The recent thaw, followed by the bitter cold, had left the pine needles on the evergreen trees glistening with a thing layer of frost. A brown tabby tom blinked his yellow eyes slowly at his surroundings, his pupils large, thanks to the shade of the trees. Landerpaw thought the pine needles were sleeping. Like the frost was a blanket, wrapping them around for the winter. He wished he could be them. Landerpaw hated Leafbare with great distace. He would have stayed in camp, but it had been a little bit... boring, personally. So, now Landerpaw was watching the pine needles with curious eyes.

Laughingpaw loved the frost. It wasn't as dangerous as snow, and it was just as pretty. Heck, she loved everything.
The torbie point she-cat was quite a beautiful cat. Call her vain, but she never not took pleasure in anything. Asides from the common, obvious things like pain. She trotted along, checking out the new forests she'd call home now. She spotted Landerpaw, and ran over to him. "Hi," she meowed. "Haven't really metcha before!"
-
Landerpaw hissed, jumping to his feet. Whirling around, the tom unsheathed his claws, eyes narrowed. At first he stared at at Laughingpaw with a cold glare, before recognizing the scent of Snowclan. Sighing, Landerpaw sheathed his claws, as he took a seat on the frost covered ground.
"I haven't met you either before." The brown tabby tom commented, glancing at Laughingpaw again. She was dang pretty. It was hard not to stop staring at her. He shook himself mentally. "I'm Landerpaw."
-
"I'm Laughingpaw," lightly chirped the apprentice. "Sorry if I startled you!" She grinned, flicking her tail once. "This is pretty, isn't it?"
-
"Laughingpaw... Do you like to laugh?" Landerpaw asked, tilting his head to the side curiously. He grinned, letting out a small chuckle. "S'alright. I wasn't focusing. I probably would have done the same to a mouse." Landerpaw glanced at the pine needles he had been watching, shrugging slightly. "Yeah, I guess so. It's cool when the sun reflects off of them."
-
Laughingpaw laughed. "Sure do!" she meowed. She paused, looking around. "I wonder if you slammed into a tree whether you'd get covered in the frost like with snow?"
-
Landerpaw grinned. "Cool." He glanced back at the pine needles, shrugging. "I guess we should find out, right?"
-
"Go ahead, Landerpaw," mewed Laughingpaw. "I'll be the cat on standby, in case we need Icebreak out here."
-
Landerpaw looked a little unsure, but shrugged like it was no big deal. "Watch and learn." The brown tabby tom grinned, backing up slowly. He squinted his yellow eyes, focusing on the tree. He closed his eyes, charging forward. At first, nothing happened. Then, an unbearable pain pulsed through his head, as Landerpaw fell on his back from the force. "Well?" He groaned, unable to tell if the frost fell or not.
-
"The branches shuffled, but nothing else happened," mewed Laughingpaw, giggling. She rushed over to Landerpaw, nudging him. "Are you okay?" she asked, fluffing her torbie point fur and blue eyes shining.
-
"We proved frost doesn't fall of trees when we slam into them. Yay us." Landerpaw groaned, opening his eyes. His vision was swirling, like someone was taking a paintbrush, and swirling the scenery around him. He glanced over at Laughingpaw. She looked like a swirl of colors as well. "Aw, Starclan. Everything is spinning." He groaned again, closing his eyes.
-
Laughingpaw stopped giggling, and began grooming Landerpaw furiously. "Do you need to see Icebreak?" she mewed anxiously.
-
Landerpaw tried to shuffle away from her hard tongue. His head began to pound. Sighing, Landerpaw let the she-cat furiously groom him. "Does she have something for my head?"
-
"I don't know anything about herbs, but she should have something!" mewed Laughingpaw, continuing her frenzied licking. "Are you hurt anywhere else?" she added in a demand.
-
"Other than my head? I feel absolutely great." Landerpaw murmured sarcastically, keeping his eyes shut. Opening his eyes just made him plain dizzy, which added to the already unbearable pain in his head.
-
OOC: It looks like he has a concussion? *notes symptoms* Dizziness and head pains...
IC: Laughingpaw's blue eyes grew wide. "Oh, if you're seriously hurt I'll never forgive myself," she mumbled to herself. "I'll get Icebreak!"
-
{ Yup. Concussion. He's not feeling too bright. }
"Icebreak, Icebreak... Oh, right. Her. Can you?" Landerpaw groaned. His head was pounding like the beat of a drum. The whole world felt like it was spinning out of control, like it would never stop. It was the worst feeling in the world. But, hey. At least they proved a point, right? -
Laughingpaw nodded, speeding off.
A while later...
Icebreak stormed into the clearing, herbs in her maw and a disapproving look on her face. She had dragged Laughingpaw back with her...this was not something she expected from the apprentice. "Alright, you intelligent cats," meowed the medicine cat. "You ram your heads into trees for some random reason. Your head hurts, I guess."
-
"We proved a point, at least." Landerpaw slowly forced his eyes open. Immediately, he groaned, shutting them tightly. Icebreak had just been a swirl of colors, like Laughingpaw. "My head hurts, and I feel dizzy." He mumbled.
-
"I think it's a concussion, then. You won't be leaving my den for several moons," informed Icebreak. "You'll be put near the back, where it's dark and quiet." Her tone grew sharp. "Laughingpaw, expect to see Puddlestar about this. For such stupidity, you should at least delay your ceremony for as long as him!"
