    Taken by surprise, Earthquake flew for a good few feet but managed to land heavily on her paws.


    "Yeeeowch!" yowled the red tabby. Limping slightly, the large she-cat looked down and found that she had torn a claw.

    Jester, still on his back, turned and winked at the leader. "Sure you're not." Then he struggled to his paws, fixing his gaze on earthquake.


    "You okay?"

    Shaking the paw to try and dull the stinging, the large she-cat gave Jester a rueful smile.


    "I'm fine. Just clumsy" purred the red tabby. As if to contradict her words, the torn claw started to bleed lightly.


    "Oh come on, it's really not bad I swear!" meowed Earthquake petulantly.

    Licking her paw quickly, Earthquake managed to slow the bleeding and then stop it completely. Setting the paw gently onto the ground and applying weight, she found it tender but not really painful.


    "No, I'm fine" declared the large she-cat with a dismissive flick of her tail.

    "I'm sure" purred Earthquake, "but we could go hunting instead of continuing the spar if you're worried. That would be less likely to make it bleed again".
