I was deep under the water. Frozen. Like time had stopped. I had no fear, oddly, but I could hear my blood roaring in my head, urging me to swim upwards. But why should I? What had I to live for? I was to blame for my dad's death. If I went home, i'd be shamed upon forever. So I barely opened my eyes and tried to register my sight in the water. Nope. Too dark. So I looked up at the glistening top of the water, the sunlight making me squeeze my eyes shut again. My lungs began to feel like they were shrinking, begging for me to swim upwards, and I guess I did. My head broke the surface and I gasped in air, kicking with my legs and not saying a word so I didn't waste any precious oxygen.

Hannah gasped for air but all she could taste was water rushing into her mouth she looked around her and realised she was underwater. She could see the surface and she surged towards it once she broke the surface she gasped for air looking around her she saw more people that were gasping for air.

Brandon surged towards the surface soon breaking it and looking around. He couldn't see any shore anywhere he guessed they were quite far out. His clothes were sodden "All I wanted was a holiday" he mumbled to himself as he swam forwards a bit his clothes trying to drag him down. He reached down to his feet and undid the laces on his trainers he watched them float upwards but they soon became too full of water and plummeted to the sea floor.

I felt so elapsed in time; as if every second were a year, the clock ticking insanely slow. Each breath hurt, and I fought vainly to keep my head above water. Find land... I urged myself. I had to stay up. Or I'd drown. Yes, there had been some close calls of me drowning, so I was a bit afraid. Okay, not a bit. A lot. I pulsed my legs in the water, trying to get a rythm of each wave, when to breath, when I'd get splashed. I took a precious moment to look around at the others that weren't holding off very well on their own.

Brandon got into a steady rhythm with his treading water he swam forwards slightly but it hurt badly he gradually moved forwards his legs burned with effort.

Hannah battled the waves they were steadily growing and she knew she had to move and fast.

I began to swim forward. Forward Forward. Until my toes barely skimmed the damp sea floor underneath me. I almost cried out for joy, but I wan't going to waste precious breath. I kept my toes skimming across the damp sea mud, and couched out, "over here!" To any of the survivors of the crash. Billows of smoke began to fade as the plane sank, deeper and deeper into the icy water.

Brandon heard a shout of "Over here" he turned to see a girl standing upright he swam towards her before his feet touched the sand he let out a sigh of relief has he walked further up.

Hannah followed Brandon towards the shore once she was standing she fell onto the ground and basked in the sun.

I crawled up onto the sand and assessed the damage. My leg had been knocked by one of the wings, and it was a little banged-up, but otherwise, I was okay. Just wet.
I looked around at the other survivors, a bit shocked to see other girls. Other tough cookies like me. It felt good to know that I wasn't the only one.

I looked out across the water and nodded numbly. So many had died. So many dead bodies. Sinking into the sea. Forgetting all their worries. Going to a better place.
Hopefully.
Despite the fact that they were sinking into muck and grime, in a sea probably infested with sharks. I looked over at the two, one boy and one girl, and limped over to them, not one word escaping my lips. There was nothing right to say at this moment. Are you all right? I'd get the usual answer; I'm fine. Even though they could be hurt. I mean, you could be bleeding to death and still say, 'i'm fine'.
