  • Adelaide Bordeaux has lived in the same countryside English town for her entire life. For years, she's seen the same faces, read the same street signs, heard the same voices, felt the same bitter chill of what many people call the "Eternal Winter of Rochester" for 18 years. She is finally in her senior year of high school, and is ready to get her diploma, go to a good school, and finally escape the small town she has been stuck in. But when a handsome, pale stranger enters her grade a month into the school year, staring at her like he's seen a ghost from his past, will she change her mind?

Adelaide pushed the heavy metal door of Rochester High School open, sighing. It was just another Monday, another bitterly cold October day. There were groups of people standing in the lobby and hallways of the school, gossiping and talking. Since Adelaide didn't have anyone to talk to, she made her way to her first class of the day: AP Chemistry. She stood awkwardly at her table, all alone, as others from her grade filtered in, laughing with their friends and taking their places at their tables. All the tables were filled to capacity, with two people at each table, except Adelaide's. She caught the conversation between two girls at the table in front of her. "Yeah, he's a transfer..... New from America or something...... He's really pale, but honestly, he's all muscle......" Adelaide listened for a moment, then tuned them out. She bent her head, her lower-back length hair falling forward like a curtain around her face. Her green eyes darted across the page of her textbook, taking in information. She could hear the teacher saying something. "..... New to us from America, he's going to be joining this class. It looks like the only place left is next to Adelaide. Go and set up over there, dear, she can explain what we're doing." Adelaide looked up at the sound of her name.

I was thinking that Adelaide looks a lot like a girl your character was in love with a long time ago, but she was killed. Please join! :)

"The Pokédex, eh? So... You're going to confine many, many Pokémon in Poké Balls for that, then. I'm a Trainer, too, but I can't help wondering... Are Pokémon really happy that way?"

"Klaus do you have everything? Are you sure your ready for this? There is going to be so much humans, so much temptation. You have survived on animal blood since you were a baby. Walter can always tutor you again." Katherine said, the vampire queen worried about her son. "Mother I will be fine. I'm turning a hundred and nineteen soon, I'm no longer a child." Klaus said kissing his mother's cheek and showing off a brilliant white smile. Katherine's chocolate eyes softened, looking into her son's blue ones. "Just be careful...please." She whispered. "I will." Klaus promised. "Prince Klaus, here are your keys." The butler, Walter said as he walked over handing the vampire prince his car keys. "Thank you Walter. I will see you all later." Klaus said before he left his house. He walked over to his car a red Lamborghini Veneno. There were only three in the world but guess who got his hands on a fourth one?

Klaus parked his car and headed into the school building. There were whispers going out all over the school. Who was the handsome American boy? Where did he come from? Was he new? Is that really his car? Klaus ignored the whispers, he could clearly hear them with his enhanced hearing. The sound of pounding hearts and the smell of warm fresh blood would have made the vampire prince hungry if he had not already had breakfast. He headed to his first class and entered the room. The teacher eagerly introducing him, "Everyone this is Klaus Lewis Dracul, he is a transfer student from Los Angeles California." The teacher said. Klaus tuned her out, just smiling at his classmates. When the teacher told him who to sit next to, he simply walked over and sat down next to her. He looked at her face and he just stared at her for a moment. That face...Rose? No it couldn't be...Rose was dead.

  • Adelaide looked up, color flooding her cheeks. She hated being the center of attention. Everyone was staring at them, a few girls were even openly glaring at her, as if to say, he's mine. Back off. She sighed, and turned to look at the new boy. "Basically, we're trying to get the cells to replicate without nuclei....." She went on, explaining all of it. She paused. "I should probably introduce myself. I'm Adelaide." She extended a pale hand. Her fingers were long and slim, with light blue veins visible just below the surface. Her pulse had quickened a bit at the sight of this boy's face, not that she noticed.

"It's nice to meet you Adelaide. Forgive me for staring, you just remind me of an old friend." Klaus said before shaking her hand. He could hear her pulse quickening, to be honest she smelled very good...delicious. Klaus' fangs itched to elongate and sink into the soft skin of her neck. He just wanted to get a taste of her sweet smelling blood....no no now he knew very well to avoid this girl till lunch time or she was going to be lunch. No this girl was definitely not Rose. His girlfriend from long ago had been mortal too but she had never been as shy and her blood had never tempted the vampire prince so much. Rose had sadly died in a house fire...Klaus had been unable to save her in time and it shattered his never beating heart. Even now, a century after her death...he still felt like her death had been his fault. He felt like he had failed her and he never knew if he could ever love again. "Well Adelaide, I am a bit unfamiliar with this. Do you perhaps have any notes I could copy?" He asked her, his voice was as smooth as silk. He had been here only a couple minutes and he had probaly already had half the girls in the school swooning. Not to mention becoming competition for single boys and stirring trouble with every boyfriend here.

  • "Oh, yeah. Here," she said, pulling out her notebook. She opened it and flipped through until she found the right page, and handed it to him. "Can I see your schedule, if you don't mind?"

  • "Sure here. Thanks for the notes." Klaus said before he handed her his schedule. He began to write down the notes. He had remarkable penmanship, his cursive was quite fancy.

  • Adelaide looked over the schedule. "That's funny. This is my exact schedule." She looked up at him. "I guess the school forgot to tell me I'm helping you out. The school gives everyone's grades to the parents of the new kid, and they can pick someone to help out their kid. I guess your mum and dad chose me." She slid his schedule across the table, and wrote down the homework in a day planner.

  • "Mum and Dad?" Klaus chuckled, smiling. "Your accent is actually quite cute." He said. Girls looked back at the two. Why was the American boy flirting with a nobody like Adelaide?

  • oops! sorry :-[

"Th-thanks," she stammered, feeling him lightly touch her hand. Her heart was pounding. Why was this cute American boy paying so much attention to her? He could have at least five of the fake-boob-platinum-blonde girls hanging off him like necklaces by now, but instead, he chose to talk to her. The artery in her neck was pounding more forcefully against the outside layer of her skin, unnoticeable to anyone who didn't have heightened senses. The blood was rushing through her veins quickly, causing a fight-or-flight feeling in Adelaide's brain. She could only sit there and stare at him. Then something snapped in her brain. Focus, girl! You need to snap out of it, NOW! She blinked a couple of times, her pulse still beating pretty quickly and forcefully.

Klaus noticed the vein in her neck, his eyes now focused on it. He felt his fangs elongate, his mouth watering. Just one bite. he thought. He snapped out of it and smiled at her, making sure to not show his teeth. His hand brushed a strand of hair off her neck. "You had a piece of hair there it was bothering me." Klaus said making and excuse. This girl really pushed him, he didn't know how long he could resist.

  • "Oh." She said quietly, staring at him. SNAP OUT OF IT! The bell rang. She got up, grabbing her car keys. She left, going to her next class.

"Hey wait!" Klaus said running up next to her. "I don't exactly know where my next class is. Care showing me the way?" He asked. She was a danger with her tempting blood but Klaus wanted to make a friend.

  • "Oh, that's right. We have the same class schedule," she said. "Ok, let's go...." She took her usual path, but it was blocked off. "Huh. The ceiling is being redone." She turned around, heading down a dark hallway. "Hold on. I can't believe I've never gone this way," she said, turning away from him and holding up a map to study. Everyone else was in class by now.

  • Klaus' s stomach growled, her heartbeat pounded in his ears. He felt his control slip away from him and hunger took over. He covered her mouth and pulled her closer to him. His eyes changed to ruby and his fangs elongated. He licked his lips, tracing a vein with one of his fingernails that had now grown into inch long claws. He sunk his fangs into her neck and began to feast on her blood. He moaned softly as the sweet warm liquid ran down his throat. So this was what human blood tasted like, it was much better than animal blood.

  • Adelaide screamed, then the screams gave way to whimpers of pleasure. Vampires had hormones in their saliva to make any human they fed on but didn't kill completely loyal to them. Her eyes half-closed, she smiled hazily, draping herself against him so he could feed easier. Klaus' smother came down the hallway, and stopped. "Klaus!" She said frantically, pulling him away from Adelaide, still smiling, she crumpled to the floor. "I was bringing you your lunch, but I see you already had some." She knelt and picked up the girl. "You have to leave. I have to leave. She will have to leave."
