Riley stepped off and followed. He was constantly turning his head, taking in the sights around him. "Even in death, they still serve the living." He said to himself. It was so strange, this way of life where the living and dead walked the same streets, but he guessed it was all normal for these people. He turned his gaze towards the statue. It made him wonder what sort of beliefs these people held. Who were their gods or goddesses? Did they even have any? He had so many questions, but he was afraid to break the deathly silence of this place.

As they reached the statue, yet another cloaked figure was present, but she was different. Dark magic seeped from her aura. She was a master Majo, Rhyder had realized. He half expected to see a ghastly, old woman behind the cowl, but instead got a somewhat younger result. This woman was in her early 30's! Or if would appear. Many earrings were placed on her right ear while rings were worn on her left hand. She was as beautiful as the others were, maybe even more so if ave were a factor. It was questionable how long she'd lived.
-
Riley couldn't help but stare. It was a mix of her beauty and her magic that enthralled him. She had such strong magic, much more then the body could hide, more power then anyone he had EVER met before. He wasn't sure how much longer he could contain the curiosity that was eating away at him. If it weren't for the Prince and General, he would have started firing questions as soon as he arrive, especially about their magic. Her beauty however, was also extremely riveting. He found himself unable to look away.
-
The woman stared back at Riley. "You seem to have many a question. Better to answer them here and now before we discuss anything else." She smiled in unison with Rhyder who grinned at the comment.
-
Riley nodded. He thought for a moment about which to ask. He would save his questions about magic for when the Price and General weren't around. "I must say, you have an interesting way of life from what I've seen. How did it begin? What's the history behind your people?"
-
"What of? There are many stories in Ferau culture. Well, maybe I should start simple." She looked at the sky and above circled seven stars brighter than the surrounding. "The goddess of all creation was the same in every culture, as was ours. As she gazed upon these seven stars, she noticed they had many qualities, individually: cunning, strength, wisdom, serene, endurance, compassion, and above all, exquisite beauty. She admired their qualities, but could not find haven for her newest creation; the other races had already adapted to their areas. She then scoured the land once more, finally deciding, she would let the stars fall from the heavens. Where they fell would be the future for Ferau there." She referred to her people. "We are the Rajah, born on the setting sun, fairest of our kind. This desert haven provides shelter for treasure like us, do you agree, for such beauty would certainly be envied?" The prince nodded in understanding. "But what of the other 6?" He asked. "A star laid to rest under Lake Hylia, where it was nurtured by the Zora, taken in as their own. As it grew, its likeness was shaped by the very form of its caretakers. These Ferau, the Valpha tribe, grew tail fins, gills, their hair as shines like silver; born in the depths they are the serene." She then pointed far to the north at the snowy peaks. "The star's heat was consumed, but its spirit endured." She hinted the trait. "The Despoir have great respect for the overcoming of trifles. The Derott are the proud and strong. Even matching the Goron in strength and adversity eventually! Born from the fires of this world. One still remained in the sky, frightened to touch the ground below, yet still bold enough to study its inhabitants; the Esteri are the keepers of wisdom among the Ferau, even contributing knowledge to found the laws of the triforce. The most common, the Yittirgal, tamed the beasts of Termina, eventually venturing elsewhere, befriending those mighty or feeble. The nomad's compassion was the favorite of the goddess, granting them the birth of spiritual magic, a power bound by the bounty of life. The Dhyttiu, such horror," She shuddered before continuing. "The star, cunning and sly, buried itself beneath the world of light, sheltering the Dhyttiu. Fair skinned, they wear dark clothing, masking their rose-like beauty. Their thorns are the most poisonous, however.........But, I have said there are only 7, but maybe...just maybe.....it still survived..." She trailed off.
-
"Do you believe it did?" Riley asked. He was quite fascinated by her story. It was one that kind of captured the imagination. He wanted to learn more of these people, learn their way of life, their culture, their magic. He wasn't as afraid of the dark magic now, seeing how it could be used for good. Maybe, if he was lucky... They would teach him.
-
Her forsight pried into his inside voice a bit, a tad rude, but she knew he had many questions. "Not all Ferau use dark magic only 2 of the seven do." She changed back to the subject on the stars. "Maybe, no one's seen it for thousands of years. The star of Novestra was thought to have been severed in half, never to be seen again."

Riley nodded. "I must say, your people have a amazing origin story." He said. He wanted to ask more, but he thought it would be better if he didn't hold them up. "We should continue on. I didn't mean to take up so much of your time."
-
"It is fine." She told him. "Come now." She lead the three up the stairs to the top of the statue. Rhyder shrugged and followed, knowing that the general had already gone to scout the marketplace; what he did was none of the prince's concern.
-
Riley followed, occasionally looking back, watching the market grow smaller below them. He looked up above them at the night sky. The stars seemed to shine brighter here, not dimmed by the lights of the city of Hyrule. It was quite peaceful.
-
As they reached the top, the stars' light connected with one another closely, too close. They formed shapes, until they created a glowing staircase in the sky. Rhyder was speechless at this time; all the while, the Rajah Queen stood smiling, proud of her handiwork.
-
Riley couldn't hide his amazement. "It's quite beautiful." He said. "I wish I could do that."
-
"Dark magic is beautiful in its own way. Now," She led them to a plateau where she discussed the peace treaty. "....You have our gratitude for coming here, but I'm afraid we cannot accept this agreement." The prince was the first to react. "But you said that you would-" "I said that I would give you my answer, that is all."
-
Riley looked between the two, a bit surprised how abruptly she informed them of her decision. "Is there a reason, if I may ask, for you declining?" Riley inquired.
-
"As you know we wield the dark magics, one such power is future sight. If this treaty takes place, it will wipe all Ferau from the face of the earth." She seemed saddened to say this. "And it would be by the very people we chose to befriend that betrayed us in the end." Rhyder was shocked at this and noted to tread lightly now; her emotional state was the influence for dark magic.
-
Riley was startled by this new development. A treaty for peace would bring death? He looked from her to Rhyder. "How could finding peace possibly result in such an ending? You would never cause harm to those you ally with."
-
"When one uses military power, there is much to gain by taking us off the map." She looked below her, as if hinting about a certain person. Rhyder looked down below not knowing what she meant. No one was down there, except his general. "Are you saying he is the one who will bring you ruin?" Suddenly, there was a large explosion at the base of the statue, destroying its lower half. They had to cling to each other to stay standing, but there was the other problem; the statue was falling. She shook her head at his answer, feeling this was the right time. "Not just my ruin, yours as well!"
-
Riley was a bit more concerned with the fact that they were on top of the collapsing statue. He nearly slipped as it shook, having to grab onto the Prince to keep from falling. Any other time he would have apologized, though right now wasn't the time.

King.
