As usual, they were practicing.
The Skarmory slashed at the Charizard with Air Cutter. Flare spat a jet of flame at Ryan, and he backed off swiftly, the sky his and his opponent's advantage. Ryan flew over Flare, losing altitude swiftly and slamming into Flare, with no apparent move. Retaliating, Flare used Flamethrower. The Skarmory gave a shrill screech of pain, flying backwards. "/Done yet?/" Flare taunted.

"/In your adolescent dreams,/" Ryan screeched, attacking again with Aerial Ace. Flare returned the attack with Flamethrower again, which was dodged with experienced skill. Flare spat a tongue of flame at Ryan, along with some dirty curse words.

Arcane gave Acario a quick glance before Acario said. "Uh, no. We don't have a trainer."

Ryan flew in a circle around Flare, who craned his neck to follow his progress. Ryan lunged, using Steel Wing. Flare growled angrily and backed off, Flamethrower appearing next to Ryan and singing his wing.

IC:
Acario's eyes lot up. "I am!" He said excitedly. "Are you one?"

{LOL. Okay, so there's a ridiculously noisy battle in the air and no one notices.}

OOC:
For all we know, it could be a mile away from them.

{Do you remember how loud Devin's Skarmory was?}

OOC:
Well, it has started raining. Rain tends to muffle sound.

IC:
Acario started laughing, running around in circles. Arcane rolled her eyes. "Normally he's quite calm."

"/Damned rain!/" Flare hissed, his wings beating harder. Ryan had to agree with him, but they continued to circle in the sky, giving loud yells and screeches as they clashed.

Ryan shook the water off his steel body. "/Let's take a break, at least 'till the rain stops,/" he suggested. Flare nodded his agreement, and they raced downwards.
Beneath the shelter of the trees, they shifted. "Sheesh, I really hate rain, don't you?" Flare asked, brushing his soaking hair out of his face.

IC:
Acario stopped and looked at Mari. "Your shifting back? It so much FUN being a Pokemon! Why would you-"
"Acario!" Arcane playfully batted his ear. "I have never seen you like this before." Acario chuckled. "Sorry. It's just I'm so sensitive to electricity. I can feel so much energy in the air. Just wait. There'll be lightning in the next half hour."
"In the mean time, you can shift back into a human." Arcane said. Acario sighed, and shifted into a human. Immediately, he appeared to calm down.
