Zeni padded around a small room of her house, slightly disturbed by a ripped and tattered sheet lying crumpled on the floor. There were a few sheets, but this wasn't the one she used as a nest. It smelled more of musty wood and dead leaves. It had something more. She stopped pacing and finally brought herself to pad up to the sheet and began to unfold it, uncovering a small straw nest that had a stale scent of rat. "Huh..." she said to herself. It never occurred to her before to how rats could even stay at a place now owned by cats.
But something else was there. She grabbed the sheet in her jaws and tugged it to the side of the room the best she could. Letting it go, Zeni put too much weight on her injured front leg.
    Pain shot up it. "Ow!"

I hissed from the pain, but I stared at the wall where the blanket was. It was some kind of shiny metal tunnel. Crouching over and looking into it, I mewed, "Hello?" I didn't want an answer, I only hoped that no one was there.

  • Flintkit was walking past a house when she heard a noise inside it. Sounded like a yell. I hope whoever lives there is okay. The young gray cat followed the path up to the front door, and knocked.

  • Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

She cursed under her breath when loud knocks came from the door. Zeni left the room and the tunnel, not bothering to cover it back up.

She came to the door and jumped up, opening the latch, and the door swung open. Flintkit was behind it. "What is it?" She asked, trying not to sound hostile.

  • Flintpaw waited patiently as whoever lived there opened the door. Once it was opened, the student's blue eyes watched the golden ones cautiously. This black cat seemed to be... hiding something? But Flintpaw wasn't bothered enough to worry about what it was. She hadn't seen this cat around before. Maybe she was a hermit or something. "I just heard a yell, that's all," mewed the dark gray student lazily, her blue gaze flicking over the house for a moment, and then back to the black cat. "What's your name?"

  • Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

She looked down at the Student. "Zeni." She said quickly. "Ohh. I yelled after finding this tunnel..." She slapped her mouth shut.

  • The student raised invisible eyebrows. "A tunnel?" repeated Flintpaw, mildly confused. Tunnels didn't belong in twoleg houses. She didn't push any more for an answer, because Zeni seemed reluctant to talk about it. But the dark gray student had no idea why the black cat mentioned it if she wanted to keep it a secret. This was a good example of why you shouldn't trust others to keep secrets for you. Not that that had anything to do with the present moment. Flintpaw was just looking into Zeni's golden eyes, waiting to see what the cat would so next. "I'm Flintpaw, by the way," added the student out of politeness.

  • Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

The black student nodded, then turned around. "I wouldn't want to be alone exploring the dang tunnel."

  • Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

Zeni nodded, then led them through the nest to the room with the sheets. She stepped over one that was sprawled across the floor, making her way to the tunnel.

It was big enough for a cat to go into it. Dust lined the walls, which, for a few fox-lengths, were made of the same shiny material as monsters.

  • "Cool," muttered the student, unexpected interest coursing through her. The 'tunnel' turned out the be a pathway that reminded her of a hole, or even a cave. But of course instead of open space, it led somewhere. But to where? It didn't seem to be recently used, what with all the dirt covering the walls. Flintpaw tentatively peeked her head through, and her nose caught a twoleg tang, that reminded her of monsters on the thunderpath. She withdrew gave room to let Zeni to go first. It was her house, after all. The black cat should have first dibs on the discovery.

(OOC: I guess it's an air-conditioning vent or something. Or something secret.)

Zeni nodded, then slipped into the tunnel. Instinctively she unsheathed her claws, making a metallic tang sound through the tunnel. It echoed eerily, and only made her fur rise.
The black student padded forwards a bit, feeling more at ease in the tunnel with each step.
She turned her head, to say, "Come on!"

  • "Coming," replied the student. She paused hesitantly for a moment, but couldn't think of anything to be scared of. So she placed a first paw into the tunnel, and then another, and soon she had caught up to Zeni. The black cat in front of her had a relaxed posture, as if she was at ease with this environment. Flintpaw, on the other hand, wasn't shivering with fear, but she held a reasonable amount of caution as she padded along. Her blue eyes tried to see through the thick cover of darkness, but she could only detect the feline figure in front of her.

ooc: that would make sense. the decision is yours, though.

  • Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

Zeni padded on, her gold eyes making out the edges of the tunnel as she padded through it. Her whiskers brushed against the sides.
The black student soon found the tunnel sloping downwards, and the metal walls were soon replaced by dirt and rock.

(OOC: I have no idea. seriously.)

  • Flintpaw followed the black cat in front of her, though she wouldn't have been able to differentiate the colour of Zeni's fur and the black curtain of shadows that hung over them both. Her ears pricked slightly when the noise of their claws ceased. They were padding on a different material now, a quite familiar one compared to the first stretch of twoleg metal. Even though the earth was beneath them, it had a musty smell to it and still framed all four sides of the pathway.

ooc: hah I guess we'll find out
it could be a secret passageway for twoleg children when they used to live there
or maybe if big enough, a mining tunnel
But the air vent idea sounds good too

  • (OOC: maybe it's both an air vent and a mine! >w<)

    Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

Zeni padded on, ignoring any cobwebs that occasionally appeared. Then the tunnel became larger, but smaller than any of the rooms of her house. An intersection from another tunnel passed through the room, which smelled faintly of twoleg, so faint it was almost indistinguishable. Square wooden logs held up the ceiling, and a small glass thing at the top flickered faintly with light.

  • Without warning, a cobweb hanging from the ceiling appeared in her line of vision right before she walked into it. Flintpaw clasped her eyes shut and gave her head a gentle shake. Cobwebs were no threat, and maybe the spider could pick it up and build another home with it. Once the webbed material fell daintily to the floor, her eyelids lifted to reveal the pair of mellow blue eyes. Not much use in this darkness, but she planned to watch more carefully. She had no quarrel with a spider, and hoped it stayed that way. Those arthropods were baby machines, and the dark gray student didn't want to face the wrath of a thousand little crawlies demanding revenge for their mother's home being destroyed.

Her eyes quickly caught the source of light hanging from the now taller ceiling. Then they edged their way downwards to land on Zeni, who she could now see a little clearer. There they remained, as Flintpaw opened her mouth to speak. "Left or right?"

  • Zeni ➨ Black ➨ Gold ➨ She-cat ➨ Radicalclan

    (OOC: Bananaaaasss)

Zeni paused to look left and right, listening for anything in the tunnels. "I have no idea... Maybe we should go straight, so we can find our way back easily."

  • Flintpaw bobbed her head in agreement. The trip would be ruined if they ended up getting lost. Who knows how long it would take them to find their way out of here. And the only food source in sight or hearing had been flies and spiders. Flintpaw didn't want to be the old lady who swallowed them.

    (OOC: banana.)

Zeni padded forward, keeping her eyes peeled for anything suspicious, like snakes, rats, or even twolegs. Who knew what would be down there.
