Victor swam over to her, helping her to the shore.
-
She hugged him close, shivering from both the cold and fear.
-
He took off the jacket he was wearing, rang it out and then put it over her sholders, even though it was still damp he hoped that it would at least keep her warmer than what she was.
-
She looked at him. "A-aren't you cold too?"
-
He whispered so that she couldn't tell that he was cold, "I'll be fine, your more important." He smiled.
-
She shook her her head, pulling him close. "We can share the warmth," she said softly.
-
He smiled and pulled her close to him, putting his arm around her. He laid his head on top of hers.
-
She closed her eyes, trying to warm herself and him.
-
Victor opened his eyes wondering where the other guys were.
-
Suddenly, admitting and Vladimir came over through the trees.
"Are you two alright?"
-
"Yes, but she's a bit cold thanks to that stupid stunt you made us pull!" He got up and yelled this is in face.
-
"I just saved both of your asses!" He yelled back.
-
"By trying to kill us again in the process?!" Victor spat in his face. He was furious.
-
Anya gently grabbed his arm. "It's f-f-fine V-victor," she said softly.
-
"No it's not Anya. They tried to kill us because they think your the lost dutchuss." He tried to be nice to her but ended up yelling with his anger built up for the guys who made them jump.
-
Anya flinched as if she had been slapped. "Well, at least we are alive now! It was the only way!" She exclaimed, though it wasn't in anger, more in a defensive tone. "If we hadn't jumped, we would have died! If you want to yell about it, go ahead, but I'm coming along because, who says I'm not Anastasia?!" She looked down. "Going to Paris and talking with the Dowager empress...it's the only chance I have to find my family. Without this, I'm just Anya the nobody that was abandoned and can't remember anything... It's the only chance I have to belong...to find out who I actually am." A few tears fell down her cheeks and she gave him his coat. "Now, you can come with me, or you can keep us all here and continue yelling. I'm not going to stand around and freeze to death just to get my damn feelings hurt, alright?"
-
Victor stood shocked. "Fine." he said looking at his feet. She wasn't the only one that doesn't have a past, Victor had always grown up on the streets never to know anything about his past. Then the day he helped the girl at the trainsation when he was younger was the only thing that mattered, and now that he had found her again he felt like he had purpose. But now all he wanted to do was go back to being a nobody.
-
Anya looked down and walked off, more tears falling as she sniffed loudly.
"Hey! " Dmitri yelled. "Where are you going?! Don't just walk away because of a lovers' spat!"
"I'm going to get wood," she said, her voice cracking.
Vladimir sighed.
Pooka barked at Victor, grabbing his pants and trying to drag him in a direction.
-
Victor looked down at the dog and followed him.
