  • Yeah I guess.

Darkwhisper slid out of the way, "That's enough for today." He rasped with a twinge of pride that this particular apprentice dealt with 2 cats easily enough.

    ----------

Moonpaw skidded across the clearing with a startled gasp for air. She hadn't even caught her breath when Magmapaw kicked her. Fury and frustration of her defeat made her get up stiffly. Without even waiting for a order from Darkwhisper she spun around, tail and head high, and walked back to camp. She was aware of Darkwhisper's surprised stare burning into her back as she padded away. She hardly ever acted like this and she couldn't grasp the reason why she was. No, it wasn't her pride that was hurt... it was something else. She felt as if she was wary of hurting Magmapaw every time she lunged at him. Her ear flicked in even more frustration that she couldn't figure out why she was acting the way she was.

  • Something about Moonpaw's back made Darkwhisper think that now wasn't the time to follow her. When Magmapaw said his concerns about Moonpaw made his tail twitch, "Yeah..." He mewed softly then he straightened up. "Now, that was very well. You did great at pinpointing where each of us was and you used your hind legs to your advantage. What you did wrong was that you kept worrying about behind you that you let me get a hold of your neck. In battle that bite would've sent your neck into pieces. You had the right idea of jabbing my jaw instead of pulling away but, don't let that happen in a real fight." A thought came up to him, Moonpaw didn't fight the way she normally did...

    ----------------

Moonpaw found herself glancing back a few times at the training clearing. Everytime her gaze rested swiftly on Magmapaw. Giving up the journey back to camp she swerved off into the forest to think.

  • Darkwhisper purred with amusement, "Why not practice now? Even though we don't have another cat you can work on how to stop me from gett-" He launched his head toward Magmapaw's neck mid-sentence.

    --------

Moonpaw sat by the stream and stared into the water. She sighed and thought about what had upset her so much during practice.

XD I couldn't help but laugh there. One problem though, please give the other character a chance X|

Darkwhisper was impressed by his speed but not by his strength in that swift moment. "Better, but next time put more strength into it. The harder you hit them, the more dazed they will be. That will give you enough time to add in a few more blows before they recover. You're fast and clever, but that may not be enough sometimes." He pointed out carefully circling the apprentice. He had shifted in some but he slid further away. Then he leaped close to Magmapaw before leaping away again. Confuse him, he commanded himself.

    ----------

Moonpaw saw a butterfly waft past her nose and she lept up to catch it. Sure enough, her claw snagged one of its wings. She carefully brought it to her. It's not dead but it won't be able to fly until its wing heals. Her stomach clenched sadly as she realized that she may have ruin the butterfly's life. Then she remembered about all the prey she caught and killed. "Starclan grant you a better life later." She whispered and laid the butterfly on a flower. She then returned to her spot next to the stream and stared into the water once more.

  • Darkwhisper purred slightly and backed off. "Don't worry yourself young'un. I'm no going to attack you." He turned and started walking back to camp with a fast pace.

    _--------

Moonpaw thought about random things, nothing particular courted through her brain at the moment.

  • Darkwhisper heard, barely, the crackle of leaves underneath Magmapaw. He was barely prepared for heavy weight on top of him. When the weight got on top of him he flipped onto his back, hoping to crush him.

(my head really hurts so, low muse)

  • Darkwhisper's tail flicked irritably. "That was a nice move but a mouse-brain one." He then smiled a little and purred, "Come on, you deserve first pick off the fresh-kill pile."

Moonpaw was just returning to camp with a squirrel and mouse in her jaws. It was new-leaf and prey was already running.
