A dark gray cat stood contentedly in the middle of camp. Ashen blue eyes scanned the ground floor of the museum, not looking for anything particular except maybe something to do. If nothing appeared, then the student would merely go back to her thoughts, and stand with relaxed posture as she delved through them, forming new thoughts and ideas, however meaningless they might be. It was just a pastime. Flintpaw didn't often suffer from boredom. By her expression, one might see her as lost, but it was easy to lose your train of thought through the maze of your mind. Flintpaw truly believed that the length of time she had spent in RadicalClan would prevent any chance of her losing her way on the territory.

[In case you're confused, I just posted a thread where Fairy possesses a dog. c:]Chocolate eyes scanning her surroundings as she walked, Fairypaw trekked around RadicalClan territory. Admittedly, this new body was taking some getting used to, but she rather liked it. Being a dog certainly had its perks. She could catch scents she couldn't before, meaning she was better at tracking and hunting, she felt stronger than she had as a feline, and wasn't as timid as she might've been previously. The Bernese mountain dog caught sight of a familiar dark gray pelt as she came by the museum. Trotting over, the Defender barked out a greeting. "Hey, Flintpaw!"
-
[ thanks haha, just posted there without seeing this yet so i hadn't been sure on that whole matter ]
A pair of ashen eyes landed on the figure of a not quite familiar canine. Flintpaw wasn't used to seeing Fairypaw in dog form. But she knew that Elani, the other Defender, had multiple possessions, so it wasn't much of a surprise when she first learned of it. Plus, the former calico seemed to be quite happy in this new form which in turn made Flintpaw happy too. She knew that Fairypaw had been through some hard times, even if she didn't know her that well or understand what it was like to suffer through said hardships.
"Hello Fairypaw," returned the dark gray student in an equally upbeat tone, maybe because she hadn't the misfortune to experience anything that truly broke her own spirit into pieces. "What is it like, being a dog?" asked the student. She was mildly curious but the main reason for the question was to find a topic that was something of the older student's interest.

Reaching the ashen gray feline, she sat down, her tail lightly thumping the ground. It was odd; was used to being able to curl it over her paws, but now it was too short. Addressing the question directed towards her, the canine admitted, "Well, it's definitely a challenge, as I used to be far smaller and had a few minor disabilities, but I'm faring just fine." The biggest difference was probably the size. Fairypaw had been a relatively small cat, so becoming a Bernese mountain dog, which were notably big, had in increased her size quite a bit.Anyways, she didn't want to bore Flintpaw with her stories, which were either not that interesting or would cause her to break down again, neither of which she'd really like, though the latter was worse. So changing the subject, the black and white dog then inquired, "So how are you? Having fun with learning as a student?" The Defender quite liked it herself; she would be mildly disappointed when given her new name, but not fully because then she would be free to train other students.
-
The dark gray cat nodded. She wouldn't be able to completely understand, but could imagine. If Flintpaw suddenly left the body that she had lived all her life in, she'd feel out of whack too. She raised her ashen blue eyes to meet Fairypaw's. The canine was remarkably larger, and while she had used to look up at the older student before, now she had to crane her neck a little more. It was no big deal. There were a few other canine RadicalClanners too.
"Being a student is nice. It is a little hard to teach myself, but fun too," said Flintpaw. She kind of enjoyed the RadicalClan student system, once she got used to it. You didn't have to see the same mentor every day and be force-fed information from their point of view. You could learn from all sorts of Radicals and their different styles, to collect a varied assortment of knowledge. It was much more interesting than being a kit, but kithood had its perks also. "You won't be a student for much longer, right? I need a lot more experience before I become a Radical." said the dark gray cat with amusement. She planned to make the best of her apprenticeship and learn as much as she could. Maybe the calico could even teach her a thing or two; either as a fellow student or a knowledgeable Radical. She wasn't sure how much older the former calico was, but she'd be there to cheer Fairypaw when she gained a new suffix.

Being a student was plenty more thrilling than being a kitten - or pup - but it also made one yearn to learn enough to rise to the title of radical, and potentially higher. Of course, there were a few that preferred the life of healing, and sought to become a healer, which was fine, too. Back to Flintpaw's inquiry, she confirmed, "Yes, it won't be long until I receive my full name. No longer than two more months, I'd imagine." A proud smile came to her white muzzle.//low muse
-
Two months? That wouldn't be too long now. Flintpaw was only seven moons old so she still had time. But two months could either stretch on forever, or go by with a snap of your finger. But cats didn't have fingers. Maybe it'd go by with... a flick of your tail. Yeah, that one made more sense.
As said before, the dark gray student had time, and so far she'd used it to consider her options. Flintpaw had attended the herb training session, and was learning a lot, but the healer position didn't appeal to her at the moment. Plus, numerous RadicalClanners, many of whom she had never seen before, had shown interest with only one spot open. Flintpaw didn't believe the odds were in her favour. The session was a good opportunity to learn a thing or two, though, and it was interesting to listen to everyone's feedback.
The student had spotted Fairypaw at the meeting but couldn't tell if the former calico was interested. She was a Defender already, but it probably depended on how much she enjoyed the position. "I saw you the other day at the herb training session. I didn't join to apply, but it was interesting to learn about all those herbs," she remarked.

At Flintpaw's comment, she nodded. She had been there, true, but more to learn than actually apply for the position. The canine knew she had a fair chance at getting picked, but to be completely honest, she quite liked the position she had now. Being a Defender was definitely something that she felt like she was good at. While Fairypaw wasn't huge on the whole prospect of torturing, she also didn't like males that much, which allowed her to feel like she was being fair when giving other RadicalClan members a chance to pick on the bad ones. Besides, most of them were in there for evil doings, anyways. So her reply was, "Yes, it was a nice time to learn a thing or two. I, personally, have little interest in becoming a medicine cat. It's definitely not a bad rank, of course, but I feel like being a Defender suits me better." Her chocolate eyes blinked slowly, as if considering her options momentarily. Then, refocusing on the ashen gray feline she was conversing with, the Bernese mountain dog continued, "So did you learn anything worth remembering?" She would certainly keep the basic healing procedures in her mind, in case the medics were ever absent during an emergency.
-
Flintpaw felt similar. Numerous RadicalClanners had shown up and Flintpaw lost any interest in holding the position herself, but she respected the healers and would congratulate whoever earned the open mca spot. Her goals didn't lie in the healing field, but it seemed like a good idea to know a piece or two of it. "I learnt a lot, because I knew nothing of the names much less the functions of any herb. But the best one was marigold, I think," decided the dark gray student. It had a nice colour if you were into that sort of thing but its properties were even better. "I never knew that a flower could prevent infection. And I couldn't have thought of holding it together with cobwebs," she added, shaking her head slightly. Radicals had to be strong in the muscle but healers had to be strong in the brain. Now that Flintpaw knew how to use the golden flower, she could always apply it onto herself after a battle if the healers were too busy with others or something.
That was another topic Flintpaw wondered about. Battle. What was it like? Certainly more tense than a training session, and Flintpaw had only been to one of those. She refrained from asking her clanmate about that though because it sounded like a dodgy topic. And for all she knew, Fairypaw had some heartbreaking backstory about a battle too. She had multiple saddening experiences, but maybe it was just a recent thing. It wasn't the former calico's fault and Flintpaw knew she didn't deserve to suffer through them, just like no one else deserved it. Well maybe almost no one. The dark gray student decided to focus on a brighter subject that perhaps the canine would enjoy more. "Are you entering that singing and dancing competition?"
-
#fairygarden
Marigold and cobwebs were both a quite common herb. Fairypaw knew about cobwebs before the seminar, and marigold, but not exactly what it did. She'd known that the golden flower was a plant used if injured, yet hadn't exactly gotten the definition of what it did. Now she knew: Marigold was chewed into a pulp and applied on wounds to prevent infection, and dressed with cobwebs if the bleeding was a bit more severe and needed to be halted. But, of course, being a healer required a lot of work, and the Bernese mountain dog didn't think she had it in her to remember just about everything. Only the basics would do for her.At the dark gray student's inquiry, a light smile spread across her muzzle. "Yes, I am. Just the singing competition, though. I don't have the coordination for dancing quite yet." She gestured down to her new body, as it was clear she was still learning how to do a lot with it. Like basic skills, for instance. "Are you?" she continued to inquire, chocolate eyes examining the feline as her head tipped to one side. She herself had all ready picked out a song to sing, but she wasn't quite sure exactly when the competition was. It'd be a shame if she missed it.
-
The seven moon old sort of understood. In a much larger and differently sculpted body, Flintpaw would not be coordinated enough to walk through a gentle river, much less whip out some fancy dance moves at a competition. The dark gray student remembered the canine's balanced grace in her old calico body, but that had been lost. Flintpaw was almost certain that Fairypaw would regain it though, with time. As the seven moon old saw it, Fairypaw was just too mindful and aware to remain clumsy forever. Even mildly vigilant, as a Defender should be.
"Not the singing part," began the student, with a flicker of amusement in her blue eyes. Flintpaw could never trust her own voice to perform decently; in front of a whole crowd was out of the question. Singing was not one of her strengths. "I'm going to try to dance, though," she finished. 'Try' was the key word. Her dancing skills weren't exactly admirable, but at least they were decent. And they had a chance to improve with practice, unlike her singing skills, or lack thereof. She had held a handful of private dancing sessions, which hadn't gotten very far, but she was trying anyway. Flintpaw had no intention or hope to win; this event was just a way to gain some competitive experience.
It would be nice to hear all the voices at the singing competition, though. Flintpaw didn't doubt that Fairypaw would be a good part of it. The dark gray student planned on attending both competitions to show support for her clan. Hopefully a good amount of their allies would show up too. The more the merrier.
