    Nightstar saw jawstripe and Waterpaw emerge from the entrance, and Waterpaw looked thin again

    Greytail curled her tail around her paws 'Should I tell Goldenpaw?' she asked herself in her thoughts.

    Nightstar looked at all the cats waiting for Goldenpaw to come

    Nightstar spoke "golden paw, can you please join me in high rock"


    Goldenpaw raced up


    Nightstar smiled at her then turned back to the crowd "from this day forth, Goldenpaw will be called Goldenfur. She will sit in vigil tonight as we rest, to know that we will be protected by one of our newest warriors"


    Golden fur was so surprised her fur stood on end.


    Nightstar waited til the cats settled down. " I also have the news of who is going to the gathering tomorrow. Platinumpaw, goldenleaf, grey tail, jawstripe, and water paw. That is all" she jumped off high rock and went in her den



    Goldenfur saw the big moon rise upon her head. As she saw the cats enter their dens, she went to the middle of the camp and watched the entrance carefully being alert of the sounds

    Greytail padded over to Goldenfur "Congratulations" she meowed smiling 'should I tell her now?' she thought.

    "Thank you. I can't wait to be the best warrior ever!!" She said

    She smiled 'Im going to tell her...' she thought "Goldenfur... I have something to tell you..." she meowed

    "What! You said you were a friend of mine who took care of me!!!" She said, surprised "how could you lie to me! Tell me the truth, what happened to my mother" she said, seriously

    Greytail's eyes filled with sadness "Your mother was my sister and" she began and started to cry "She died giving birth to you..." she finished then looked at the ground, she was still crying.

    Goldenfur calmed down and looked at her. "Please forgive me. My anger gets out of hand. Thank you for taking care of me" she smiled at her "I mean, you trained me well and that's all that matters is that I'm still alive" she said

    Greytail stopped crying and looked at Goldenfur "Its fine" she meowed "Im just glad I told you" she meowed then hugged her.

    Melany's dark eyes clouded for a moment.



    Dovefeather's pale gray pelt vanished into the undergrowth.
