The scent of a group of cats was faint, but close, and he could tell, and he knew all he had to do was outrun the creature chasing him, and he'd be safe. Gasping for air, as the sprint was taking his supply, Percy pressed on, determined to get rid of it, swerving around trees and other obstacles in desperation, trying to get to safety. He zigzagged every now and then, hoping to lead the foul canine away from him, but failing to do so. Putting on a burst of speed with the last of his supply, the kitten jumped into a tree with a newfound adrenaline, the dog continuing to run. Panting, he grinned crookedly, a bead of sweat trickling down his face. He had lost the dog, and now he could join. Hopping down after taking a quick rest break, the lighter-than-most black smoke padded forward curiously, tipping his head to the side as he came across the border.
