  • Kane continued to lash out at the Titans corpse until he was out of breath, "Fuck you..." he muttered as he than began to head back to HQ.

  • "Let's go," Saki said, tears in her eyes as she brought Shoichi's arm over her shoulder, slowly walking him to headquarters. This is all my fault that he's like this... she thought, squeezing Shoichi close.

Shoichi blinked, using what energy he had left with his right leg to move. "Where's Captain?" he asked, not knowing Dan's horrid fate.

  • Kane eventually found his way to HQ, he smashed through one of the top floor windows and let out a painful grunt, "Shit!" he muttered as he noticed the large shard of glass in his left arm, he took a deep breath and yanked the shard of glass out of his arm. He wiped his wound clean and began to wait for his teammates.

  • Saki quickly smashed the door open, lugging the injured Shoichi on her shoulders as she ran up the stairs. "Kane!" she yelled. "Are you in here?" She steered away from her deputy's question about where the Captain was. He would find out soon enough.

  • Kane looked back as he heard Saki call out for him, He wanted to respond but couldn't find the energy to do so, he just continued to sit in silence.

  • "He would probably be at the top where the Titans can't get us," Shoichi told Saki, pointing at the stairs leading to the top.

"Yeah, let's hope so," Saki said, almost out of breath. Not only was Shoichi a bit heavy, she was also exhausted from running over to save him from the Titan. "I don't think I can move any further than this. I need a rest..."

  • "No, we're almost there," Shoichi said, feeling regretful for placing his weight, literally, on Saki's shoulders. "The top is only a few steps ahead."

Saki clenched a fist. Shoichi lost his leg to save me, she thought, lugging herself over the next few stairs. I have to keep on going. "Kane!" she called again, reaching closer and closer to the top.

  • Saki heard a small murmur, and she slowly moved toward the voice. "I'm coming, Kane!" she said, bringing Shoichi with her over to Kane.

  • Saki let out a sigh of relief as she saw Kane, and she rushed over to him. She placed Shoichi beside him, where he let out a sigh as well.

Shoichi looked over at Kane. "Where's the Captain? Is he off killing Titans?" he asked his brother.

  • Kane looked over to Shoichi anger began to surge through as he was reminded the image of his brother being consumed, "HE'S DEAD! What did Saki not tell you already?" he asked as he then turned to face his fellow scout, "Wait of course you didn't, cause that would mean that you actually did something worth a damn!" he yelled.

  • Shoichi's eyes widened in surprise, both at the fact that Dan was dead, and that Kane's usual quiet attitude had been altered. "Saki-kun, why didn't you tell me?" he said, his voice filled with shock.

Saki averted her eyes, feeling tears roll down her cheeks. "I didn't want you to get hurt more than you already were," she replied lowly, feeling pain pierce through her heart at Kane's words. "Yeah, I shouldn't even be a soldier. I'm useless, and I costed Shoichi-san his left leg..." She shut her eyes tightly, clenching her fists.

  • Kane felt his personal rage boiling within him, He just felt the need to lash out at something, "Yeah well maybe you should just quit, You'd be doing us a favor!" he told her as he than sat back down.

  • Saki felt a sad smile reach her lips. "Yeah, maybe I should," she said, taking a step down the stairs. "Or maybe I should just feed myself to those savage Titans."

Shoichi's eyes widened in surprise as he saw that Saki seemed to oblige to Kane's words. "Kane! Don't say that," he said, worriedly looking at the two scouts. He wanted to get up, but it would be too much energy with only one leg.

  • Kane looked over Shoichi, "Shut the fuck up" he told him, he then looked back up to Saki and nodded, "yeah, well maybe you should" He said.

  • Saki began to walk down the stairs. "Bye," she said, taking slow steps to the bottom of headquarters.

Shoichi gritted his teeth. Now that's it, he thought, shooting Kane a glare. I'll teach this scout how to show some respect to his deputy! He shakily stood up, balancing on one leg as he took Kane by the shirt collar. "Now listen, soldier..." he began, his usually closed eyes wide open. "Say one more insult to me, your deputy, or to Saki-kun, and I'll throw you out to be eaten like your brother by the Titans." Keeping his glare at Kane, he let go of his shirt collar, limping to get Saki.

  • Kane looked back to Shoichi, he stared at him blankly for a bit before gritting his teeth, "You piece of shit" he muttered silently. He was about to sock him in the jaw, but he stopped and began to think about his actions. Kane let out a small sigh, "s-sorry..." he said quietly, he began to walk after Saki as he called out for her.

  • Shoichi stopped as he realized that Kane was pursuing Saki. "It's alright. Just get her before it's too late," he said, slowly taking a seat and wincing in pain.

Saki stood at the entrance of headquarters, her hand on the door knob. She could see the Titans from outside, eager to consume her when she approached. Well, at least I'll see you again, sis, she thought.
