Eventually, James simply curled up in the bed and pulled the blankets close around him, then set about crying himself to sleep. The sleep would be good for him, after all, but every time he closed his eyes he saw their spat playing out again, and this brought the tears. Eventually, his pillow damp from crying, James fell asleep.

"Why would you need to find somewhere to go?" He said, arching a brow at the girl, though her gaze was cast down to her feet. Even Allison had somewhere to go back to, even if her parents were dead, she still had her brother, and now even James, even if he had upset her with his words. She already cared about the both of them.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 230px; height: 220px; overflow: auto; font-family: Bookman old style; color: #66FFFF;]Willow shrugged again. "Suppose I wasn't wanted back where I came from any more," she murmured, voice laced with great sadness. Her mother had remarried, and she had another daughter with her new husband. She had bled out after giving birth, and in the three years since then her step-father fell on tough times. With no money to get food to feed her, she could either leave and find her own way or starve at home. He wasn't abusive, just desperate. And now Willow was alone. -
James fell in and out of dreams, tossing and turning and murmuring indecipherable words in his sleep. Mostly the dreams made him run away from one thing or another, never able to stop or rest. First his father. Then a screaming horde of villagers. Then the royal family themselves, although he had never seen them except from a distance. And then from Allison, who was holding a torch and threatening to finish what had been started on the day of his execution.
-
Allison clenched her jaw, running a hand through her blonde hair. She stayed silent, just staring at the girl before her for a moment, thinking. She was probably going to regret every move she made, then again, maybe she wouldn't. She didn't regret bringing James back with her, but he was going to end up dead if she hasn't, but this girl could too. Ben Allison would have in her situation. She let out a huff, irritated with herself. "Fine... Come with me, I'll see what I can do." She said, headed back to the house. She obviously couldn't just bring in another person without having her brothers consent.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 230px; height: 220px; overflow: auto; font-family: Bookman old style; color: #66FFFF;]Willow looked up and smiled, "Thank you," she said, gratefulness saturating her voice. She bit her lip as she trailed after her, playing with her hair. "My name's Willow, by the way," she added as an after thought. She assumed there was someone else the girl had to check with, and wasn't going to get her hopes up. Willow figured that at least she would at least get a meal out of this. The slender girl had so many thoughts running through her head as she walked slowly after her. -
It was the Allison dream that stayed, because when he glanced back a second time if was still her pursuing him. And then he was back in the thin, oil-soaked tunic he had worn to his execution, and there was the gag in his mouth all over again, and he could not feel his hands properly. The dream-Allison shouted something t him, and a pit opened beneath his feet and swallowed him whole, burying him in the ground where he could not move nor see.
-
Allison figured she needed to stop just bringing random people back, she didn't really need to be doing so. Even James, she hadn't planned on letting him stay, but now she didn't want him to leave. She looked back at her hearing her speak, and well, it seemed to just be an odd way to introduce herself, but the entire thing was odd. "Alright... I'm Allison." She said before turning back. She was walking pretty slowly, not really wanting to go back, but she couldn't hide forever. It's not like he'd be able to go after her in the first place.
-
James woke with a start, and for a moment he thought that he was still in the dream, buried alive somewhere where no one would ever find him - for he could not breathe. Two attempts brought no success, and he was forced to roll onto his side and support himself on his elbow and cough until he could finally get his throat clear and could breathe again.

For at least another ten minutes. Names are difficult, especially for this woman. She shuffled her feet after Allison, hoping she wouldn't get turned away. The very real possibility haunted her though. What if she didn't even bring her to a house, but just managed to lose her in a busy place?
No, positive thoughts. She was going to get food that wasn't days and days old. She might even get a place to rest her head for the night. More than one night. Willow looked at the heels of the other person she was following.

I'm so sorry. I got busy and I didn't really have much time. I'm so sorry again, and we can continue if you'd like.
Allison let out a small sigh and continued back to the house slowed, looking back at the other female a few times to see if she was still there. Allison was sure that he brother, Cade, wouldn't be all that happy that she was bringing home yet another stranger. But at least this time it was someone who could at least move, though, James was incapable of that due to her recklessness. And she couldn't really blame him. He'd had a cloth drenched in flammable oil in his mouth and was forced to inhale it, and then was cute rather harshly. Both being her fault. She said, nearing the small home, and looking up at it before stopping. "Ah... This is it. Feel free to go inside. I'm going to look for a small snack for us. I'll have to go back into town if there's another mouth to feed." She said quietly, unfortunately, it had come off as more harsh than originally intended.
-
(I am certainly up for continuing! Our third person has not been active for a while, though, so we might be going on without her.)
James had propped himself in the bed, leaning against the wall rather awkwardly. His two conditions, it seemed, were only worsening one another—to start clearing up his cough, he was fairly certain he needed to start moving around and going outside, but moving around ended up making his back hurt more than it had before. Yet when he tried to rest and keep laying down, his cough worsened. It was a puzzling sort of conundrum, and although he didn't like it, for the moment it was sufficient to distract him from thoughts of Allison.
-
(So continue now or wait a bit? Either's fine with me.)
Allison headed back into the woods, going straight for the areas she remembered last having edible food. She let out a sigh as she was kneeling down, looking at the small berries she held in her hand. No matter what she tried to do to distract herself from James, she was still worried about him, and still cared about him. Notto mention that she was already unconsciously so comfortable around him that she could cry in front of him, showing weakness without worry. No, ye couldn't physically hurt her at the time being, but what was reassuring was that she didn't feel he would if he had the choice. She continued gather a bit of food to eat, taking longer than she has expected, but making her way back to the house. -
(I would say to continue now—if she comes back, we can always catch her up on what happened.)
Eventually, the silence drove James back into his thoughts again, back to thinking of Allison and how he could possibly manage to make things alright again between them. Cade hadn't been any help at all, which left him with very few options. He could ignore the problem and hope it would go away, but he was almost certain that this would make it worse. He could try to apologize—which seemed to be the best option, given his situation—but he wasn't sure how much that would do, or if she would even accept it. He had to try though; he didn't want her to stay angry with him.
-
(Alrighty then mate.)
Allison walked back to the small hidden home, stopping as she approached the door, letting out a small sigh. Yes, she had gotten a bit of food they could eat if needed, but not very much seeing as she was having a hard time focusing on what she had been doing, or was trying to do. She opened the door slowly, walking in to see her brother look around the corner and give her a small greeting. She smiled and greeted him back, giving him a quick explanation as to what she had been doing while she had been gone. Though, Cade didn't seem surprised really at all, giving a small nod before returning to what he had been doing previously. Allison walked into the small kitchen, placing the fruits she'd found in a basket that had very few leftfrom the last time any had been collected; Cade having sone so, seeing as Allison had been held captive along with James. She ran a hair through her hair, slowly walking to the room Jamed was waiting in, going to check up on him.
-
When she entered the room, he was still sitting up. For a moment, he panicked and considered trying to lay down and act like he hadn't been sitting up in bed, but quickly realized that this would not help anything. So he offered a hesitant smile and said quietly, "A- Allison, I'm very sorry for what I said. I- I did not mean to hurt you or make you angry, truly. Will you forgive me?" Simpler than he might have liked, perhaps, but hopefully it would be enough.
-
Alison stopped a few steps inside the room, looked at James and blinking quickly twice, he head slightly tilting to the side as a natural reaction to her confusion. She hadn't expected an apology from him, really only having the experience of her and Cade's passive apologies. They'd get into a fight, and avoid each other for a bit until they had cooled off, and then made up without ever saying anything about it. It usually ended in them tumbling along the floor of the house or somewhere grassy outside. She let out a small breath, walking over to James. "No, it's fine really. I should not have reacted they way I did. I was being over emotional, having had the bew about my parents being a bit much for me to handle. I think I took it out on you, I'm sorry for that." She said, offering a small apologetic smile. The words came off her tongue as strnage, never having had a reason to verbally apologize before.
-
James nodded, staying silent for a few moments. He wasn't quite sure what to say after this; she didn't seem used to apologies and it was making him a little nervous. At last, though, he managed a quiet, "Well, you know...now that that's over and done with, I- I'd like to ask you about what I should do to try and get better. I mean, I- I know you'd told me to rest because of my back, but I think that not moving around enough will only make my cough worse, which will make me weaker. What do you think?"
