"Oh? My name? Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you!" he said looking a bit embarrassed. "My name is Axel. Axel the IV. I was named after my father, his father, and his father's father. Odd to think that before there were 3 other Axels running around somewhere in the world. The name's bout all my parents left me."

she nuzzled him soothingly "I'm sorry"

He felt his face warm and he continued to talk to try to ignore his rising embarrassment. "I like rabbits. There are many kinds of rabbits. I fought a fox once. I have its pelt somewhere." He continued to babble senselessly.

noticing his babbling, she giggled, "It's okay" she purred "you don't have to impress me" and then she mumbled under her breath; 'you already have'

He looked at her inquisitively. He had heard her mutter something. "What did you say?" he asked. "I mean, after you told me I could stop babbling."

"n...nothing" she studdered nervously

Axel blinked at her and shrugged. "Ok then. Anyways, where are you going to go in the morning? You know, since I have to bring you back home then..." He frowned slightly, but only so little that it wasn't noticeable.

"oh...right...home...that's exactly what I have" she lied "I h...have a family...a mar...marked out t...territory, you know, the nece...necessities for a g...hapy cat" she put on a fake smile

He stepped closer to her. "Are you sure you have a place to stay?" he whispered kindly. His dark orange eyes glowed lightly as he stared at her.

"not really" she sighed

He grinned at her. "Well we'll just have to do something about that, eh? You could stay with me... if you wanted to..." he looked down at his paws. "...or you could stay in another cave near here.... it's a bit smaller but still it's real nice."

"I think I'd feel safer here...you know, with you"

He looked at her, honestly a bit startled. "W-with me?"

"u...unless I'm a bother" she looked down at her paws

"Oh no, no, not at all," Axel pressed his head against her and spoke into her ear. "I-I rather like having you here. I've missed having company."

she shyed away a bit "oh...I..." she sighed "I...y...yeah, company" she looked down at her paw and walked away a few fox-lengths

Axel looked at her for a few moments. "You sound disappointed for some reason." He twitched his ear and tail. "Is there something else you want to hear?"

she cleared her throat "n...no, I'm...I'm fine" she put on a fake smile and sat down in a shadow in the cave, sighing

He could see how she felt in her face. His own gaze softened and he approached her. "Are you sure there's nothing else? If you want me to, I'll speak some more."
