Darkwhisper walked over to the apprentices. "No they have not. Go bring them something. As for Magmapaw, I want you to come with me for battle training. If you want to train too Ivypaw, then you should be quick and meet us at the clearing." He ordered the apprentices. Better keep them busy or they'll be restless.

Darkwhisper nodded, "Yes, Whitestar. Magmapaw, you may go send the queens some prey then meet me for battle training." He resigned his order. He may have seemed like their mentor or a deputy but he didn't want the apprentices getting into mischief.

Moonpaw watched the 4 cats silently from the apprentice den.

"Yay," Ivypaw said excitedly and walked over to Whitestar.

"Of course," Magmapaw said and grabbed a few pieces of prey and took them to the nursery.

Darkwhisper sprinted off toward the training clearing and skidded when he came to a halt. Without having to pant he held his head high and waited on Magmapaw.

Moonpaw slowly crept out of the apprentice den and padded softly to the training clearing. Her paws hardly made a sound when she strolled to where her father was. She nodded a short greeting and veered off into the forest to watch from the shadows.

Magmapaw finished feeding the queens and ran of to the training clearing.

Darkwhisper smiled at the apprentice's speed, "That was quick. Now, do you want to fight 1 cat or 2 cats?" He asked with a tiny flick of his tail that Magmapaw probably wouldn't see but Moonpaw would.

Moonpaw understood what her father was getting at therefore she closed herself more in the ferns.

Magmapaw's ears flickered to the bush, "I probably want to fight one cat, a cat my size," he said and glanced over at the ferns.

Darkwhisper's tail twitched again, this time in amusement. "I see your mentor has been training you well." He meowed lightly. "Although, in battle you'll need to learn how to deal with 2 cats. Dealing with 2 of different sizes will touch up your skills in combat as well as your skills in wits." He explained in a guff voice.

Moonpaw kept silent as she emerged from the undergrowth an paused facing the two cats as Darkwhisper explained.

Magmapaw nodded and face Moonpaw and Darkashadow.

Whitestar, Magmapaw, Ivypaw, Moonpaw, and Darkwhisper are training in the battle clearing.

Darkwhisper stared calmly at the eager apprentice. "Not so fast young'un." He purred lightly. He got to his feet and stood beside his daughter. "The way you're standing is not the best way to stand against 2 cats. You need to be light on your feet and each paw needs to have equal weight so they won't be able to unbalance you easily." He flicked Moonpaw on the shoulder, giving her the queue to get the training started.

Moonpaw obeyed Darkwhisper as if he was her mentor and leader. She went into her normal, confusing fighting stance. She constantly shifts her weight simultaneously through each foot. Good luck Magmapaw, she thought loyally. With another signal from Darkwhisper she sprang toward him and out of the corner of her eye she saw Darkwhisper go to flank Magmapaw.

Magmapaw dodged to Mooonpaw's side and slashed her flank. He then darted over to Darkwhisper and shot under his belly.

Moonpaw recoiled slightly but spinned on her paw and lept at his tail.

Darkwhisper noticed that Magmapaw was going a bit slow so he used his forepaw to smash Magmapaw's head to the ground before he could get under him.

Darkwhisper with drew his paw and before Magmapaw could kick Moonpaw he thrust his jaws around Magmapaw's neck and bit hard enough to bruise but not break the skin.

Moonpaw had immediately let go when Magmapaw got Darkwhisper off.

Magmapaw growled and kicked Darkwhisper in the jaw. He used the force of the kick to propel himself on to Moonpaw. He landed on her with a thud.

Darkwhisper was surprised by Magmapaw's cunning skills. If Magmapaw had kicked him somewhere else his throat would've been torn open by his own force.

Surprised Moonpaw let out a muffled squeak, get off you heavy furball! She struggled to wither out from under him but finally she let her self go limp. I have to stop using my muscles so I can preserve my breath! She let out a gasp as Magmapaw's weight pinned her to the ground crushing her lungs. Giving up she spat, "Get off me you lumpy furball!" With that she wretched herself free.
