kian blake

    believe in the breeze
    the smokey morning haze

it all happened in a rushed, incoherent blur. the girl escaped, just before he had the chance to actually talk to her, and he'd noticed that the water dripping from her wet hair had been suspended in mid-air for a few moments before suddenly falling back to the forest floor. there was definitely something off about her, and kian was determined to find out just what that something was. he could just feel the immense energy emanating from her when they stood face to face. the son of zeus had been at camp, around all kinds of creatures you wouldn't even know existed, and still, had only felt that type of energy around very powerful demigods, namely, the few children of hades, and his sister, the daughter of zeus. could it be that the girl was an undiscovered demigod, or even more, a child of one of the big three?

he began in the direction in which she's run, moving aside branches and straining his eyes to see past the dense foliage. she couldn't have gone that far, he thought to himself, worry arising at the chance that he might have lost her. it was then that he heard several gunshots, almost jumping out of his skin because it had sounded so close to him. demigods handled some of the finest weapons on the face of the earth, namely stygian iron and celestial bronze swords, and they were all used to wielding those. but one weapons most are still wary of was the ordinary gun. they definitely weren't used to those, so it wasn't much of a surprise to kian that his heart rate had spiked at the sound.

being the curious demigod kian was, he felt he just had to go and investigate the source of the sound, tentatively making his way toward it. he finally spotted the girl with the wet hair, this time with another, probably the one with the gun. he continued, more confidently now that he'd identified the girl with the gun as a demigod he'd seen back at camp. she'd arrived a few weeks back, and being a child of hades, she received special welcome, but kian was still unsure of her name. just behind the tree separating him from the pair, his pace hindered slightly. the hades girl had just shadow travelled, something he'd only seen once or twice in his six years at camp.

"yeah what is up?", kian spoke up, more curious now than he'd been before. he stepped out from behind the tree, approaching the girls and stopping a meter or so away.

    {sorry for the long wait guys, really busy!}

    the sun on her face
and the touch of lovers' hands

  • Sky spinned around to see the gun girl smiling and the blonde boy looking curiously at her. Sky was beginning to like the whole around people thing. It was exciting! "I.. uh.. was just watching you shoot your gun." She said still in a trance of the loud banging and the shiny bullets. Sky wondered how she got behind her, but she pushed it aside because she made up a completely ridiculous idea and thought it was logical. Well of course she shadow walked. Sky's mind whispered like it was no big deal. Wait! What the heck is shadow walking?! Her mind said louder in her more logical tone. Ok. This was weird, but the most interesting thing that has happened to Sky in a long time. She walked over to the blonde boy and stuck out her hand. "Hi, I'm Sky! To answer your question earlier, I think asking a person who they are before spewing their life to them is very smart." I grasped his hand and smiled very brightly at him. Sky let go of him to turn to the girl, waiting for her to say something.

(Totally your turn because i'm tired. *yawns* .-. *sleeps upside down* BAI! :3

  • For a moment, Cynthia didn't realize that a resonse was being waited for, she was too confused? Curious? This girl that was watching her use her gun, she wasnt wearing a camp tee-shirt and she feels kind of like a... Disconnected person? Cynthia was no expert in reading people, so she was probably off, but she gave a wierd vibe. As for Blondie? She reconized that he was a camper, beyond that she had no clue who he was. There was also a cirtain sense that something almost clicked, with the three of them standing right there and all together, she couldn't place it.

She blinked in surprise at the realization that the strange girl was anticipating a answer.
"Oh well, umm" she paused, wondering what to say in response. "I'm Cynthia," she said.

  • "Hello Cynthia." Sky said enthusiastically. "Now what's that." Sky pointed to the orange shirt that says 'Camp Half-Blood.' "Is there like a summer camp nearby or something 'cause that's a weird name for a camp."

kian accepted the girl's compliment hesitantly, curious as to why she'd changed so quickly. mindsets that is. she almost seemed like a normal girl now, with her strange innocence and nonchalant smile, but the son of zeus knew better than to leave it at that. his curiosity simply would allow it. he watched intently as the girl, almost completely dry now, exchanged greetings with cynthia. "i'm kian, by the way..", he offered, deeming the moment right to give his name, but he also thought it was about time she started answering some questions too. when sky asked about their camp tees, he was sure she knew nothing of their kind. he was almost certain that she was also a demigod, but there was only one way of proving it.

"follow me..", he announced abruptly, starting in the direction of the camp entrance. if sky was able to see the camp for what it was, it meant that she was either a demigod, a human that can see through the mist, or a different mythical creature.

    the sun on her face
and the touch of lovers' hands

  • "Woah. Ok weird entrance to a camp." Sky looked at the old columns that held the stone slab up. She read the engravings on the slab. 'Camp Half-Blood' it said in big, fancy letters. Sky walked under like it was nothing and continued down the path. "Ok, so where is this camp of yours." She spun around before looking fully into the woods at the big camp. Her eyes grew wide as she looked at the blonde boy. Sky slowly inch back around to face the camp. Her eyes almost popped out of her skull at the sight. There were flying horses, weapons, and people everywhere. How could I have not noticed this before?! Sky's mind practically screamed at her. "B-bu-but how could I not have noticed this before." I stammered turning around to face the boy again.

  • Durring the walk back, the daughter of Hades had converted her guns back to the swords now strapped to her back, following behind Sky with Kian leading. A slight smile flickered on her mouth, hearing the new girl's comments, she could deffinately relate to her awe "The Mist, it keeps away the eyes of onlookers, since this isn't just a normal camp." She said, nodding slightly. "Not actual mist mist." Cynthia added quickly. "Do you know who or what you are?" She asked, the words she previously spoken surprised and faintly amused her, she remembered those exact words, they brought back a long forgotten memory, one that she rather not remember. She shoved it to the back of her mind. She figured that the girl already had at least a slight idea, she was pretty skilled with her trident, but obviously didn't know much judging from Sky's shock.

  • Kian suspicios were being proved more and more correct, Sky definitely had something to do with world of the Gods. Now all he had to do was nring her to Chiron, he'd know what to do, he always did. It was all getting quite exciting, if you asked him. He'd gone on a few quests before and he'd succeeded in all, but they weren't anything too major, not something as cool as recruiting another demigod, and all without a satyr. He and Cynthia, already in Chiron's good books because they were kids of one of the big three, were about to get even more camp credit, deserving obviously. Kian strolled in the direction of the big house, Chiron was probably there, beaming slightly as he walked. "I think we shiuld bring her to Chiron", he spoke over his shoulder at Cynthia, nearing the front door by then. When Cynthia gave no reply, he turned quick on his heels, just to make sure that the girls were still behind him.
Kian's jaw almost dropped. Right above Sky's head was a glowing green trident. Sky was a daughter of Poseidon.

  • "Ok, uh...I'm pretty sure I'm a human, who the heck is Chiron, and what's with the floating trident above my head." Sky asked pointing to the green weapon above her head. "Whatever let's go to this Chiron person." She walked past Kian, following in the direction he was heading. Sky still had her clothing in her hands and she was still barefoot and half wet, but she didn't care. Sky liked the feeling of grass between her toes and wetness.

  • What in the Gods was with this kid?! Cynthia was still interested by the fact that this kid was the only Poesidon kid at camp, not particularly surprised since she used the trident so well, it made a lot of sense. Prehaps the more shocking thing was that this kid was more surprised about seeing the camp than the symbol of the trident floating above her head. The three were still a good distance from the big house but she could still see the outline of Chiron standing on the deck, out of his wheel chair to reveil his lower body, a white sallion. The centaur stood next to Dionysus and she could tell even fromm here that they were watching Sky, Kian and herself. "Off to see Chiron indeed, " she said, deciding to let Chiron or Kain to tell her about her parentage and situation, now following after Sky. "Strangely enough, Sky made her way over here rather than us finding her and bringing her, thats a bit of a twist," she said to Kian. Cynthia did, however, take a bit of pride in the fact that Kian and herself brought her to Camp. She kind of struck her as a little bubbly? It was weird, how she was just going from topic to topic. She also remembered that Kian was a son of Zeus, as she remembered seeing him and his sister sit at the Zeus table, finding it somewhat amusing how three children of the big three all meet up like that.

  • "Woah. Horse dude! Hi!" Sky waved excitedly at him. Not really the weirdest thing to happen to me today. She ran as fast as she could up to the steps of the big half wood half stone cabin. Sky looked at the horse dude up and down in awe at how someone could possibly be half horse. "It is nice to see fairy tales come true. My name is Sky! You must be that Chiron dude Kian was talking about." Sky stuck out her hand and smiled her big bright smile. I'm so dreaming, and so I'll wake up to my parents smiling faces. Just go along with it cause part of this dream is fun! She just kept on smiling.

  • Sky's over enthusiasm was both amusing and slightly unnerving, how was she taking this all so well? The day Kian dicovered his godly heritage, when he'd seen his first monster, he was in complete denial, wanting to stay in his shared room in the foster home and not come out. But then again he was only eight years old at the time, and he did recover rather quickly, remembering all the cool superhero movies he'd seen. He was brought to Camp Half-Blood by Chiron himself and the moment he came to stand under the big tree at the entrance, a shimmering blue lightening bolt flashed momentarily above his head. Claimed by the King of the God, and put into the huge Zeus cabin, eight year old Kian was almost overwelmed. But Chiron had taken such good care of him, treating him like a son, and soon it was as if Chiron was the father he never had, or had never gotten to meet. Kian was greeted by a slight furrowing of Chiron's eyebrows, as if in question. "Chiron she's a child of Poseidon.."

  • "HA! Child of posideon?!" Sky cracked up, a tear dripping down her face from laughing so hard. "You can't be serious." She glanced between Chiron and Kian, looking for proof that this was a joke. But all she found was their serious faces staring at her. "Ok, I'm dreaming." Sky looked into the distance before turning around and walking down the steps. "I know how to wake up!" She ran back towards the woods, the trident hopping up and down on her back. Sky ran towards the little clearing where the ocean expanded as far as she could see. Sky jumped in and swam as far as she could. She cut open a wound in her arm and let it bleed out into the water. Sharks started to swim around her, their eyes covered with a white film. They were hungry. I know how to wake up...I have to die.

  • Chiron had opened his mouth to say that he had seen the unmistakable green glow of the trident hologram that was above the child of Poseidon head. He hesitated only because it confirmed his grim suspitions. He looked between Kian and Cynthia with slightly furrowed brows and nodded to the two. "Kian, Cynthia," he gestured to where Sky had ran off to.

Cynthia needed no more to be said, she nodded. She assumed the daughter of Poesidon did something stupid after she cracked so she wasted no time in running after her.

Sky had ended up crossing the boundary line and her strong demi-god blood in the water had also attracted other water creatures, telekhines. But something else was happening, a very slight diference but the daughter of Hades noticed it right away, her feeling of something being very wrong was confirmed. Cynthia was really hating her wreakless use of energy earlier today, she would have shadowtraveled to save time but she was tired as it was, she ran through the trees as fast as she could.

(I hope this doesn't qualifye as powerplaying, I'll change it if you don't like it! I prbably won't be on till much later today)

  • "Oh my Gods!", Kian's sigh was a tense release of frustration, shame it did nothing to relieve his nerves however. What on Earth had gotten into Sky's head, being a child of Poseidon couldn't have been bad news, in fact the next best thing to the sky, for the son of Zeus, was actually the sea. How vivid could a dream get, for her to conclude the present situation was in fact, a dream. The blonde dismissed the thought as soon as it had escaped his consciousness, knowing all too well how vivid dreams could be. Demigods had it worst.

Receiving the grim nod from Chiron, he bolted after the two girls, footsteps going from the squelching of dew-laden grass to the following crunching of the branches and undergrowth of the forest. Having had enough of the goose chase, Kian sped up, willing the air behind him to propel him further into the forest at a much greater rate. Before long running wasn't needed anymore, for his feet ceased to meet the ground, hovering a feet or two above. There was a lot of room for improvement, but Kian had pretty much mastered the whole flying thing. He loved being a child of Zeus.

Kian overtook Cynthia, reaching the waterfront in a matter of seconds, and immediately spotted Sky, surrounded by what seemed to be sharks. But the bobbing of a face above the surface of the water proved him wrong. They weren't sharks, they were telekhines, the dark creatures of the waters. By the way they were eyeing Sky, it became pretty obvious that they held no regard for her Father, which aggravated the situation. How had the day gone from discovering a new demigod, descendant of one of the big three brothers, to saving that same demigod from a telekhine? Kian tried not to ponder too much on the matter, knowing he had little time before it'd be too late.

Suddenly arcing his hands earthward, he was thrust higher into the air, before descending and hovering just above Sky. He reckoned he could keep the creature at bay until Cynthia brought Sky back onto land. Shooting blast after blast of concentrated, heated swirls of air at the telekhine, he managed to force it away. But his energy was fast diminishing, tangibly seeping out of his ever pore. "Cynthia hurry up, Sky get out of the water!", Kian's voice was almost completely drowned out by the overwhelming sounds of strong winds. He didn't doubt the girls had heard him though, well he had to hope, because even as he spoke the words, he could feel the winds lightening slightly.

  • Cynthia picked up the pace and she finally made it to the clearing. She counted roughly 10 telekhines in the water. She ran right up to the water, knee deep and aimed with a gun, her other gun was in the form of a sword. She took aim and very carefully shot three telekhines with the black energy, tge three that were farthest away from Kian and Sky. She didn't want to risk hitting the other two so she stepped back. She knew she wasn't a very strong swimmer, and she assumed that Sky probably didn't want saving so she'd be struggling all the way. From the distance of where Sky and Kian were to the beach she estimated she had one safe shadowtravel without risking her chances of colapsing. Pushing away the one nagging thought of 'run' into her mind and with her adrenaline pumping, she ran foreward and shadowtraveled over to where fight was. She was in a instance in the water, above where Sky was and below where Kian was. A telekhine came at her but she shot it point blank. She turned her gun into a sword and dove down to meet Sky, deciding to defend her and then bring her to the shore once the three of them gained ground. Half of her actually appreciated the fight, she still hasn't settled down from being on the run to being at camp, the safe haven.

  • Giant waves started to crash at the shores, but they were not caused by Sky. She felt arms grab her, and Sky went limp. She had lost to much blood. Dark spots clouded her vision and the last things she saw were the sharks, Cynthia and Kian, and the torrent of white water crashing up on the shore. If Poseidon really was her father, you would think he was very mad right now.

  • In the torrent, Cynthia dropped her sword but she didn't worry too much since it would always return to the sheath. She knew that Sky could breath underwater so she wasn't too concerned, no, the amount of blood she had lost was what was worrying her. She brought Sky up to the surface so that she herself could breathe. Cynthia hated blood, absolutely hates it and it always made her remember about her old life on the run with Alice and Tobias. Exhausted and soaked to her bone, her reflexes were slower, when a teleknine came at her and Sky's limp body she just barely made it in time to slash it with her other sword that was resting on her back moments ago. She risked once more, another shadow travel with Sky with her, this time only a quarter of the distance to the shore, blinking away flashing dots, she kept swimming but the waves were getting more and more erratic, she wondered if it was Poesidons's doing or another's. She was half way to the beach.

the more kian fought, the more they seemed to multiply. realisation dawned on him, that he wouldn't be able to take them all on, not now anyway. he just had to make sure the others could get back safely. telekhines couldn't travel on dry land, could they? the boy was more than willing to test his luck and turned his focus to his escaping friends. it was obvious that cynthia's energy was wearing far too thin now, an unfortunate result of the numerous shadow travels. he himself didn't even feel he had enough strength to keep himself hovering over the water for too long. he'd have to end this quickly.

with the remaining energy pulsing through his muscles, he diverted his winds from the surrounding telekhines, and onto the slowing demigods nearing the beach. kian managed to provide the extra boost they needed to reach shore, and in seconds they were safely out of the creatures' reach. an sudden jolt, followed by the deteriorating of his winds reminded him that he himself, was still out above the water. he threw his arms out behind him, the final blasts of air acting as the same propellers he used to get through the forest, and he sped over the water. altitude rapidly decreasing and the scent of salt water rapidly increasing, kian thought that he might not actually make it, but just as his energy ran out, he crossed over the boundary between land and lapping water, tumbling all the way over to the two girls.
