  • "Well, you just had to say that didn't you? Did you want to ruin any chances you had with her?" Cade groaned. "If she was like every other person you've met, would you actually have feelings for her? I dint get why you don't realize these things?" Cade said, sighing, and shaking his head. "And how exactly do you plan to fix this?" He asked.

  • James flinched. "I- I didn't mean to! And I don't know how to fix it. I'll apologize, of course...but I don't know how much good that will do. And I don't know what else I can do. I'm stuck in a bed, so it's not like- like I can do much besides try to talk to her, and I doubt she wants to hear anything I have to say." He took a long, shaky breath. "Can you help me?"

  • "I don't know how you expect me to help you. For one, I've never put her in a situation like that, and second, you two have a relationship other than family." Cade said, walking into the room, shaking his head slightly. "All I can really say is to let her calm down before you talk to her. Other than that, I've nothing." He added.

  • "But you've dealt with her when she's angry before," James pointed out, pleading now. "So you would know what's best for calming her down and how I can maybe start to get back on her good side and regain her trust. I- I didn't mean to make her angry. I know I messed up badly and that everything that happened is my fault, but I- I didn't mean it. I want a second chance."

  • "I have dealt with her when she's angry. But I've always just left her alone. Besides, you normally can't find you that easily, but she goes near the river." Cade said, sighing. "If you want a second chance, you'll just have to figure it out. It's complicated when she's angry. Anything could make it worse. That's why I said you need to wait. You can think while she calms down..." He said, pausing for a moment. "You've dealt with her when she was upset, it's almost the same thing." He added.

  • James shook his head. "No...that's not at all the same. Before she was upset over something that she had learned, not at me. This time it is different because her anger has a source and a target." He glanced longingly toward the door, this room feeling more and more like a prison. He wanted to be outside, to breathe the fresh air and feel the wind on his face. But he was as trapped as he had been in the dungeons, waiting for Allison to come back and for her judgement to be passed.

  • "If that's how you put it, then it really is the same. She had a source and a target when she was upset before. She was angry at me, but she could have just as easily gone to the people got the information from and directed her anger at them. The onlt thing different, is that it's you she angry at." Cade said bluntly. There weren't that big of differences in the two time; Allison was upset, but she was also angry, at a lot of people. THe ones who had the information, the people who killed their parent, and even Cade.

  • James knew the difference was mostly just one revolving around him. Before, she hadn't been angry at him, and so he had been able to do something to help her. But now, her anger was directed at him, and it was making him miserable and lonely. The worst part was that he couldn't even go out and find her to apologize, or to do something kind to help make up for it. So he did not reply to Cade, just pulled his knees in a little more tightly and would not look up, tears stinging at his eyes.

  • "I can't help you with fixing it. You were the one who actually helped me. So I'm sure you can figure out what to do." Cade said before dropping his arms from his chest and turning to walk away. "You're just going to have to wait until she comes back in here to do something for you. Even if she's angry with you, she's not just going to ignore you until she's not." He added before actually walking from the room, seeing as he wouldn't be getting a response.

  • That was hardly fair, in James' mind. He had helped Cade, so Cade wasn't going to help him? That was certainly not how the repayment of debts usually worked. But what could he do? He could try to apologize, but what if he tried to explain what he had meant and only ended up making things worse? It doesn't help that she's not really understanding, either...

Willow dragged her feet as she walked along the river, her lack of sleep evident in her face and posture. Her pale blonde, almost grey, hair was slung over her shoulder in a messy but seemingly elaborate braid, and swayed as she trudged along. The girl watched the ground a few feet in front of her rather than straight ahead of her, as if the effort of lifting her head wasn't worth it. Her clothes were wrinkled and dirty, but were clearly hers as they fit her well. She had a worn messenger bag at her side that looked nearly empty, the strap crossing her chest.

  • Allison moved her head up from looking at the water, instead looking around her, hearing a light cracking as someone, or something walked up the river bank. She couldn't really tell if it was an animal or someone that shouldn't be there. She narrowed her eyes, tilting her head, looking to see if she could tell anything. If it was another attack, she already knew she would end up either severely hurt, or dead, but if not... Well, it would depend. She slowly stood up.

(Hey cx (Psh, that's not like four days late xc I'm getting pretty busy.))

  • James lay still and stared up at the ceiling, trying to figure out exactly what he could do for Allison. Being stuck in a bed only made things harder, especially when he had no doubt that she would become even more angry with him if he tried to get out of bed. It's hard to try and make her happy when I don't know she she wants, he decided. No matter what I do, it could be taken the wrong way or twisted into something else.

Willow kept walking, too distracted by her thoughts to notice the movement in front of her. Well, until she practically walked straight into someone. She stopped suddenly in surprise and took a few steps back looking up. "Ah, I'm sorry!" she yelped with wide, green eyes. She reached up and shoved her bangs out of her face to seem more presentable. Willow looked her "victim" up and down and saw that she didn't seem the type to get aggressively upset.

  • Allison made a face, shaking her head. It was just another female, and honestly, she might have seemed lost. It only proved to show that she was paranoid because of the earlier attack. "No, it's fine... But what are you doing out here?" She questioned, blue eyes meeting green.

    ||IC|| Willow sighed in relief that she wasn't upset. Then she looked down, and shrugged. "Just trying to find somewhere to go," the girl said quietly. Her bangs had fallen back down into her face, covering most of her eyes. Her shoulders sagged down as she remembered why she was left to wander the streets on her own. Her eyes traced the edge of her worn shoes while she wondered what the other girl, who seemed around her own age if a year or two older, would do next.
