to the naked eye, ellie seems to a cold, heartless person. that's everyone's assumptions when they see her. she's known to be quite rude and unwelcoming to the majority of people she meets. but in reality, that's how she wants to act. she doesn't know how to hide what she actually feels and she has the habit of putting off people. she's terrified of anyone actually knowing who she is and what she's been doing with herself. she always put up a wall in front of herself, hence the fact that she's scared of actually revealing herself to anyone.

when she was young, her father was an avid drinker. her mother was extremely worried for him, but she didn't know what he actually was. since her mother came home from work late, she was left alone with her father. her father always drank, ignoring ellie whenever he could. being young, she didn't know what to do. her father one night struck her. she didn't know why he did so, but he didn't stop after that. when he drank, he went into a strange phase. he would always hit her. and when her mother found out, all she did was leave. she packed up her bags and left. being so young, ellie didn't know what to do. when she got into high school, things got worse. she was always outspoken, people telling her she was worthless. she started to find herself cutting when she could. ellie couldn't find any happiness, and her father never helped her either. soon, all she heard was the words others murmured about her. then, she became obsessed with being thin. skipping meals when she could. then, one night, her father had gotten drunk as usual. but this time, he lashed out so hard. her neighbors heard her screams and dialed the police. when they came, her father was arrested quickly. without anyone to care for her, ellie was sent to this orphanage.

to anyone, jai looks almost intimidating, when he's really kind. he has something like an edge to him that makes him rough. he has a caring touch to me and acts as someone that looks over everyone. he tries his best to make everyone feel like they're at home. he tries to offer himself as nice as he can be. but since he's bipolar, he does come off as rude on some days. he tries to be gentle to anyone he meets and does his best to come off as friendly or nice.

when he was young, his mother had cheated on his father. so he and his younger sister, annabeth, moved from house to house usually. he knew how hard it was for himself, but he only cared about how annabeth was doing. he usually was the one watching his younger sister. but when he was seventeen and annabeth was ten, their father passed away due to cancer. they were forced to stay with their mother. jai dreaded each day, seeing her mother go through people quickly. finally, he saw a safe opportunity for annabeth. their father's grandparents had heard about their mother through their father and had wanted annabeth to be safe. jai took annabeth to their grandparents and let her stay there, where she's been living for a while, safely. for about a month, jai had to stay with his mother. he always yelled at her, telling her to do something right. but finally, he had seen something about sky view orphanage. he once ran away, ending up at the orphanage. now, he's been there ever since.

Rebellious:
Nixon is not what you'd expect from a 13 year old. He's very rebellious and sly, like his older brother, but Nixon is way more stubborn. He doesn't really care about the rules, and will cuss somebody out if he has to.

Bad influence:
Nixon is surprisingly looked down upon by older people. Since he has these ridiculous traits, he is told not to be hung around. They are right, but there is a lot to Nixon that you should know about.

Secretive:
Nixon tries to hide his feelings a lot of the times, because he doesn't want to be seen as a weakling. But he may be hurting, saddened, or may be experiencing the butterflies secretly and you wouldn't even know it. He uses excuses and remarks to change the subject, but close friends could always catch when he has emotions.

Charming:
Can you believe it?! Nixon is a charming young man! Hey, he may be a punker, but knows his way around the ladies. He tries to look his best with the catchiest clothing, and might be a bit of a flirt. But if the right girl came along, he'd protect you and hold you like no tomorrow. Though he seems like a player, he's really not.

Fun:
Nixon is very fun indeed! He loves to live life to the fullest and perform all the craziest stunts! He likes to be loud and do his best in everything.

Sweet:
You don't see this side very much, but Nixon is sweet. If he's saddened, he is usually quiet and gentle with everyone, and you'll catch this for sure. He is friendly, even though he may have a stone outer shell.

History;;
Nixon was born in San Diego, California. Most children live good lives in the city, fulfilling the dream, hanging with friends, and going to the beach. But no, Nixon was the complete opposite. His father didn't intend on having a child with his mother, so Nixon was often scowled upon by his own father. Nixon's dad was a criminal that was just let out of jail a year before, and just as soon as he was free, he was stuck with a kid. Since his father was an alcoholic, he often got wasted and abused Nixon, physically and mentally, through childhood.
At school, Nixon grew aggressive towards other kids and was intimidated by many, getting in trouble a lot as well. And what didn't help was that his parents constantly argued, and the police had to come a few times. In a few years, when Nixon was just 11, his mother grew deathly ill with Tuberculosis. She did 6 months after, and Nixon was adopted into an orphanage since his father couldn't take care of him, being taken to jail a few days after for drunkly breaking into a bank.
