This is so that you can say anything, talk about problems (try to find solutions?). Even if you just want to chat, it doesn't matter. Everyone is going through something. We all need a friend.

    Thank you so much for telling someone, because things like this can become SERIOUS problems. If am to be completely serious, I have a VERY similar problem. My dad, in sweetest terms, is a control freak. But he is constantly screaming and cursing at me, and my mom. Let's just say he is verbally abusive, and as an effect, this problem is the center of my life and I grow increasingly scared of him. For my situation, it has been going on forever, though he has gotten increasingly worse. I many times have had bruises on my arms. No, he ahs never hit me, but because he will sometimes dig his fingers into me. A few times I have almost run away, but I have to stay for my mom. I recently had the CAP program come to my school and have learned that small things just like demeaning you and putting you down is being verbally abusive and that small things like that are very serious and that you need to tell people. I have told a few of my friends, but I didn't as it got worse and I'm sure they have forgotten by now. I understand.

    Is there any one you could talk to? I have been going to counseling on and off for years.
    I find sometimes it might be easier to talk to someone you don't know that well. I talked to a boy in my class and he was nice about it. He told me about a time when his dad got mad and punched a hole through the wall.
    I always want to confront my dad, but am too scared. When I am old enough to have a job, though, my dad is kicking me out with my mom.

    I do have a school counselor... but she is more of a school issue kind of counselor, so I'm not really sure she would be the one to talk to. And because my school is so small (7th and 8th together being only 12 students) i am really close to my classmates. That being said it is kind of hard to find someone that I'm not really that close to.

    there are these super obnoxious kids (not even a chance) and then my next door neighbor (hes 14) and has cancer... so he is out. Then there is my other next door neighbors but they are always gone, and all my other neighbors I don't really know that well (cuz' I don't like talking to people) so... there isn't really anyone to talk to.

    Alright, well I have one more options. Because I know how hard it would be to talk to your mom about this, I would suggest that if you are allowed to go out by yourself (or maybe if you schedule a sleepover or something and am able to slip a note on the table before you leave) you can leave a note explaining something's and then leave, ost hat your mom can read it by herself, and have time to think about it. Now, my dad has also gone to a bit of counseling at my moms persistence, and nothing has changed. It may be the same way, but it might feel good to get some things off your chest.

    Maybe that would work... but my mom would obviously not take it lightly. The minute i would get home she would start waving the note in my face and scream at me. My dad has tried to talk to my mom about being easier on me and my siblings, but she just gets mad at him... but maybe if i gain enough courage i can try that.

    Yeah I don't usually talk around my mom and when i do it's to either apologize or about a two sentance convo. The only really time i talk to her is when my friends are over because she can't yell at me in front of my friends.... she still does threaten me though.....

    Usually its just about taking away stuff from me like video games or my wacom tablet but it really scares me still, well because she swears and yells at me... she does it when my dad is gone and then blames everything on me when he gets back.
