    "Go look for some more allies in the woods-now!" eternal screeched to the commander of the guards, my friends Night Wing. HE saluted and lead groups of unicorns, pegisi, and earth ponies outside and in front of the castle to position who was guarding and searching. My heart dropped when Eternal Darkness rasped in my ear, "YOU....GO....NOW...SEARCH..." My legs stumbled when i ran to follow the guards and fighters trotting to the woods, i flew up and searched for other ponies admist the tall, trees. My gaze fell over a mare who was green and was a unicorn with a blue and red eyes (Alexandra!!!). I landed in a tree above her, and landed in a bush inches from her. I popped out silently, and said my friendliest greeting. "hi...uh...my name's Starlight Shine...I'm from the Empire of Darkness....what's your name and what are you doing out here? also...if your looking for a job...there is some spots open in our empire...have i said too much already?" I blurted, wondering if this lonely unicorn would kill me or not.


    I smiled contentedly, rolling up the parchments and putting them to the side. My looked over at him expectantly, nodding towards him as if to say 'Go on.'



    It took me a moment to decipher her expression, before I realized she wanted me to continue, "Oh, sorry! Uh, what was going to say?.... Oh yeah! The Northern Wall! A bunch of ponies from Celestia-knows-where want to knock it down, to extend it, but, although it sounds like a good idea, while it's being constructed, that leaves giant hole from which our enemies can attack. I don't know about you, but the citizens of the Fire kingdom are already under stress to organize the year's Hearth's Warming Eve." I said, using my magic to pick up the fire poker and poke the ember's in a hope to revive them, my eyes locked on the small flames dancing aroud them.

    I gasped and blinked at what had been the mare which was now water. I was prepared for something like this. Eternal Darkness had told me if this occurred. I whistled for Starred Horn, a stallion unicorn who had yellow dotted fur and dark blue fur with yellow eyes. He teleported next to me, and i told him to scan the area. "well then...i guess you don't want to join my empire...if you DO need a job...that is..." i said, then acted as if i was trotting away slowly.


    "There's no ponies in the woods!?" Eternal screeched at Night wing. "uh...no...not yet or so far..." he muttered.

    "well then...i guess you're too Scootaloo chicken to work for my empire of darkness...." i smirked, then made chicken noises.
    "Well look for some darn more!!!!!!!!" eternal shouted, smoke abrupting from her nostrils.


    I sighed, my silvery-blue magic engulfing a parchment and levitating it towards my brother. His eyes scanned the paper, his non-existent brows knitting together, "Hmm.... I see. At least you're doing the right thing.." He mumbled, rolling it back up and putting it away.



    After putting it away, a single bell rung beside the door, "Oh, is that the dinner bell?" I asked, grinning. She smiled amusingly, nodding her head. "Woo!" I exclaimed, taking off like a shot.

    "prove how your not chicken..." i said simply, crossing my hooves to alexandra.
    "yes...ma'am..." said Night wing to eternal night, and flew out on patrol.

    Alex's horn shined brightly and then she dissapeered leaving only her shadow and faint outline. She ran towards her, dagger unsheathed.

    I twitched my nose and followed my senses. I flew up, dodging the slightly invisvible mare with a dager.
    i unsheathed my sword and my shield, airborne. i sneered and continued to fly.

    I smirked and dodged the many daggers. I took a deep breath and aimed my bow and arrow at the source of the daggers. it whooshed across teh sky.

    I smiled, following my brother until we reached the dinner hall, my stomach growling as I realized how hungry I was. I hadn't eaten all day because I was too busy sorting through the paperwork, then of course there was the conferences. After being seated, I glanced across the table at my brother who was already devouring half his plate. My eyebrow raised as I cleared my throat, "Oh. Manners. Sorry." He mumbled sheepishly, looking down at his plate.



    I straightened up and picked up my fork, putting the food slowly into my mouth as I tried to act more polite, "So Icey, any news?" I asked, my face lighting up. She shook her head, taking a sip from her glass and setting it back down. My fork just prodded my salad, my expression clearly unamused, "Well..... we're uh, we're planning on putting another bakery on the eastern side of town, on Hooveston street.." I trailed off, trying to make conversation.

    Crystal Water gazed outside of her lonely dorm, staring across the glittering ocean. She looked down, seeing her fully-armored guards at the doors, and she sighed. She arose from where she sat, and went to go finish her battle plans. She used her magic to pick up the quill beside her. It glew with an aura of sea-green, and she smilled lightly. Crystal Water started to sketch out the plans when a knock at the door sounded. She looked over, and opened the door with her magic. "Yes?" she questioned the guard standing at the door. "Ma'am, the others are awaiting. The meeting is tomorrow, and we wanted to ensure that you had the plans." "I am working on them." she replied with a dismissive wave of her hoof. "Yes. I understand ma'am." He dipped his head with respect, and backed from the room.

    Rain Breeze sat in her chair in the courtroom of her small castle in the clouds, scenes of storms and sunny days painted on the walls put a chill in the air. Her mane blew around because of an open window.


    I set down my fork, m serious gaze looking up at my brother, "Brother, we need to talk." I said in a low voice. His eyes flew up in surprise as I talked, meaning it was quite serious, "Yes? I'm listening." He replied quickly, leaning in. I cleared my throat, adjusting my position to be more mannerly, "I have a proposition to make..." I trailed off, trying to find the right words to say, "I spent a lot of time thinking about this and..... would you like to join the Empires together? Fire and Ice?" I asked, my voice shaky with hope.



    I almost spat out my salad, my mouth falling open. Our two kingdoms had always been close, with one helping the other in a time of need but.... to join the two together? It seemed like a big risk. "Um.... Well...... Er.... I-I don't know. It's s-sort of a big decision...." I mumbled and looked over at my sister, only to see her frown and look away, "No-no. It was a bit sudden. I...Uh, Just forget what I said. Sorry.." She muttered, poking at her plate. My eyes knitted together as my heart tore in two. I hated seeing my sister like this, all saddened and down-hearted. Maybe.... Just maybe... If we joined the two together, we'd be stronger? "Okay." In an instant, her head shot up, her feathery mane flowing behind her, "W-What? Really?" She asked, wide-eyed. My head bobbed up and down in a nod and I tried my best to give a smile, "Yeah, really." Her face lit up, an open-mouth smile on her lips, "Perfect."
