  • Leaf staggered through the forest. Her belly was round and swollen with her coming kits. She and her mate Thorn were trying to find somewhere where she could have her kits in peace. She found one of the biggest, oldest redwoods. A small hollow had rotted out in the twisting roots. Leaf flicked her ears toward it and looked at Thorn, exhausted.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thorn rested his tail tip on Leaf's shoulder briefly and wandered into the hole.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The inside of the hollow was bigger, the perfect size for them. "It's perfect." Thorn murmured in Leaf's ear. "And our kits will be too." He licked her ear. "Don't worry. You'll be fine."

  • Coyotefang and his apprentice were hunting nearby, when the deputy caught scent of the loners. The pair padded over to the hollow. "Who's there?" Coyotefang growled in.

  • Leaf began creeping toward the back of the hollow. "I thought you said it was said it was safe," she hissed.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thorn moved toward the entrance and flexed his claws. He would die defending Leaf and her kits.

  • "Enough blood has been spilled hasn't it!?" Fernshadow shrieked when she saw Coyotefang preparing to fight. "Leave them in peace. They're no harm. Maybe they can even be warriors." she snapped. fernshadow hoped Coyotefang wouldn't take her defensive replies the wrong way.

  • OOC: Please do not powerplay, Wolflover. Coyotefang never had his claws out, or was even preparing to attack. And, Zappy, how can they run if he's in the way?

Coyotefang gave the warrior a scowl. Another one. What the hell was with these cats. "Do I need to repeat myself?" he asked the family again.

  • OOC: He was? Never noticed. :-[

IC: Thorn began to snarl and unsheathed his claws. "Leave us alone," he growled.

  • "We don't want a fight," Leaf mewed. "We'd leave if you weren't blocking the entrance. I'm about to have kits."
