Hookbeak hopped over and tapped it gently with her beak. ''Who do you think it came from?''
Screechsong huddled closer to Yellowtalon.
Hookbeak hopped over and tapped it gently with her beak. ''Who do you think it came from?''
Screechsong huddled closer to Yellowtalon.
"Probably either me or you," said Sharptalon. "Back when we had just hatched," he added. Yellowtalon quickly fell asleep.
She noticed it was a bit small. ''Bet it was yours!'' Hookbeak snorted.
Screechsong stirred.
"No way! I'm much larger than you are," he retorted to his sister. He snuggled down near the edge of the nest and slept.
''So what, you could have grown, but you're still a little baby!'' She snickered.
''Shut up and sleep,'' She muttered, opening an eye.
As dawn approached, Sharptalon woke up and flew away, before any of the others woke up. He flew all the way to the other side of the lake, and perched on a tree branch. As he saw a flicker in the water, he dove down to catch it. He emerged his talons from the water, along with the fish they were clamped into. He took it back to the perch and ate most of it.
Screechsong opened her eyes.
Hookbeak slept.
The sun had then just finished getting above the trees, when Yellowtalon awoke. Looking around the nest, he said, "Where's Sharptalon?". "Do either of you know?" he asked.
''Uh. . . no,'' She murmured, fully awake.
Hookbeak stirred and opened her eyes. ''What is it?''
"Hookbeak is missing," Yellowtalon explained to his daughter. "We should go look for him," he added. He soared out of the nest over the lake, looking for his son.
Silverwing an average sized female bald eagle, with silvery grey tipped feathers, soared above the lake. Her sharp, honey colored eyes were focused on the semi clear water below, searching for the quick silver flashes that would alert her to a fish that had strayed to close to the surface. There! to her left, the glint of grey scales reflecting off the sun. She made a minute adjustment to the angle of her wings, and wheeled around. She carefully lined herself up, and then pulled her wings in for a dive, shooting towards the water like a bullet. She spread her wings again at just the right moment, and let her outstretched talons rake through the water, hooking them into the fish she'd targeted. Once she had a firm grip, she began flapping hard to gain more altitude, it took some doing, but she eventually made it back to a sturdy tree branch and settled down to eat her catch.
She blinked then got up on her talons, stretching her wings in the sunlight before flapping off in another direction in search of Sharptalon.
Thundershock is back... a male with dark wings and vibrant eyes and very long claws and is mateless
Silverwing began plucking the scales from her catch to get to the tender meat below, her claws gripping the fish tightly.
Thundershock went hunting for a rabbit.
When she finished her fish, Silverwing let the bones fall to the ground next to the pile of sliver scales she had discarded. Running her pale yellow beak through her feathers, she preened for a moment before taking to the air again.
He screeched, he was lonely, without a mate, he had no one to be with, all other females had a mate already... but he would not loose hope that one was free and likes him!
Her silvery-grey lined feathers glinting off the sun, Silverwing tilted her head when she heard a screech in the distance. Soaring above the lake in a circle, she responded with a curious screech of her own.
Thundershock was ecstatic, there was a female, a curios one, but he musn't get his hopes up, he screeched back while puffing up his feathers, he had caught a beautiful fish earlier, hoping maybe he wouldn't have to eat it alone
Blinking in surprise when she was almost immediately answered, Silverwing's interest and curiosity rose. She called back once more and angled her wings so that she was flying towards the unknown male.
