  • ooc: So my character spirit has just been brought back from the dead with some lovely powers. she has no memory of anything except her death. She's now passed out in the very same woods she died at.. and the same woods she meets you.

ic: Spirit weakly picked herself up off the shore before she fell down once again. she growled out of frustration and attempted to stand up. She was finally able to stand after at least 15 minutes of trying to stand up. she then inched her way over to a willow tree near her and hugged it. "thank you tree, for being where you are.. so.. much. "

  • ((My chatacter's name is Alekto, but he prefers to go by Lek. He has black hair and stormy gray eyes and the tips of his hair are bleached white and dyed neon blue. And could he be a warlock, please?))

Alekto was simply wandering through the woods, whistling brightly. The seventeen-year-old had a book in his hand, and if someone was to look closely, it was a worn paperback copy of Isaac Asimov's works, volume one. From the looks of the book, it had been read many times and, even though Alekto had tried his best to keep the book looking its best, the cover was aging and the pages were yellowing from use and age. Anyway, Alekto was headed for his favorite reading spot; sitting beneath the willow tree on the shore.

  • (sure. XD )

Spirit sighed and continued to attempt to get her bearings not letting go of the willow tree. "Ok. whoever's there. shut up for two seconds." She grumbled looking around to see no was near her at all. she then had a cold shiver run down her back. "wait.. wait. what.. " She started muttering things and eventually she let go of the tree out of panic. "How am i here? what am i? Why am i 17? How. AM I ALIVE." She whispered to herself while she ran around in circles panicking..

  • Alekto reached the shore with his book only to see a girl about his age going in panicked circles. He blinked at the sight for a moment, his stormy eyes failing to comprehend what he was seeing. No one ever came out to the shore anymore really. So Alekto had grown used to being there alone. The warlock blinked again, before deciding he should say something.

"Uh, are you okay?" Alekto asked, his head cocked to one side a bit, making some of his hair fall into his eyes, shadowing the stormy gray.

  • Spirit paused and turned to looked at Alekto. "eh.. yeah.. i'm just wonderful.." she said giving alekto a nervous smile. "By any chances.. have you ever heard of some one coming back from the dead..? - i mean yeah that's a weird question but.. still.. have you? " she asked obviously hoping that she wasn't the only one.

  • Alekto blinked at the girl again. "Uhh… people coming back from the dead… Well…" Alekto really wanted to say no, since that's the answer any human would give and he was supposed to be seeming human, but the girl had just been panicking and Alekto finally figured he should tell the truth. "… I've heard rumors of it happening, but I've never seen it happen or even proof that the rumors are true." He almost said that it would take some serious warlock mojo anyway, but Alekto had a feeling that may raise some questions. Questions that he probably wouldn't want to answer. "So… why did you ask?" Please don't tell me you want to bring someone who's dead back. It could be a bad idea, he thought, silently pleading with her.

  • Spirit sighed. well, he seems nice enough but he's going to think i'm crazy..but what can i lose? i'm already been dead. Spirit looked over at the river. "Well.. you see.. i.. think i may have done that." she said. "But.. i'm not really sure. i most defiantly was at one point dead... so.. yeah." she shrugged.

  • Alekto stared at the girl for a moment. Then he opened his mouth to say something-- but he had nothing to say, so he closed it. He did this two or three times again, looking a lot like a gaping fish, before he finally had something to say.

"What?" Alekto really had only heard rumors of people coming back from the dead, but most of that was with the guidance of a really powerful warlock. So Alekto blinked at the girl some more. The only intellectual things going through his head was literally "What? What? What?" going on a short loop. And then he realized that was rude. "Uhh… sorry, that was rude… I just… I never thought I'd ever see something like that… uhh… sorry."

Then he realized he had yet to tell this girl his name. "Oh, whoops! Where are my manners? Ah haha, I'm Alekto, but, please, call me Lek." Alekto never did like his full first name; it always seemed awkward to him, even if it was Greek.

  • Spirit just shrugged and crossed her arms akwardly. "i'm..purple." she sighed looking over at Alekto. "i'm no sure how it happened.. or anything like that.. the only thing i can remember is my name and death.. which i'd rather not talk about.." she said before she mumbled something afterward.

  • Alekto nodded, but he didn't have any answers for Purple. He wished he could help, but Alekto was stumped and he wouldn't even know which books to look into for answers. If there even were any books with answers. Alekto had never been fascinated with death; he didn't have a morbid curiosity for that kind of stuff, magic or scientific. When he was in school, he even refused to take part in dissections, so Alekto knew he wouldn't be any help in the forte.

"I can't help with any answers on that area, sorry," Alekto said. He really didn't know what to say here. Purple had been dead; she couldn't go home, she had been dead. So, Alekto didn't bring that up. Really, the only conversation he could think to start was about science fiction, and that may not be the best conversation to try and start. After all, Purple had been dead. Who would want to talk about Isaac Asimov at a time like that? So, to prevent himself from saying something stupid, Alekto stayed silent.

  • Purple just sighed and sat down in the sand. "Well.. You can continue on your day.. I 'm sure I'm not going to do much. Since it took me at least 20 minutes to be able stand on my own."

  • Alekto raised an eyebrow at Purple before sitting down next to her. "You think I'd leave now? C'mon, I just made a new friend!" Alekto said, a lopsided grin on his face. He never did like seeing people looking down. Alekto always was too empathetic. "I'll stay here and keep you company! We can talk about stuff!" Alekto had his head cocked to the side again, smiling at Purple with his eyes shadowed.

  • Alekto thought for a moment. "I dunno… what's your favorite color?" Alekto grinned, seeming quite childish, even though he looked-- and was --seventeen.

  • Purple looked back over at the river. "Well, surprisingly it's royal blue. Not as you would except, purple." She said.

  • "That's cool; royal blue's a regal color," he said. "But I personally prefer electric or neon blue. See?" Alekto pointed to the neon blue color of the tips of his head with a grin. "So are you a dog or a cat person?" Alekto asked, changing the subject.

  • "But so are kitties!" Alekto said, defending cats, even though the warlock actually wasn't sure if he was a cat or dog person. But, instead of dwelling on the subject, Alekto asked another question. Or, questions. "Harry Potter or Twilight? Lord of the Rings or the Chronicles of Narnia? Star Wars or Star Trek?" Alekto liked books quite a bit. And he couldn't keep himself from asking, "Isaac Asimov or Philip K. Dick? Or maybe you're a Wells fan?" Alekto didn't entirely realize that some people, like those who weren't huge science fiction fans, may not know who the authors he listed were. Not everyone was as into science fiction as Alekto.

  • Purple gave Alekto a awkward smile. "I actually have no idea what any of those are..but the sound slightly familiar." Purple shrugged.

  • Alekto had to bite his tongue to keep from launching himself into an explanation of the books, because he'd go through the summaries, the plot, the characters, who was a dynamic and who was a static, and the pros and cons of each book if he started. So he stuck with a sheepish smile and a few words "Well, don't worry about knowing the authors. I may be a bit of a science fiction freak," alongside a breezy chuckle at himself.
