Kingston leaps up onto the light granite cupboards, purring quietly. Only the Woman caregiver were here, the man had left with a carrier. Kingston closes his eyes, rubbing his head against the woman's hand, before turning away. He pads along the counter-tops, heading for the closed but open from curtains window above the large, stainless steel sink. He sets himself down into the dry-est sink bottom, eyes peering intently out the wide window. Birds flew out and about, while squirrels and others scuttled around; up and down trees, along the wooden fence-line.

Ic: Evelyn didn't know today was going to be the start of a new adventure. Just last night, she'd fallen asleep in a cage stacked above a few others, curled up and expecting to wake up to the same surroundings and to endure another day at the Adoption Center. Although she woke to assume that, it wasn't as it seemed. A few hours after she'd awoken, a man walked into the corridor where she resided, an employee with him. She didn't understand their tongue, but she felt hope burn within her when the man stopped by her cage. A smile opened on his face, and he barked to the employee. And that was that. She was lifted and loaded in the carrier- which she wasn't to fond of- and taken away from where she'd been half her life. They came across a human dwelling, and Evelyn knows this is where she will spend the rest of her life. The man takes her, opens the door and barks something to whomever, and sets her down by the entrance. She peers through the bars of her cage, her blue eyes taking in every detail of the home.

    Ooc:

  • Kingston turns his olive green orbs towards the hall, his gaze scanning the entrance. He leaps off the counter, hearing the door shut behind what must be the male human. He peers around the corner, ears pricking as he sees the unfamiliar female. Kingston brings his full body into view, his white paws making light steps on the rug lining the oak floors of the corridors.

  • Evelyn shies closer to the back of her cage, her heart leaping into her throat at the sight of another at. She dropped down, paws hiding underneath her soft white coat, and her pale gray ears back. She stared at him, watched him approach, and her light blue optics studied him closely, although she tried to hide so.

  • Kingston stops about a foot away, peering into the cage. "Who are you?" he asked kindly, tail raised slightly in furious curiosity. Kingston cocked his head slightly to the right, waiting for the sweet sound of answer. The male's eyes were glimmering.

  • Evelyn crept forwards a bit, only to get a better look at the tomcat. He was good-looking, she'd give him that, and he seemed to be nice and showed no signs of hostility. "I'm... Evelyn," she mewed softly, her ears lifting a little. She waited for a response, her small paws beginning to slip out from under her chest as she relaxed.

  • "Kingston." The male replied, flicking his ears back momentarily at the sound of her voice. He had always been the only cat in the house, and only chatted with the neighboring cats every so often. He smiled, before turning away. He turned his gaze back to her. "I can give you a tour of your new home, if you want." he suggest, waving his tail.

  • "That would be nice," Evelyn mewed, shuffling closer to the front of her cage. She placed a paw gentle on the bars, as if trying to reach out to the cat. "But I need to get out of here, first." As if summoned by her command, the male human approached the cage of where she was being held and knelt down. His large hand grabbed the lock on the door, and he seemed to grapple with it before pulling it open. Without giving the pretty she-cat a chance to adjust, his hand reached inside and grabbed her with a roughness only humans considered gentle, and hauled her out. He placed Evelyn right before Kingston, then finally released her, letting her lower herself into a crouch. She stretched her neck, sniffing him curiously.

  • Kingston jerks his head, lifting a front paw. "Come on!" he mews cheerfully, trotting off in the general direction of the kitchen. The tom's paws pattered on the floor, echoing through the walls of the house softly.

  • Evelyn hesitated for a short amount of time before scampering after him, her small paws carrying her over until she matched his pace. Her light blue gaze soaks in all the details of this room, her mouth gapped in slight awe. "This is so cool!" She gasped, her ears pricking. A sudden power rushed into her back legs, and with a graceful movement, she leapt onto the counter. The cold countertop sent chills down her spine, but otherwise purred in delight.

  • Kingston chuckles, leaping up onto the granite in one, fluid movement. His eyes sparkle as the dust-mites from the window swirl away from the two. He licks a paw, before setting it back down on the clean, sparkling counter.

  • Evelyn wanders, exploring every niche she could find in the granite or the cabinets that hovered above it. Suddenly, an eep!of surprise flew past her lips as her paw came down, expecting to feel contented granite, but instead felt air. Her entire front body fell forward, and she scrambled to prevent herself from falling into the sudden dip.

  • Kingston just smiles, padding towards the she. "Its the sink." he mews, "Its safe. Yes, its wet sometimes, and full of water, but now its not. And its not that far down, see?" the tom tells her, motioning with his tail at the frain in the sink.

  • Evelyn blinks, scrambling herself back to the top. Her cheeks enflamed under her fur, embarrassment making her ear tips hot at the sorry performance she just played. "O-oh," she voiced softly, looking down at her paws, then at the sink. "I guess it took me by surprise." She dared a glance at Kingston, expecting a laugh or snap, and felt her heart thumping at a more noticeable beat that one would consider worry.

  • Kingston nodded. "It happens." he replies, turning back. "Come on! Theres more than just the kitchen!" the tom meows cheerily, leaping off the counter, heading for the colorful, open living room across the large halls. He enters the room, leaping up onto the glass centerpiece table.

  • Evelyn follows after him, forgetting about the sink dilemma, and giggles joyously as new sights and scents welcome her to another room. "What's this place called?" She asked, glancing around to take in the new room's scenery.
