the Doctor released a hefty sigh, then waited until all the other passengers had cautiously moved forward to continue. "Crystal, try not to repeat anything," he instructed, concern lacing his voice. it wouldn't work; not as far a he could tell. this creature was here to copy, and nothing else. this was bad. very, very bad.
"does anyone know where the driver is?" he asked suddenly, looking up. most everyone shook their head, but a man draped in an odd, transparent rain coat pointed at the door. without further ado, the time-lord whipped around, and pulled the door open. just as quickly, he closed it.
"nothing," the Doctor reached into his coat pocket again; this time, however, his eyes were plastered to the ground instead of anyone.

"everyone, stay back!" the Doctor shouted, squinting as he looked at Crystal. he pulled a pair of 3-D glasses from another pocket, and quickly slid them on. "ooh... these creatures could be good or bad, depending on who they take over," he spoke quickly, a grimace on his face. he gave the slowly-appearing TARDIS a solemn pat, and turned as he felt a small hand tap him on the shoulder.
"mister, why is she repeating you? would she repeat me, or Mini-Dalek, or... Phillip?" a young girl was staring up at him, and the Doctor looked her up and down for a second.
"probably," he answered after a moment, causing the lady whose hat had been disintegrated to release a small shriek. he wondered about the small figurine and bloody drawing in her hands for a minute, but then hurried back over to Crystal. he knelt down in front of her, and frowned. "Crystal? are you in there?" he hoped, perhaps, she could come back, but that was unlikely. "DON'T ANYONE SAY A WORD!" he yelled suddenly, causing all the faint murmurs and odd robotic voice to fall silent.

the Doctor's eyes widened in surprise, and he placed one hand on either side of Crystal's head. for a few moments, all was silent. then he withdrew his hands, and looked at the other passengers. "does anyone have gum?" he asked, ripping the 3-D glasses off his face.
the lady dug through her expensive-looking handbag for a moment, and pulled out a small pack of what appeared to be Extraterrestrial Spearmint gum. "here," she said cautiously, throwing a stick of gum at the Doctor. "will this help her?" she questioned, watching as he unwrapped it and tossed it into his mouth.
"no," he responded tautly, beginning to chew the gum. "it just relieves my nerves," the time-lord continued, looking at Crystal again.

the Doctor looked back at the girl who'd spoken, and yanked the figurine from her hand. at the same time, she released the drawing, revealing it to be a coughing man with blood all over his shirt. he didn't pay any mind, just broke apart the figurine and carefully extracted some odd little items. "Crystal? can-" he was cut off as a large noise bounded through the room, and the TARDIS appeared fully. he disappeared inside, the reappeared, carrying a new Sonic and other equipment. he began to work quickly on something, using the pieces he'd extracted from the figurine and the items he'd gotten from his "magical blue box".

all the while, the man in the drawing was dying, and only she had shown her face.
