OOC: Despite their similar names, Pokemon and Digimon aren't that much alike. The first series of Digimon is about a group of children (eight years old to teenagers) that are pulled into a digital world where they meet the "Digimon" (short for "Digital Monsters") the series is named for. Each child, referred to as the "DigiDestined," has a separate Digimon of their own, as well as a Digivice and Crest, which represents who the child is at their core. They fight a series of monsters of increasing strength until their fighting eventually spills over into the "real" world, which paves the way for series two.

Series two picks up a few years later bringing in three new "DigiDestined," to add to the two younger members, to make a new team. They're called to the Digital World to fight a new threat, that turns out to be one of their own: a lost, original DigiDestined that has become corrupted by the true evil of the series. This series ties off some loose ends from the previous series, while opening up new possibilities for the future.

Series Three takes place mostly in the "real" world, with an entirely new cast of characters titled "Tamers," i.e. humans with hand-held card reading devices that serves as the Tamers version of a Digivice. This series' main villain is an evil Digimon group called Devas who are after one of the Digimon main characters. The series ends with the Digimon returning to their world.
