He raised an invisible eyebrow. "Impressive," he growled slowly and sniffed the ear. "That would make a nice trophy," he remarked. "Anyways, make yourself at home. Unless you, um, would prefer I make you a bed somewhere outside? I would understand if you felt uncomfortable staying in the same cave as a practical stranger." Axel looked at Spottedblaze. "So, would you like me to make a place outside?"

He smiled warmly at her. "Of course you can!" he purred. He felt a bit happy that she was to stay with him. He actually did enjoy her company. He padded over and sat beside her. "If you want to pull out a pelt to lay on, they're over there," he mewed and flicked his tail to a stack of furs near a wall.

He laughed. "What, do you think I kill cats or something? No,no, those are rabbit furs and the occasional pelt of a deer that some twolegs left lying around. See?" he pulled one down and revealed that it was way too big to be cat fur, as well as feeling much different.

"Oh, it's fine. It's an idea I got from my old Twolegs. I used to live with them, but that's all the past now. Speaking of pasts, where are you from? Or where WERE you from?" he asked and sat down on one of the pelts.

Axel was silent for a moment. "....wow... that must've been really bad. I used to have owners, but they moved and left me. I fended for myself until I joined a little gang of cats. We were happy, but clan cats caught us on their territory and killed all of my friends but me... I only escaped because I was so young. I found this place by chance and have stayed here ever since. For the majority of my life, I've been alone. I don't know what happened to my parents either. Anyways, your friend must not of been that great a friend if she ignored you over something like that." Axel frowned. He was starting to get hungry. "Anyways, how about I get us some food to keep our minds off of such dreary thoughts eh?"

"Ok then!" He grinned gently at her. "So what would the lady like for her meal?" he asked jokingly. "I personally prefer the taste of rabbit. Which explains why I have so many rabbit pelts."

"Ok then, sounds good." Axel said. He stood up and headed to the entrance of the cave. "Look around if you wish. Don't wander out too far though. It would be very bad if something attacked you while you were out, so stay close to the cave. I won't be long." With that, the grey and black tom leapt off into the woods.

Meanwhile, Axel crept along and before long caught a squirrel that had been searching for nuts. He headed out further away to search for an evasive rabbit.

Soon, he had obtained one of the pesky rabbits and headed back to his cave. He ran along, soon arriving at the cave entrance. "Spottedblaze! I caught you a squirrel! Also, I told you I wouldn't take long." The tom looked almost childish as he bounced over and gave her the squirrel. "I see you've made yourself a bed," he said. "You should get yourself some rest after you eat your squirrel. I'll stay up for a bit to make sure that wolf doesn't come near. That sound alright?" he turned to look at Spottedblaze, a questioning look in his eyes.

He nodded and stretched. "I'm gonna eat and watch the entrance. You can go to sleep whenever you want," he said and looked kindly at her. "You've probably been having a rough time, so just let me help take care of things for now."
