  • Emberspot circled his bed of moss about to drift into sleep, but the bed next to his wasn't filled yet, Heatherdove's. Emberspot lay there for what seemed like hours, waiting for her.

  • Emberspot heard bustling in the bed next to his. He looked up and spotted Heatherdove. "Is something wrong, Heatherdove? You seem dreary." Emberspot was concerned.

  • "My kits died so I have come to return to my duties, but if I can find kits that have no parents I would gladly nurse them"

  • "Well, you never know, a rogue could've abandoned their kit. Then we could take it in to clan life!" Emberspot soothed. "Or you never know...you could have another litter of kits of your own." Emberspot always wanted his own kits, but he never had a mate.

  • Finally sunrise came, and Emberspot awoke himself. He saw Heatherdove was still asleep. Emberspot sneaked to the freshkill and recharged himself for the day with a magpie.

  • Emberspot took off towards the gorse entrance. and looked back aiting for Heatherdove to catch up. Emberspot immediately picked up robin scents.

  • Heatherdove caught up. She stopped and the got into her crouch. She waited before pouncing on the fairly large robin. Killing it with a swift bite the the neck.

  • "Nicely done." Emberspot remarked, admiring. Emberspot looked into the she-cat's deep eyes. He felt a pang of unconditional love. Emberspot picked up some mice scents, and killed one with a swift swipe of his claws. Then the offspring scattered among the underbrush. "Leave them. They would barely be enough for one gulp. They need time to mature." Emberspot said with his knowledge of hunting.

  • "Thank you and same to you" Heatherdove purred. She purred at his knowledge of hunting. He is so smart, kind, brave, and amazing. No wonder I am so in love. She then scented a rabbit. She got into her crouch. She then slowly started towards it. She stepped on a twig. The rabbit then began to dart away but Heatherdove being much faster pounced and then rolled. She grasped the dead rabbit in her mouth.
