  • Brightpelt stuck her nose out of the musty den. Her tongue poked out and tasted the fresh air. It carried a hint of grass and rain. "First one to catch a vole wins!" she yelped back to the den. Her mate, Darkstar groaned. "How can you be so cheery in the mornings?" he moaned. She batted his ear playfully then stared at the grove of trees surrounding their clearing. she saw a flash of movement in the bountiful trees and raced away. He stumbled after her.

  • The morning sun was shining through the few leaves on the trees in the vast forest. Dead leaves from leaf-fall covered the ground, and the air was cold and crisp. Leaf-bare had certainly arrived.
Deep in these woods, a young cat was padding along, her muscles aching from her night in the cold. She had a fiery red pelt which wasn't well looked after; she seemed thinner than she should be. This leaf-bare was filled with storms and freezing cold nights, so food was scarce for all the creatures in the forest. Spotting movement, the she-cat crouched low; her gleaming green eyes were scanning the area for the animal that had caused this movement.

  • Neonflash crawled out of the queens den. It had been a long, hard winter and she was the only queen who had survived. Her two kits, Willowkit and Sapkit yowled in the background as she trotted over to the pitifully small freshkill pile, selected a bony vole for herself and a mouse for her kits. She then dragged them back and stuffed them into the mewling kits mouths to shut them up. She was, of course, incredibly fond of her kits, but sometimes they were insufferably noisy.

PS: A) if ya wanna add an extra message, write it like this. B) you have to write a list of the cats you have on your thingymawotsit so i can see what cats you have. Scotty and Paris, you dont have to ask to add a cat. just put it on.

  • Bluevelvet slid out of the medicine den and caught a passing warrior. "Do me a favour and snatch some dock leaves if you get the chance. We're running low." He growled an agreement and stalked off with his tail in the air. She shook her head. Warriors were getting more and more arrogant every day. She wiped her claw absent-mindedly on a piece of moss, then staggered back as the whirlwind of energy that was Brightpelt shot past, followed by her mate and the Clan leader, Darkstar. They toppled into each other and collapsed, yowling with laughter, beside the freshkill pile. Each dropped several juicy voles and mice, and Brightpelt had even bagged a robin. "I see the freshkills running free and fast again," she commented to them. "Yes, it seems so," replied Darkstar, his voice still shaking from supressed laughter. "You can probably see that its put us in a good mood again." Bluevelvet shook her head to herself and wandered back to the medicine den, their wild laughter echoing aroung the clearing after her. "Worse than apprentices," she muttered.

  • A young queen, just 8 moons wandered through the lush, thick forest, but all she could see was blood dripping down into her eye. The leaves wihspered in the breeze, but she heard the gasps of her dying family and tasted the acrid smoke and salty tears. This place was lifeless to her, but she had to keep going, because although she welcomed death, her growing kits deserved a better future.

  • Taking a deep breath, the loner could smell the group of cats, and the blood. However, the scent of blood was in a different place to the group of cats, which he could tell contained two kits. That seemed like a safe place to stay, so she headed in that direction. Once there, the she-cat crouched down low at the edge of the clearing, blending in with the dead shrubbery.

  • The warrior finally returned with a handful of dock leaves that had turned slightly limp in the sunny, dry air. Bluevelvet thanked him and laid the leaves in a small alcove in the slightly cooler medicine den. The den was contructed against a tree by piling sticks to create a small semicircular space, the floor padded with leaves. Since the den had to keep many herbs cool and fresh, the ceiling was much closer to the ground than any of the other dens. "Oh and by the way," commented the warrior as he exited the den, "A new scent was found on the grounds today. Oh, its none of the other clans," he said, seeing the look on her face, "But it may be a loner." Then he left, leaving Bluevelvet to ponder on this new information.

  • The blue lynx point crouched low to the ground, her soft belly skimming the hard-packed soil as she desperately tried to hide her scent among the fragrant leaves. You can't hide forever... the voice pulsed around her mind and forced her to her feet as she stumbled with her head held high and her fragile body termbling into the heart of the foreign camp.

  • Darkstar froze. So did Brightpelt. Bluevelvet walked out of the medicine den, saying "These dock leaves are..." she trailed off when she saw the loner. Then, as one every cat in the clearing had their hackles raised and were growling at this strange cat. Then Darkstar stepped forward, ready to defend himself against any sudden attack. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

  • Slowly she blinked her huge sea-green eyes and bowed her head respectfully to the cat clearly marked out as the leader. "I am Junopaw, formerly of Elixirclan." her voice was clear and travelled far, without even an echo of the nerves stirring deep inside her. "I was not safe in my old clan and so I have made my escape and am searching for a new home." She locked eyes with every cat in camp one by one before continuing. "In return for my safety, should you choose to accept me as part of your clan, I can offer my kits, so they will be made warriors of your great clan. I also have an extensive knowledge of herbs, if that is any use to you." Once again, her gaze fell on Darkstar. "Do you accept my offer?"

  • Seeing the loner arrive in the camp, the flame red cat stepped out to join Junopaw.
"I am Crimson, a loner. I have lived clan life once, many moons ago, before we went our separate ways I was known as Crimsonblade. I can offer my fighting and hunting skills, and also my tacticall intelligence." she announced, bein respectful towards the small clan.

  • Darkstar was taken aback with surprise. Two loners! He glanced towards Bluevelvet, momentarily ignoring the two loners before him. "Really, Junopaw is up to you. Are you ready to take on an apprentice medicine cat?" Bluevelvet hesitated, then nodded. Then she turned and smiled warmly at Junopaw, making it clear she was welcome. Then Darkstar turned back to Crimson. "If you are enroled in this clan, you must be ready to take on the responsibilities that come with it." There was silence in the clearing as everyone stared hopefully at Crimson.

  • "I understand the responsibilities of being a clan member." the loner stated calmly. "I will hunt to feed you and give my life to defend you."

Junopaw bowed her head respectfully to the leader and medicine cat before slowly padding to Bluevelvet's side, the nerves that shook her body still not quite calmed. On edge, she waited for Darkstar's acceptane of Crimsonblade, scared for what these decisions could mean for her, and her new clan's, future.

  • Crimson shot a quick smile at Junopaw, before returning her gaze to Darkstar.

  • Darkstar returned to Crimson and Junopaw. "Then we will accept you into our tribe. Junopaw, you are to complete your training as a medicine cat with your new mentor, Bluevelvet. However you are to give up custody of your kits. Crimson, you are to be reinstated as a warrior and your new name is to be Crimsonblade, if you are both willing to accept." Brightpelt smiled encouraginglly at Darkstar and he nodded back, hoping that he had made the right decision.

  • Junopaw opened her stormy sea-green eyes and said the only thing she could. "I accept. I thank you for allowing me to live in your fine clan." She closed her eyes again, a tiny thought niggling in the back of her mind, I can't give up my kits! But I can't go back to Elixirclan...oh my sweet kits, how will I ever cope? She was screaming with pain silently, though her pretty face betrayed no emotion. At least we'll be in the same clan, I suppose...

  • Crimson, now Crimsonblade nodded respectfully to her new leader. "i gladly accept my new name and my responsibilities as a clan member." she replied, keeping her face straight. She could become excited and emotional at a later moment.

  • Darksatr allowed an encouraging smile to cross his face. "Well, then, what are you waiting for? There's work to be done!" He grinned at the two new members of his clan and Bluevelvet stepped forward to guide Junopaw to the medicine den and Brightpelt stepped forward to show Crimsonblade around the forest.

  • Crimsonblade smiled at Darkstar, before following Brightpelt back into the forest. She knew that she had to take as much in on this tour as possible.
