, as we all know, are practically built for war and fighting. Had Azmarathnien not been forced into a collar, he would've come back a-okay. Anyway, because nightbloods are made for fighting, they have some of the thickest, sharpest and strongest teeth of trolls, if not the most. However, sh-t still tends to happen. That, and because of their dangerous job/lifestyle, they have to be in top shape and prepared for anything. Which is why nightbloods literally have infinite teeth. They lose a tooth? No big deal, it'll be replaced in a few days...a week at max. However, this regeneration actually never stops. So, if a nightie doesn't lose their teeth, new ones try to force the old ones out about every month or so. And when brand new, deadly teeth try to force out sturdy ones that are probably still in decent shape...let's just say that doesn't feel too good, even to a calloused nightie.

So, to alleviate this pain, nightbloods basically teethe all their lives. Azmarathnien keeps animal fat to chew on when his (and maybe even Asterias's) teeth ache. Sylf does, too. And you often know when the new teeth are coming because, well, nighties will get a little crankier than normal.

Esprit's Persona(s)

As we know, Esprit almost seems to have two completely seperate personas; the almost cruel femme fatale, and the sweet, fangirly weeaboo nerd. While she tells Ravenn that the darker side is the real one, she's lying, but she honestly doesn't know it. Her lusus was correct in telling Ravenn that as a youth, Essie was sweet and precious. However, we all know the cruel things fate has in store for her. Yet, tragedy after tragedy, she still remained an open book full of sweet words. It wasn't until the death of her beloved Dionys that the more heartless behavior we're more familiarized with shows up--after Esprit get's her first taste of actual trollian blood, having gone with alternatives all her life. So, she almost starts to tick like Ravenn and nightbloods with the whole 'conceal, don't feel' thing. Her violent demeanor was merely a shell...a facade to guard the broken little girl that she truly was. Over the years, though, the hostile woman slowly begins to overtake the weak little girl, whom Esprit is slowly forgetting, because the girl is dying. We first observe this little girl coming back in IDTFY, however its noted she doesn't stay long. That's because Esprit's continually taking on trauma on a regular basis, and the weak girl can't take it, so the murderous b-tch returns. However, at that point, it was on Esprit's own free will; she came to the decision that the little girl couldn't handle Ravenna and the lifestyle that came with him, so she adapted in some form of...Persona Darwinism, I guess? But, it stopped becoming her choice once her darkness came. It fed the evil b-tch in her and locked away her more 'truer' self, which now is so weak and frail and dangerously close to a breaking point, where she can't access it except when the darkness/her dominant, eviler side deems it safe to do so. Which is next to never. Ravenna could be more than capable of fixing it, if he could even find the problem. But if that sweet self is broken, Ravenna will have to spend the rest of his days with the near reflection of his own cold, embittered personality.
