  • The war is what started the madness around us. The dragons that commanded the element of fire were angry with the dragons that commanded air. The fire dragons didn't see it as fair that they were flightless and without wings. The air dragons were peaceful creatures and unlike their fiery, rebellious cousins refused to bicker over what cannot be changed.

This angered the fire dragons. What coward can refuse a challenge? Well they decided to get their attention by attacking the other elemental dragons. They slaughtered dragons by the thousands and burnt the dragon capitols to the ground. The air dragons still, however, refused to go to war. They sought help from their Goddess, Aeras. Aeras denied being able to end the tyranny of the fire dragons, but gave the air dragons a human copy in which to help them in battle. It was a brutal massacre that lasted 181 days and nights. The fire dragons were slaughtered, killed in massive droves. But the air dragons only lost 181 soldiers, one on each day.

A glorious victory, yes? Some might see it this way but the air dragons were ashamed with themselves. They told Aeras to resurrect the dragons from all elements in exchange for their own lives. And, to avoid further conflicts over the matter, to give their power of flight to one dragon from each element. Aeras agreed to the offer and transferred the life energy from each of the air dragons to the other dragons that had lost their lives, including the ability to fly to one dragon from each element. Aeras even gave the dragons yet another ability, to shift into the form of their human counterpart. Aeras informed the fire dragons of the sacrifice the air dragons made in order to restore their lives, and laid a heavy burden on their souls. Aeras then told the fire dragons, "In 181 years, there will be another war. And when that time comes you will not be as fortunate."

It's been 181 years since that fateful day. The war's already started. My people are blaming Aeras for the poor harvest. Some are saying that this is retribution for their descendants mistakes. But the majority are blaming the other elements for rigging the poor growing conditions. I can hardly keep my people in line and the Council have already declared war on the {Insert your element here}'s. Aeras will destroy us all if I don't stop this.

    Plot

Now the plot is basically my character is the Queen of the Fire dragons. She believes very deeply that this war will bring the fire dragons demise and is frantic to find a way to stop it. That's where your character comes in. He's the King of whatever element you want. I don't care, it just can't be air or fire. They both hate each other but neither of them wants this war. They're going to have to do something to end the fighting once and for all or the dragons will destroy each other.

Kayma legs dangled from the edge of the balcony. The people below her, her people, were obviously eagerly awaiting war. Everyone was talking about it. She couldn't go anywhere without hearing someone recruiting for the army. Heck, all she could hear for weeks was the blacksmith two blocks down hammering away at metallic weapons... It couldn't come to war. Kayma could feel this impending sense of doom about the war, knowing Aeras was getting ready to bring them down any day now. She wondered if the King of the ____ dragons felt the same way about this war. Like it was going to bring nothing but death and heartbreak? Of course not. He must be psyched to fight those ornery dragons that did nothing but taunt them for the past century... War was a scary thought. War was something that she felt as if neither sides would win.

Elijah climbed up a tree with ease. He crouched in a tree and drew an arrow from the quiver on his back. He drew the arrow back and let it fly. The arrow struck the deer with a dull thud. The animal dropped to the ground. Elijah hopped down from the tree and walked over to the deer before carrying it home and skinning it. He headed outside and transformed into his dragon form. His bright green scales gleamed in the pale sunlight. He moved through the forest with ease and soon reached a large pond full of flowers. He dived in and sank below the surface.

Kayma slowly and steadily walked through the capitol's market, the streets lined with eager merchants and excited citizens. Posters publicizing war were everywhere, at every turn of every street and where you couldn't see it, you could hear it. Everyone was talking of the dreaded curse enough to where Kayma was constantly checking her ears to see if they were bleeding yet. She was being escorted by her main suitor, a tall, thin man named Edmund. He was trying to cheer her up with the annual festival which celebrates the God of War, Yud'dah. Oh how she loved this festival as a child, the food, the music, the games. Everything was perfect, but what made the night was the fireworks that went off. Now that was a spectacle. Now, however, they did have a reason to worship the God as if they didn't, they would most certainly lose like they had done so many years before her time.

Kayma stopped in her tracks, causing Edmund to stop as well and turn towards his Queen. "Milady, you look pale. May I ask what is troubling you?" He questioned, but quickly bit his tongue when he thought he had the reason. "If it is of your father's passing, do not fret for he was an honorable man who died for a valiant cau-"

"The cause is stupid and worthless. It will bring us nothing but sorrow and death which everyone here knows, so why do we chose war over peace? Are we so incapable of living in anything save hatred that war is our 'go-to plan'?" Kayma snapped suddenly, stopping when heads turned towards her. It was a reckless decision to go so openly against the war, and even more so when it's their Queen. The council would have her ass if they learned she was openly protesting it. "Or so it would be if we end this war in failure," She corrected herself, and the smiles around her told the woman that her words were enough to distract them from the insults she had just hurled moments before.

  • Elijah wandered around his territory. He was in the center of the capital and he was growing sick of the war. People asked him question. Everyone kept calling meetings and the worst thing was that he was forced to attend. He was sick of the stupid war even though he was a skilled warrior. He was constantly at the back of the force anyway to avoid him dying. Apparently, it would lower morale. He walked towards the woods making sure to grab his bow first. He moved through the woods with the ease of practice. He climbed a tree to get a much needed nap as he listened to the sounds of the woods. (Low muse)

  • The couple continued walking, and Edmund was constantly bombarding her with questions about her health, the festival, and average small-talk. She simply endured the conversation until it hit the point where he was bragging about his army at the Battle of Brooke's Edge, and that's where she drew a thick, clear line in the sand.

Kayma stumbled purposefully, and held her pale head as Edmund turned to her in concern. "Fetch me some water," She ordered, waving her hand to shoo him away. When he opened his mouth to protest, she added, "Quickly now, I feel as though I might faint with this cold weather." That's when Edmund hurried off and left the Queen to her own devices.

Kayma darted into the alleyways, away from the mass of people who might recognize her or stop her. She walked hastily, but with caution with each step she took, until she was clear of the capitol. A smile came to her face as she lifted the skirts of her dress and ran for a moment longer, until she came to a sheer cliff, and leapt. The name of the place was "Suicide Drop", as so many came to end their lives here. Only the dragons who contained Royal blood from each element carried wings, and Kayma was quick to show hers as she spread into the form of the red, scaly lizard with steam coming off of her breath from the pure heat she retained. Her wings spread out wide, slowing her descent before rerouting her path towards Brooke's Edge, located at the very edge of their land, so that she may pay her respects for the men who had lost their lives in the bitter fight.

  • Elijah woke with a start and flipped out of his tree. He walked over to a large clear pond which was being fed by a waterfall. He transformed into his large green form and flew upward as his wings caught the wind. He soared to maximum height before diving with tremendous speed and sent water flying in a dazzling display. He swam underneath the water before surfacing and climbing onto land. He shook himself and looked at his gem-like scales.

He walked back to his home and sat down on the throne. He looked up as Isabelle walked up. He groaned inwardly. She had been trying to win his favor for over a month now, hoping to be able to get into the royal family through marriage. She was constantly pestering him. " Would you like to go to a dance? It would get you a chance to meet some of my friends fro-"
"I don't want to meet your stupid friends Isabelle. I have no doubt they are as vain and arrogant as you" Elijah said walking away before transforming and flying over the tree tops. His scales were like leaves and helped him blend with the woodland that covered their territory.

The war had been going good for his side and he was hoping it would be over soon. He was tired of the fire dragons but he was also sick of his own advisors. He flew upward and landed on a small cliff.

  • Kayma settled herself on the soft grass, the foliage that had once been a lush green but now it was black and dead from the scars of battle. She shifted into her full form and scanned her surroundings. Bodies, bodies everywhere, but none of them belonging to the fire Kingdom. They were abandoned by the Earth Kingdom, unable to be collected for burial by their own people due to her own people. It saddened Kayma, as all of these brave soldiers had left some kind of life back in their own Kingdom. They were fathers and brothers, sons and friends, all of them leaving behind those who care for them. They deserved some kind of burial, and while she was not able to dig a hole in the ground big enough for all of these bodies, she walked up to each and every individual and set their clothes and flesh on fire, allowing them to burn with the knowledge that their carcasses will not be hung at the Fire capitol's walls to be made an example of for all eternity.
