• "Of course you can come with us Hopepaw! We can help you carry some herbs back if you need us!" Ashclaw noticed how tense Hopepaw has been, "are you alright? Is something bothering you?"

Flamestar watched as Silverheart padded over to her. She was not visited by Starclan, but she has heard Emberheart and both medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice whispering about it. They have not told the clan yet, but word would get out soon. Flamestar knew the prophecy told of a great betrayal, but she was confident the clan would not suspect her.

"Hello Silverheart, what do you need?" Flamestar asked with false interest.

  • "I believe the clan must be cautious. But, we can not let our suspicions run wild. It would be idiotic to distance others because we suspect them of betrayal. The clan needs to stick together, especially with all the rogues that have been spotted around our borders. Troubling times are up ahead, and we need each other's trust to get through them," Flamestar spoke with confidence, but on the inside she was a bundle of emotions. It wasn't easy lying to her clan, and knowing she will most likely have to kill old friends. But she must cleanse this land of the weak if it takes all her nine lives to do it.

  • Hopepaw nodded. "Thanks." She said, and flicked her tail. "Starclan are worried." Was all she offered as a simple answer to the two cats unasked questions. She had never received a prophecy before, and the one starclan threw at her was one that showed the destruction of the clan if they were not ready.

Sparkpaw watched Hopepaw, and she realised that, through the she cat was only three moons older then her, she spoke with such knowledge and wisdom. Starclan must have shown her something bad: normally hopepaw's face was alive with happiness and enjoyment for the tasks that she would face in the next few day, moons, years.
(Just so when thingy comes back she will see this...)

  • Ashclaw was still filled with questions, but it would probably be best to leave Hopepaw alone. He began to make his way towards the mouth of the cave.
"Well, we better be on our way. We need to make sure no rogues have crossed into our territory and collect some herbs before nightfall," Ashclaw meowed casting a glance over his shoulder to make sure Sparkpaw and Hopepaw where following him.

  • Hopepaw nodded, and then began to run over herbs. Catmint.... we were running low on that... Burdick,marigolds.. why am I reciting herbs for battle? she stopped suddenly. Marigolds, good for fighting infections.... Burdick, great for severely infected wounds and rat bites. What am I doing? Best to gather some... She clarified on walking, looking and securing for herbs

Sparkpaw looked at Hopepaw. The medicine cat apprentice really was restless! "No rogues will cross this border!" She vowed, springing ahead.

  • Ashclaw watched the two apprentices. Hopepaw was tirelessly gathering herbs while Sparkpaw sprinted ahead. Ashclaw was worried about the rogues. Until a couple of moons ago, a rogue sighting was rare and usually went unnoticed. But now, they where showing up more and more, but they never crossed the border. Ashclaw shook his head, it was probably nothing. But he couldn't help but think something bad was going to happen.

"Don't go to far Sparkpaw!" Ashclaw meowed as he noticed his apprentice had gone farther ahead than he had thought.

  • She stopped, flicking a ginger ear. "What? I wanna be the first to attack any trespassers!" She called, laughingly.

Hopepaw took a mouthful of marigolds, and then placed it gently away from prying mouths. She was still highly unsettled.

  • ooc:

Okay, thanks! I'll add you. And yeah, so long as you can keep track of them!

umm. possibly Fallingash? :D btw, whats happening?)

Well, Emberheart, Stonefur, Ashclaw, Orangepaw, Lightpaw and Sparkpaw are out training, while Flamestar, Silverheart, and Hopepaw discuss the prophecy. (At least I think that's what's going on, I read kinda fast.)

    ic:

"Bury it or cover it up.." Orangepaw replied flicking his tail a bit before he paused, "And.. um..thank StarClan for giving us the mouse?" He suggested in a slight question his left ear flicking backwards a bit.

"Exactly. Great job, Orangepaw." Emberheart told her apprentice. She then nodded towards Stonefur, to tell him that it was his apprentice's turn.

Stonefur turned to Lightpaw. "Alright. It's your turn!" he mewed.

  • Flamestar stared at nothing in particular as she thought about the moons to come. The rogues where almost ready for battle, and blood will be shed. Flamestar stood and looked over at Silverheart.
"I'm going hunting. I need some fresh air,"

Ashclaw chuckled, he remembered he was the same way when he was an apprentice. Dreaming of being the greatest warrior the world had ever seen. He knew it was unlikely, but if a rogue was spotted in their territory they would probably just drive them out. There was no need for fighting. They would simply have to scare them away.
"If there where any intruders they would probably be too scared to face you!" Ashclaw called back jokingly. The grey tom continued walking near the border behind the two apprentices.

  • Making a queen, her kits, and another male warrior cuz we definitely need them ;)

  • Sparkpaw laughed. "Oh yeah! There's nothing scarier then being faced by a big bad scary apprentice!" She laughed, waving her tail happily as she trotted ahead.

Sparkpaw nodded, and carefuy sunk down into a hunters crouch. She made sure to keep her paws steps soft, and her tail was stiff and low against the ground, but not brushing it. She stuck her chin out a little, and carefully breathed in. Vole! She saw the small creature, to busy nibbling on an acorn to notice her creeping up on it. She moved silently as possible to get downwind, and moved closer and closer to the small creature. At the last possible second, the vole heard her, and looked as if it were about to run. So as quick as she could, Lightpaw's paw shot out, and she killed it before it could sequel.

Hopepaw looked about, stating behind as she was looking for herbs.

Fallingash yawned widely, and then walked to the entrance of the apprentice den. "Hey Roarpaw? We're doing fighting practice! Hurry up, everyone else has left!" She muttered, twitching her tail in agitation.
Flamemask sighed. "Give her time. She has to get used to it, and you need to be more patient." She chastised her sister, flicking her tail dismissively.

  • "Great job, Lightpaw!" Stonefur said.

"Orangepaw, dig up your catch, I think it's time we head back." Emberheart told her apprentice. She then turned to Stonefur. "Can you take them back to camp yourself? I need to run ahead to report to Flamestar." Stonefur nodded, and Emberheart raced out of the forest and back onto the jagged black rocks of the volcano. As she neared the camp, she saw Flamestar emerge from the tunnel into the Clearing. "Flamestar!" she called, and skidded to a halt in front of her leader.

  • "Good job Sparkpaw! We shoukd probably start heading back. It will be dark soon. Do you have all the herbs you beed Hopepaw?" Ashclaw asked as he turned toward the camp. His eyes widened as he saw movemtn not far away from them. He shook his head, it was probably just his imagination.

Flamestar made her way silently through the undergrowth. She knew Ashclaw had taken Hopepaw and Sparkpaw to check the borders sp she had to make sure she was not seen. She would also have to hunt a little bit on the way back. The clan believed she was simply hunting, but she needed to go speak to the rogues near their territory. Hearing voices she scrambled behind a bush. Flamestar say Ashclaw, Hopepaw, and Sparkpaw making their way through the undergrowth. Ashclaw stopped and seemed to look right at her, but he continued on his way. After making sure the coast was clear, Flamestar sprinted over to the rogue camp.

ooc- i will not be telling what happens at the rogue camp because i want it to be a little bit of a surprise what happens when they attack! You already know Flamestar will betray the clan, but i want a little bit of mystery! ;)

  • Emberheart blinked. Flamestar had just walked past her.... that was weird. She sighed, and made her way into camp. She decided she'd visit her sister, Dapplesong, and her kits in the nursery.
Emberheart was attacked by a whirl of blue, grey, and brown fur as she stepped into the nursery. "Kits!" she heard Dapplesong scold, and after a moment the three kittens had gotten off of her and were instead sitting in a line in front of her, tails wagging.
"You shouldn't let yourself be caught of guard, Emberheart," Hallowkit mewed.
"Yeah!" Riverkit chimed in. "If we had been rogues, you'd be dead!"
"Won't we make great warriors someday?" Ashkit asked, though it was more of a demand than a question.
"You be a warrior," Hallowkit said. "And I'll be leader."
    "Not fair!"
"Kits!" Dapplesong hissed. "Calm yourselves!" she padded over and rubbed flanks with Emberheart. "Sorry about them," she said.
"It's fine," Emberheart replied. "They're adorable."
"Adorable?!" Hallowkit exclaimed. "I'm not adorable. I'm scary!" he fluffed out his pelt, which just made him look like a giant fluff ball.
Dapplesong smiled. "Any news about the prophecy?"
"No," Emberheart said. "But it is nearly time for Silverheart and Hopepaw to share tongues with StarClan at the top of the volcano."

  • Lightpaw nodded, her mouth full of vole. She felt warmed by her mentors praise and she padded back to camp.

Sparkpaw ran ahead, bursting into camp, her tail high. She was going to be the best warrior ever, and she just knew it.

Hopepaw nodded. "I just need to go back and get my marigolds..." She said, doubling back, heading into the undergrowth. As she reached the herbs she picked, Hopepaw paused. There was a familiar scent... "Flamestar?" She asked, her ears pricked right up.

  • Emberheart padded around camp looking for any sign of Flamestar, but she was no where to be found. Instead, she noticed that the fresh-kill pile was nearly empty, save for the prey caught earlier by the apprentices. She would have to put together a hunting party.
"Stonefur! Ashclaw! Fallingash! Come here, with your apprentices!" she yowled. "Oh, and you too, Orangepaw!"

Stonefur ran into the apprentices' den, looking for Lightpaw.

  • Lightpaw looked up at her mentor. "What? Hunting again?" She asked, stretching. See wondered why her mentor had looked so urgent.

Fallingash sighed. "Roarpaw!" She called, her tail lashing. Where was her apprentice?

  • Once all of the cats had arrived in the Clearing, Emberheart spoke. "The fresh-kill pile is low. We need to go on a hunting patrol."

Stonefur blinked. Didn't Flamestar usual give the orders? He didn't remember her asking Emberheart to organize a patrol... he decided to speak up. "Where's Flamestar?" he asked.

Emberheart looked at him. "I don't know. She disappeared. But it's none of our business." Even so, she made a mental note to keep an eye out for her leader. "Come on then." And with a flick of her tail, she led the way out into the woods.
