A ginger brown kit lay on the ground. There was a nick in her ear and she looked a bit wounded. She let out a moan and stood up. Her fur pricked as a low growl came from nearby. A large fox stepped out of the shadows, teeth bared. It licked it's muzzle and lunged at her.

Lae had been searching hours for food and had finally found some, only trouble was that it was a kit. Not that she had a problem with eating kits, but the thing would cry and attract attention the whole time. It was better than no food, Lae reminded herself, pouncing out of the shadows. She did her best to act scary by baring her fangs and growling. She stepped forward and grabbed the kit by it's scruff and carried it up into the tree.
