  • This story takes place on an alternate timeline, where Katniss did not shoot Coin at the end of Mockingjay.

The rebels have won. The Capitol has fallen and their way of life is a smoldering ruin. As punishment and retribution for the years of oppression, twenty four Capitol children have been placed in a new arena; the ruins of the former Capitol. These twelve boys and twelve girls, who have been raised since birth in luxury and comfort, must fight and kill each other until one remains. Among these tributes is former President Snow's granddaughter (played by you) and the nephew of one-time gamemaster Seneca Crane (played by me).

Twenty four children entered the arena. Only one will live. Will it be you?

The roleplay starts out with both of us rping only one character, but you can choose to play as many tributes as you want (up to twenty three, of course).

  • First we should make character forms, I think. You have to at least make one for Snow's granddaughter, but you can make as many others as you want.

    Name: Fabius Crane
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male
Personality: Shy and quiet. He's a tad whimsical and easily distracted. Despite all this, he is somewhat lacking the usual Capitol personality and airs.
History: Fabius' parents died when he was young, killed when their hovercraft malfunctioned and crashed. He was taken in by his uncle, Seneca Crane (going from the book, not the movie, so we don't know much about Seneca Crane). When his uncle and guardian was killed, it pierced poor Fabius to the core. He has a deep, latent grudge against Snow and his family.

  • Name: Pearl Snow
    Age: 15
    Gender: female
Personality: Pearl is easygoing and laid back. She's never really dealt with hardships or problems in her life. Although it might seem like Pearl is spoiled and can't do anything for herself, she actually is see hat self sufficient. If someone makes Pearl angry or is hurting her, she will lash out. Pearl protects the people she loves fiercely.

  • Good. Now we can start. Do you want it to be straight into the arena, or do you want to do some of the pre-arena stuff like interviews and costumes?

  • Sure.

Fabius sat in a chair at the front of the crowd. He, along with the other eight hundred and seventy five capitol children who had survived the war and were old enough to qualify for the games, waited with dread for the reaping to begin. To a fanfare of trumpets, the reaper stepped out from behind a partitioned curtain and stepped onto the stage, which was set in the middle of the largest square in District 1.

The reaper was easily recognizable from her appearances in rebel propos and Capitol terrorist alerts. Katniss Everdeen stood in front of the reaping balls, he face stony and expressionless. Wordlessly, without preamble or an opening speech, Katniss reached a hand into the male reaping ball. She pulled a name. "Georgis Romulan." A loud sob of despair came from the throat of the boy sitting next to him as he was dragged roughly to the stage. Then Katniss fished around the female reaping ball.

These Games were set up similarly to how the old ones used to work. A pair of tributes, one boy and one girl, were chosen at random and paired together. They would train together, live in the same lodgings, and generally get to know each other, presumably to make it more painful when they inevitably fought to the death. On and on the reapings went, with child after sobbing child being taken to the stage. And finally, only two slots were left to fill. Katniss pulled out another tiny slip of paper from the male reaping ball and read it aloud, more curtly than the others. "Fabius Crane."

Unlike most of the others, Fabius didn't protest or cry as he was taken to the stage. Rather, he just stared at Katniss. Not glared, but stared at her with a neutral expression. Katniss glanced at him, then turned her attention to the female reaping ball. Reaching in, she pulled out the last slip, representing the last of twenty four children doomed to the arena. Only Fabius, from where he was standing, could read the name on the paper, which was Gloriana Scipio. Katniss looked up, turning her face out to the crowd. Anyone observant could see the simmering emotions beneath her stony exterior as she proclaimed, "The last tribute is Pearl Snow."

  • Pearl felt her heart skip a beat. She felt like she wanted to run away, screaming. She said nothing as she was brought up to the stage. She wouldn't let anyone see that she was afraid to be reaped. Pearl glanced at Katniss. She had to endure this twice. If she can do it, then I can,Pearl thought. She knew that this day would come and she had to be brave. Pearl smoothed her light blue dress trying to conceal her trembling hands.

  • Fabius was moved to stand beside Pearl. "We will now announce the trainer for each pair of tributes," Katniss said loudly. She stepped aside, and President Coin stepped forward with another reaping ball. She called out the names of trainers one by one. Fabius felt bad for the kids who had Annie Cresta as their female trainer and BeeTee as their male. A worse pair for winning these games, he couldn't think of. As there were very few victors left alive, trainers were also reaped from a pool of military commanders and political figures. As Coin got to the last drawing, which would determine Fabius and Pearl's trainers, she paused. When she drew the names, her lips twitched ever so slightly. "Katniss Everdeen and Gale Hawethorne." The crowd in the square erupted in noise. Katniss froze as if physically shocked, then turned and stared at the two of them. Relatives of two people who had made her life hell.

  • Pearl was as shocked as Katniss. She never would have thought that the two people that probably hated them would be their trainers. Now we'll get no sponsers, she thought. Pearl glanced at Fabius. She wondered what he thought about Katniss and Hale being their trainers.

  • Fabius was sp[eechelss. He zoned out of everything as he attempted to collect himself, so much so that he barely noticed being shoved off the stage and taken to the private room where they would meet their trainers one on one for the first time.

  • Ooc: Pearl and Fabius meet their trainers at the same time, right? Sorry. There are a few things I've forgotten about the Hunger Games.

  • Pearl paced around the room. They'll make sure that we lose. That hared my grandfather. They'll probably enjoy watching me die,Pearl thought.

  • (could you rp Gale, please?)

Fabius and Pearl were led into the room where they would meet their mentors. They sat in silence for several minutes , until finally the doors opened again and Katniss walked in, her hair in it's signature braid. She sat down across from Pearl, not looking at them.

  • Ooc: Yeah.

Ic: Gale sat across from Fabius. He looked at Katniss, waiting for her to start talking. Pearl looked up at Katniss.
